My cat will be getting this done. My mom’s skin is thin and she has cancer and can’t afford to get scratched from the cat she is extremely sensitive at this time this video is giving me me a way to keep both parents safe
Thanks for demonstrating. Too bad I didn’t watch your video first. I did a pretty good job, but the tip you had about filling all of them with glue first was invaluable. 👍
You didn't pinch each nail after putting them on. You even stated that the glue takes awhile to dry, kitty can bite off instantly. My experience, pinch each nail on both sides, hold 10 seconds, Better chance for nails to stay on and less chance to chew off.
Should I clip my cat's nails beforehand so they are blunt? Or should I let them be a little longer/pointy like the cat in the video so that it fills up more of the nail cap?
My kitten won't let me and my husband hold him long enough to trim his nails much less put the caps on. We are older and our skin is thin so the caps are great but we can't afford visits to the vet every 4 weeks for the application plus the price of caps. As bad as I hate to, I think we're going to have to go for declawing unless someone has a better suggestion.
I would really encourage you not to declaw your cat! Declawing involves cutting off the cat’s toe bone at the first knuckle joint to remove the nail bed- essentially mutilating the animal. This can lead to other behavioral problems such as increased biting as the cat now feels vulnerable and unable to defend itself. Try to get him used to nail trims by tiring him out with playing beforehand, distracting him with treats like Churus, or even a bit of catnip. Your vet may also be able to prescribe you some anti-anxiety medication to help calm him down enough for nail trims and cap applications. With time and continued positive reinforcement hopefully your kitten will get used to this process! I wish you guys the best of luck.
Have you ever had trouble removing them if they accidentally get glued up too high on the nail bed?? Will the glue just wear off overtime and still grow out or will this cause problems if initially too big & glued on too high? Thank you!
Over time the nail caps will start to fall off, however some still stick on and it is important to clip them off after 4-6 weeks so it doesn’t negatively affect or harm your cats nails😊 if you accidentally put them on too high you should have a few seconds to take them off before the glue dries!
I know this video's been up for a year but I had a question, is the glue waterproof? My cat tends to accidentally scratch me while taking her monthly bath and I just want to make sure they'll last so neither of us get hurt
They usually last 4-6 weeks and will fall off on their own, if they don’t fall off you can clip the tip of them off with nail clippers and the rest will slide off!

Thank you for the demonstration! You answered a lot of questions I had.

Thanks for the great demonstration! I appreciate you.
Great video! Ive got a rather silly question, but using this, should I still have places for scratching arlund the house?
Yes, scratching is a need for them. My cat still scratched at her post when she had caps on
Thank you for showing us how to do it.

Yes put them on before the bath and the water will help solidify them on 😇
Are these nail caps safe for cats? Does it hurt them or prevent the normal growth of nails????
They do not hurt them! You need to take them off every 6 weeks and put new ones on to avoid any problems with their nails
Did growing nail adjust with nail cap
The nail caps last 4-6 weeks and will typically fall off on their own. If not, you must clip them off and replace them!
What size are you using?
Small 😊
@@alexspawspa thank you

How do you remove them?
