Oh my goodness, I’m actually crying a little bit after doing this (happy tears). Thank you so much for making this. This video is the perfect length, pace and intensity for me, my neck and upper back is feeling so much nicer and I don’t feel fatigued at all. Often the exercises I receive are far too intense and leave me sore in a bad way and exhausted. Thank you x100!!
Wow, even these small movements made my neck a little stiff and sore the next day. I have a forward facing neck (tech neck) and I am hypermobile - I am hoping to strengthen my neck to help pull it back a bit into a better position.
Wonderful! Physical Therapy has never been helpful for me because they never start gently like this. This is perfect for me, since I have a lot of weakness and pain in my neck and shoulders.
My neck has been giving me such grief recently, and I knew stretching wasn’t really helping. Looking forward to using these exercises to build a strong neck! The resources you provide for us zebras are invaluable: thank you so much for all your hard work!!
Thank you for this video!! I have been having SO much trouble with my neck and my sinuses for a couple of years now and I couldn’t figure out the cause. I went to the chiropractor recently and found out it was coming from my neck. My neck pops constantly and won’t stay in place, so I searched for how to help a hyper mobile neck and I found your video. I have only done these exercises for one day now, but I can already feel a huge difference, so from the bottom of my heart, I thank you!!! For the first time in several years I finally feel hopeful about getting better.
Thank you so much for sharing this! I just found out that I have EDS after 38 years of neck and back pain. I also have degenerative disc disease and had a triple disc fusion in my lower neck a year ago. I was not properly supported medically after that surgery so I am playing catch up now. I was properly supported medically after my double lumbar, S1 fusion in 2016. That's healed beautifully.
Thank you, Jeannie! I have EDS and have been having terrible trouble with my neck lately. I've just done this before bed and it has really helped relieve some pain so I can get comfortable!
Dear Jeannie, I have been suffering from daily headaches for 7 years - have been trying really hard to maintain all the joy and happiness in my life however it is really hard. Recently, my osteopath has mentioned that the pain comes from my overworked neck muscles (they are in a constant spasm) and hypermobility might be to blame. I have found your videos and I am so happy I did. Do you plan any additional neck exercise videos in order to stabiluze the deep postural muscles? Many thanks 🙏
Interesting I've never seen these type of exercises b4. I've always been given neck exercises from physiotherapy but nothing like this. I've usually been given stretches for the neck which I don't find helpful since it causes more pain. I'm currently bedbound due to my EDS/HSD and comorbidities plus other conditions which have flared up and I've been having physiotherapy at home which has only increased my pain and fatigue levels plus I've sprained my ankle (while being bedbound) and my subluxations are much more often due to the decoditiining. Physio has now discharged me because they said I haven't made any progress in a while even though I have but its just not fast enough for them and they have given me exercises that cause more pain. I have made progress in being able to transfer out of bed with equipment independently with 1 person helping me position the equipment. When physio started I could barely sit up on the edge of my bed independently without holding onto the bed with my arms for dear life to prevent me falling forwards. I told them the exercises cause more pain and that I need a different plan with isometric exercises and they looked at me and if I am crazy and don't know what I'm talking about and they are telling me that it's a step down from the exercises I currently have. I explained to them that that might be the case but I'm not managing to do my exercises due to the severity of my pain, fatigue, swelling, subluxations etc and yet they refused to look at the plan again they just discharged. Also on a bad day I can barely move even in my bed especially when my back is playing up cos I get nerve pain that feels like an electric shock. I get very severe sharp shooting stabbing burning electrical type pain quite often. Next time I'm able to sit up on the edge of my bed I think I will be trying the first few of these exercises (isometric ones) to see how they feel compared to how the stretches feel cos I don't feel like my neck is stable. In my opinion I don't need stretches I need stability exercises and ive been trying to figure out what to do since physio haven't helped with that and they have anyway discharged me. Sorry for such a long comment but I've been struggling for way too long without any answers really of what to do. It's been over a year now that I've been bedbound and I'm not getting apprioate advice, support and care. I've been let down by health and social care services as well as my education setting. This type of thing should not be happening but it is.

Amazing. You are a life saver. For the first time since my diagnosis, I have hope of recovery because of you. Thank you so much!
I’m so very happy to help.

Hope these help. Remember go low & slow if these are new for you. Start with one rep if necessary to build your tolerance up.

That’s great news. So happy this helped you 🙏🏻
I can already feel that these are better than what I was told to do by the "standard" PT. That wasn't working, it was making me feel worse.
I’m so glad they are helping
You're a lifesaver, this helps me so much
I’m so glad to hear 🙏🏻

Thank you 🙏🏻
Cannot believe how much this helped!
I’m so glad it helped.
Thanks, Jeannie; your explanations and instructions are really useful - I like your gentle pace too. ☺️
Thank you 🙏🏻
This really helps, with your explanation of which muscles we should be using, and how it looks/feels. Thank you.
Great thank you

That’s good news, so glad the videos are useful. The Zebra Club would be able to provide lots of videos on this issue.
This gives me hope
🙏🏻
This was really great. My neck felt better by the time I got to exercise 3!! I saved this one! Thank you.
Excellent news!
Another excellent video. Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it

These neck exercises really helped me! Amazing. Is there anyway you can post some wrist exercises videos? My wrists flop very easily and are unstable
Great they helped. Yes wrists coming up.
@@JeannieDiBonHypermobility thank you Jeannie!! My body has never felt so stable thanks to you!
Excellent news 👏
Brilliant Jeannie, thanks so much for this! 🤩
Thank you 🙏🏻
Great strengthening ! Do you have any thing with the jaw?
Not on here at present. In The Zebra Club yes.
@@JeannieDiBonHypermobility thank you will check it out! Keep up the great videos! Started a little note book of your pearls of wisdom!
Nice I like that thanks for sharing
Thank you 😊
I had my neck rebuilt. I had three corpectomies, and four-levels fused and spondelectomies, and I feel better
Glad you are feeling better
Hi Jeannie. For the last exercise, what do you do with the lower back and tailbone? Mine always wants to stick up 🤦♀️ and compress.
Is that the prone one you are talking about?
Excellent!
👍
Would this help with forward head posture as well as weakness?
Yes it can do over time.
Would it be recommended to do this every day or should we build up to every day?
Everyone is different so hard to say. Some can’t tolerate exercise every day. Listen to your body.
Unfortunately isometrics are still too much for my neck. 😖
Please avoid anything that’s not suitable for you.
