watching this series in quarantine made me realize that i was in a relationship that wasn't gonna work out cause she saw one video and said 'eh i wouldn't want to do something like that'
Thing is it only takes about 4 hours to do What to do next Ah yes *all the stations Ireland* Oh that takes about 2 hours What next *all the stations Isle of Man* What next Geoff Marshall Least Used Series Enough boredom busters for about 2/3 days
I love when Geoff waves at the driver and is so happy when they wave back. It just shows that bit of child still in him. Great video Geoff!!! Also, TH-cam thinks that Geoff isn't a name.
Noticed the classic woman with buggy not waiting to see if anyone else is getting off before getting on. :-) The video does make me want to go to St. Ives.
You should see it at the height of summer, pulling into St. Ives Station and the platform is so packed that when the doors open all the idiots on the platform just stand there waiting for everyone to get off, well we would if we had space to exit the train ffs lol
I'd advise you to go outside of the main holidays season. The place is murder during the summer. We usually go in June after Whitsun week but before the schools break up for the 6 weeks holiday.
Geoff and Vicky, im not into trains much, i just really really enjoy your styles of presenting, your attitudes, and the fact its genuinely interesting content. Congrats on a great first video, and cheers to many more to come!
As always, with anything teamed with Geofftech, you get amazing videos. Thank you to everybody who edits the videos, films and thank you everybody who contributed for making this possible. THANK YOU EVERYBODY!
Just started to watch this adventure you've both had and am looking forward to check out all the footage. In the early nineties I took a mate, who lives in the UK, across the whole length and breadth of the Netherlands by train in one day. Obviously not all of the stations, but we hade a lot off fun. From Rotterdam at breakfast, along Breda, Eindhoven, Maastricht for lunch, Venlo, Nijmegen, Arnhem, Zwolle, Groningen, Leeuwarden, Amersfoort, Amsterdam for diner , The Hague and back in to Rotterdam ending with a pint in the pub.
I liked the scene at around 7:20 or so when you could see Vicky carrying the heavy backpack and the camera and Geoff was just wandering around with his hands in his pockets :D Way to go and good luck on your journey!
So glad this was uploaded when it was! Currently quarter past 4 in the morning here in Wisconsin, I'm still up writing a college research paper that's due in roughly 8 hours, and going through a bad case of "writer's block"... perfect thing to let my mind wander for a bit. Thanks!
Came here from The Tim Traveler's channel. Geoff's enthusiasm at getting a wave from the engineer reminded me of a childhood memory of waving to the weekly freight train , and having it STOP for me and my friends. Turns out the line was being decommissioned, and this was the last run . The engineer invited us to come aboard and ride to the next road crossing! It was a long mile's walk back, but 8 year old Me has never forgotten that day, and I'm now 63. Ah, those carefree 1960s!!
So happy i saw this vid geoff. i have strong memories of my great grandmas house and how i watched the trains come round the corner of st. ives and past the windows of the bedrooms.
The most scenic train journey in the uk without question will be found on the St. Ives branch line. Have visited St. Ives so many times in my life there's no point event trying to count, absolutely love the place.
the coastal walk from St Ives to Penzance is fantastic. The sea is really that blue. Those gullls, they will rob the ice-cream from your hand. St Ives was wonderful and I could happily live there
Nice beginning of your long journey. And by the way, the St. Ives riddle was going in my head, when I saw the Instagram post. And since Die Hard With Avengence is one of my factories, the St Ives riddle was easy. The narrator of the riddle is the only one going. And then I have Samuel L Jacksons voice in my head. Haha
Geoff and Vicki, when you do Maidenhead to Marlow, the driver and guard will use a token and train staff that still has the key on the end, like the one you've seen for St Ives. Excellent so far, good luck for the rest of the challenge. Tim
As a British expat, watching these is just about the first thing that has made me stop and think about my move away from the UK. These two are/were fun to watch and I have seen places I didn't know existed. Still waiting to see the Chingford line and Bures/Mt Bures episodes. And the one where Vicki isn't happy with Geoff (Peterborough?). Keep it up and I look forward to whatever you two do next.,
I luuuuuuuuuuuv it! The interview bits are a really nice add! Great job from the editor too! I loved St Ives and the seagulls and you two. Well done, team! Can't wait to see more. Safe travels!
This series brings such fond memories back! A time when we could go out at any time, anywhere, and no masks, no fears... I hope we can end this horrible chapter that's been 2020, and have the chance to travel freely again in 2021!
Wow. Great stuff, will be following you each day. Many happy memories of the St Erth/St Ives branch. I used to ride up front when I was a kid and there was just a glass door between the driver and the passengers.
I like that idea! Maybe even show them on a map. I know the map on the website exists but it would feel like a more complete documentary to me if such an overview was in the video itself.
Geoff Marshall I know what you mean, and that's a good way of doing it. It's a bit unclear if you don't show of all the stations you stopped at to me, though. Does the map say when you visited it?
Dear Vicki & Geoff, I was disappointed to see there was insufficient tea in this episode. I do hope to see this rectified in future videos, along with an on screen tea counter, naturally.
Penzance was the main hub for my first ever holiday trip to Great Britain! I'm very glad i found your channel! Looking forward to all the other stations :)
Not only that, but it gets a name check in Flanders & Swann's Slow Train, a lament for the rail services cut by Beeching's axe. As we now see, although Beeching recommended that the St Ives branch be closed, it survived as you say.
Thanks for reposting the link on FB. I'm going to Cornwall next week. Sleeper to Penzance and spending a night in St Ives. I hope the weather will be nice for me too!
Watched them all, now time for a few again. Cornwall ones good as I went there the other day. Penzance, Liskeard, the Looe Branch - and I even did the Coombe Junction request stop!
Absolutely fascinating video. Thanks for sharing. I have heard of St Ives before in that riddle, which my grandfather actually used to recite to me many years ago. However, this is my first time of actually seeing St Ives. I live in Australia.
Just heard you on BBC R4 You and Yours; I'm a long distance traveller myself albeit on foot (last year solo from Lowestoft to Land's End and Cape Cornwall), so I'm fascinated by your journey and goal - good luck and looking forward to catching up on all the videos I've missed plus following those to come :)
Wow this was so good! Can't wait for many many more...
Wendover Productions Wow.. Hi Wendover!
OMG did not know you watched ATS too Wendover, any mroe Space Content coming soon?
What are you doing here? Did not expect you!
Wendover has a train fetish as well as a plane fetish! :D
Wendover Productions i love your videos so much
What better way to beat the boredom of self-isolation than to watch the whole series again from start to finish...
I'm using it as I recover from you know what
watching this series in quarantine made me realize that i was in a relationship that wasn't gonna work out cause she saw one video and said 'eh i wouldn't want to do something like that'

Geoff Marshall Least Used Series
Enough boredom busters for about 2/3 days
@@Northerner_Transport_Hub then rinse and repeat 😂
And so it begins. I start my binge of All The Stations.
Me too. How far did you get SirTeebs?
I love when Geoff waves at the driver and is so happy when they wave back. It just shows that bit of child still in him. Great video Geoff!!!
Also, TH-cam thinks that Geoff isn't a name.
4 years ago and I'm still rewatching the series every other week 😂
Same
Now 5 years
Same now 7 years
2021, starting another lap. Still the best TH-cam series ever.
Vicky looks so gosh darn happy doing this with you Geoff every time I watch one of these videos I'm smiling like an idiot ^_^
Noticed the classic woman with buggy not waiting to see if anyone else is getting off before getting on. :-)
The video does make me want to go to St. Ives.
MontytheHorse I live a few miles from it and it’s such a nice place...providing it’s not summer where it’s just stressful and busy!

Geoff doesn't like trains either...or so he keeps protesting... :-D
Me neither but I just love the very laid back, easy watching approach. It's so soothing.
I however like trains more than railways
As always, with anything teamed with Geofftech, you get amazing videos. Thank you to everybody who edits the videos, films and thank you everybody who contributed for making this possible. THANK YOU EVERYBODY!

Is it sad that i got goosebumps when i saw this in my notifications? The start of something beautiful!
So incredible how positive you guys are. And how excited Geoff becomes by mundane things... Love it!
I liked the scene at around 7:20 or so when you could see Vicky carrying the heavy backpack and the camera and Geoff was just wandering around with his hands in his pockets :D
Way to go and good luck on your journey!
Totally brilliant. Portillo is finished professionally. I hope the weather is that good for the rest of the trip!
So glad this was uploaded when it was! Currently quarter past 4 in the morning here in Wisconsin, I'm still up writing a college research paper that's due in roughly 8 hours, and going through a bad case of "writer's block"... perfect thing to let my mind wander for a bit. Thanks!
mariomon1301 well the only thing i know about wisconsin is that those pricks voted for trump^&
TheSchlork I'm a Japanese international student, so I got screwed either way...
So, how'd the paper go?

Vicky, please say phenomenal more. It is absolutely brilliant.
To clarify, this is NOT sarcasm. I'm smitten.
Watching the first episode again after the last one. Oh what a journey it has been!
Every now and then I come back to this video just to experience this series again.
So happy i saw this vid geoff. i have strong memories of my great grandmas house and how i watched the trains come round the corner of st. ives and past the windows of the bedrooms.

Have visited St. Ives so many times in my life there's no point event trying to count, absolutely love the place.
The St.Ives bay line is one of my favourite lines to travel on, been on it many times, the views you get are amazing
That was really good. I liked the fact that the theme music came back in at the end as well.
the coastal walk from St Ives to Penzance is fantastic. The sea is really that blue. Those gullls, they will rob the ice-cream from your hand. St Ives was wonderful and I could happily live there

Sitting on the edge of the road waiting on him. It’s the guy! Just the guy!
Excellent video clip of train ascent from the beach at 6:08. Very photogenic.
My dad grew up in St Ives and every year in the summer we go on holiday here and gosh it's lovely
Geoff and Vicki, when you do Maidenhead to Marlow, the driver and guard will use a token and train staff that still has the key on the end, like the one you've seen for St Ives. Excellent so far, good luck for the rest of the challenge. Tim
Well, I cannot support you financially cause I'm broke. So I'll support you guys spiritually.
Watched every episode since, nothing geeky here, just a modern look at our railways today. Well done Geoff and Vicki.
Never done the St. Ives line but it does look fantastic. You certainly picked the perfect sunny day to do it!
A great first video; it takes me back to when I was there earlier in the year when it was colder but the daylight was still marvelous.
Hello from quarantined Israel. Good time to watch All the Stations again and planning my next trip to the UK.
..... and we're off! great official first video guys. This is going to be officially EPIC!
I'm watching these all over again. ..Luv it Geoff and Vicky
As a British expat, watching these is just about the first thing that has made me stop and think about my move away from the UK. grew up in st ives gotta love it
This is more like a tourism-related train guide. Love it, I hope that I'll visit all these great areas someday.
Great job. Fantastic. And what an advert for Cornwall, too!
That new camera is amazing, Geoff. Stunning quality picture.
I luuuuuuuuuuuv it! The interview bits are a really nice add! Great job from the editor too! I loved St Ives and the seagulls and you two. Well done, team! Can't wait to see more. Safe travels!

Such a beautiful couple !!! I am going back and watching them all over again. Thank You for being the lovely people you are !!!!
Thanks Geoff and Vicki, love the videos and way they are presented. Keep up the awesome work and answer to the riddle is one man!!!!!
This is a beautiful first episode - the weather co-operating and I like the interviews with locals!
One word, and Vicki has used it already, Phenomenal :-)
Wow. Great stuff, will be following you each day. Many happy memories of the St Erth/St Ives branch. I used to ride up front when I was a kid and there was just a glass door between the driver and the passengers.
Great video. The joy in travelling and doing All The Stations really shows on your faces! Looking forward to a summer full of great videos.
The St Ives Bay Line scenario happened to me yesterday as they literally had to count how many people could get on
The mechanical signals are historical and quite unique. Rarely seen here in the States.
Cracking first video, guys. And what a gorgeous part of the country. I often holiday around the Torquay area, but have never ventured further West.
Very good video! I do think it'd be a good idea to show a list at the end of the video of what stations were visited that day.
Does the map say when you visited it?
yes it does ... ! ^Geoff
Thomas Joosten hey Thomas
AllThe Stations Ah, that makes up for it. Thanks for the replies!
Gapiedaan Hi
Beautiful to see the semaphores in action and still going strong! And I believe it is original but the end has seen some wear.
Amazing video. I can't wait for more!
Just starting to watch this whole series again in lockdown, no fast forwarding this time !
Dear Vicki & Geoff,
I was disappointed to see there was insufficient tea in this episode. I do hope to see this rectified in future videos, along with an on screen tea counter, naturally.
Come on they dont have much time to Upload and Edit
Fran Gunn r/wooosh
Started watching the whole series from the beginning again. Four years ago!? Loved meeting you both. ❤
I've started watching these again! Fantastic
Going to watch this again. A lovely series.
Just finished the last video, and decided to do it all over again. I just can't miss you guys. Too all the pac.....stations!
So good. Love the little interviews!
Watch them all over again
It's no good. I will have to watch all of them. I started with the documentary, now I am hooked.
Utterly joyous.
Hard to believe I was on the same train as train as you both from St Erth. Peter
I watched the whole series. It excited me when I saw the new videos. But now you finished. And I’m back for another round.
Saw the documentary several months ago when we started the shelter-in-place. Now it's time to see the long version. Looking forward to it!
Great video and I'm so excited for more!
enjoyed that, now to wait for the next one! oh loved the semaphores too!
With that number of stations in this video, there should be many hundreds of episodes!
Wonderful to see you both enjoying this. It's giving me as much pleasure to follow you both as I'm sure you're having yourselves.
Wow I just found this series and I now have no other plans for the weekend. You two rock!
Great video, the UK does look good in the sun :)
Absolutely fantastic, Vicki, Geoff and the support team. I'm going to enjoy the trip round the UK from my sofa, thanks :)
One year ago already can't believe it, well done guys.
Great video! Hope the project's going well. Good luck with the rest of your travels.
Brilliant start guys, loved seeing st ives. Looked like you timed it right with the weather :)
How exciting! From Londonist to this - especially exciting to a Lelant resident myself !
Penzance was the main hub for my first ever holiday trip to Great Britain! I'm very glad i found your channel! Looking forward to all the other stations :)
So excited for when you go to the darlington to saltburn line. Youll love it
A few years behind, but enjoyed the video Vicki and Geoff!
Fantastic start to what will clearly be a wonderful series, thank you! 😊
beautiful part of the country. Back when I visited it was only a single carriage 153.
Great video. Looking forward to many more!
Lelant Salting! Love that station. Use it everytime to get into St Ives.
St Ives Branch was writen down in the Beeching Cuts, luckely it was saved.
Not only that, but it gets a name check in Flanders & Swann's Slow Train, a lament for the rail services cut by Beeching's axe. As we now see, although Beeching recommended that the St Ives branch be closed, it survived as you say.
I'm glad it did. Would've been a disaster for the town if it had closed.
Fab! Brilliant video and made me all misty eyed for Cornwall.....
Thanks for reposting the link on FB. I'm going to Cornwall next week. Sleeper to Penzance and spending a night in St Ives. I hope the weather will be nice for me too!
What a fabulous start to what promises to be a memorable journey.
Watched them all, now time for a few again. Cornwall ones good as I went there the other day. Penzance, Liskeard, the Looe Branch - and I even did the Coombe Junction request stop!
Strange that now the semaphores are no longer in use, but the staff that Vicki held is!
Absolutely fascinating video. Thanks for sharing. I have heard of St Ives before in that riddle, which my grandfather actually used to recite to me many years ago. However, this is my first time of actually seeing St Ives. I live in Australia.
just discovered ur channel through londonist. Love ur content. Gonna watch this series which looks amazing
Amazing idea, looking forward to watching!
What a start!!!
What have you guys done. The magnitude of this task is just staggering!
I am isolating due to Covid so I am attempting to watch this in its entirety. See you at video 59!
This is going to be a very long but very enjoyable series
I am so excited for more of these videos coming up :)
I'm late - just discovered these fabulous videos! Fantastic work Geoff and Vicki!
Great start. Keep it up. Excellent video quality.
