    Sitting is where I'd say 99% of my problems stem from. I get horrific sore hips, glutes tight hamstrings and my lower back.

    Oh my gosh I feel like you are talking directly to me every time! Just reviewed the same standing with my PT. sitting and using the breath really helps! Thank you!

    Checked back in with this as u said. What I'm finding is, other than my band of stomach tightness kicking in or my back aching, it's the feel of my breath. Where I've been so focused on deeper belly breaths, I'm probably forcing the breath to go there. I know u said again the breath is not as easy going there when standing, so I maybe need to feel more at ease on expanding my breath in my lungs and feeling that movement outwards there as my lungs are filling and in my back too 🙌 defo food for thought there and something to explore 🤔

    Thank you for sharing the video Jeannie. Do you have any advice for sitting, when one side of your pelvis is anterior tilted and the other side posterior tilted? It’s so difficult to get comfortable and know where my pelvis is or should be.

      I would focus on settling the pelvis, let it be heavy and widen into the seat.

    Great thanks. My issue is sliding forward on settee then it pulling on hips and my back. What tips have you for this please. My feet being off the floor when j sitbright back unless i use 2 cushions brhind me. Leather settee with blanket on due to the cold maybe doesnt help.

    Alwaya cushions in the gap that I have in my back. Thoracic pain, and sublaxations maybe causing lower back pain now too. Very hard with thoracic back pain to hold myself up sitting on a chair, needing to eat food standing up, blood pooling in legs then, and my back aches so much that I want to lay down most of the day on hard floor
    No amount of pillows work, but its good to know that I can try to look at weight in the pelvis, and the feet & grounding into floor to help with taking my mind off the pain and the feeling Im wanting to slouch to stop pain.
    Talked to every doctor and Chiro and Osteopath about the back that looks like im pregrant as does belly. Too much bend I think, maiing pot belly stick out.
    Many problems are going on. Not diagnosed for any but just feel Im not strong enougj to sit or not shaped right to sit.
    I cant breathe well a lot of the time- usually shallow. I dont know where to start other than my GP asking doctor for a diagnosis of something wrong???...only remedial massage helps, oher than that the Chiro aligns me monthly but sometimes causing more pain elsewhere or headaches, & iback pops out again and again, my neck keeps hurting, shoulders hurt, and hips, arms also despite chiro saying I adjusted well.
    I was told to pretend a string is running through my body and to putll up from nexk with that string, it helps but cant hold long enough to work, or eat, and get dizziness and overheat if exercise, so hoping sitting and standing wont hurt soon if I find what exercise works best to maybe work on my back and stomach muscle strength.
    Can you have a hypermobile spine, hips or shoulder area or is it only movable joints?. I have weird arms. They are hypermobile, I think? The seem to not be straight, but ive told Doctors and Chiro, and they dont seem to believe that means anything wity my inner arm pain, when I ask what is wrong with my arms they say nothing its not carpel tunnell pain they say. It makes me feel that being in pain and having arms like that will be my norm forever, Im 52, but im getting worse with pain and fatigue as I age. Thanks for your video. I have to find my sitting bones through lots of padding lol

    I've found I have a different problem with sitting. I can settle the pelvis and sit like that for a little bit, no breathing issues, and then feel like my upper back muscles get exhausted. Especially the paraspinal ones, to the point I get spasms in the thoracic area. The only solution so far has been laying flat relatively often to rest them. Do you have any suggestions for this?

    • @JeannieDiBonHypermobility
      @JeannieDiBonHypermobility  3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Yes I see this all the time. It’s because back muscles are weak and fatigue when asked to hold you up. You have to build up gradually.

    I have an issue while sitting, wherein something in my hip moves "forward" under the pelvis, after which my lower back gets locked in a bent posture. The only workaround for this is for me to force that "thing" in my hips backwards and then I'm able to sit straight, but within no time the hips "move forward" and I am once again locked in that bent posture.
    Any tips on this ?

    Can you teach me/us how to sit on the floor. I have to do work on the floor and it hurts my back.
