The best and most important thing I learned from this book was the Law of Narcissm. Once I learned that we are all narcissists in some way or form, it allowed me to relax a bit and observe my interactions with others more astutely.
I've also realized that we all judge people. Every single one of us. Whether it is based off of their appearance, something they said, or how they even stand up...Reading others closely and properly is certainly a superpower in a world of distractions.
One more thing: The master of patience can be the master of anything.

65 now. I have spent my life figuring this out for myself. The book summarized my life lessons. My parents were narcissists and I married a covert one, That is the best lesson in understanding Human Nature a human can have. Started asking why at the age of 7 and have never stopped. I would say - look inside yourself for the cause of EVERYTHING that happens in your life and never be a victim or blame.

I’m in my 50’s and it seems like we’ve led a similar life, except for the fact that I also have a narcissistic child on top of a covert narcissist for a mate. I never knew that that condition is genetic, but I found out the hard way. Luckily through research I realized early on what I was dealing with, so knowledgeable really is power.

Whereas, you can see your true self and have the ability to see through all around you; however if you have grown a genuine hatred and disgust for (THEM); them being, those types, then you will still yield the floor to much of your superior advantage, because inside you really just want to stick in a FEMMA CAMP and turn the switch. ETC Whereas their banal ways will simply trigger you.*

I agree that we all have certain amounts of all these traits. Regarding narcissism, it is important to differentiate between having narcissistic tendencies (most of all us) and being disordered. Someone with NPD is not reading this book and self reflecting on what they can change about their compulsive behavior. The individual void of empathy has no reason to do so. Empathy allows us to be aware of the hurt and pain we cause others. Still a great book though.

So, I was reading this book last year. There's a chapter on grandiosity where Robert uses Michael Eisner as an example. But I could not help seeing similarities to a certain presidential candidate prominent when the book was released. What was really wild though was that the drama with Twitter was unfolding as I read and the descriptions seemed fit Elon Musk to a tee.

One of the greatest books I’ve ever read. Well almost read. It’s a little big. I got a few pages to go.

4 books; a little late. 1: “The Final Theory: Rethinking Our Scientific Legacy “, Mark McCutcheon for proper physics; I.e. now metaphysics can start. 2: “The Unique and Its Property “, Max Stirner,1844/2017 Landstreicher translation; I.e. now metaphysics can end. 3: “The Bible Came from Arabia “, Kamal Salibi,1985, plus his 3 other bible study books and blog for facts not fantasies. 4: “No Treason: the Constitution of No Authority, 1,2 and 6”, Lysander Spooner. That’s it folks!
