As a grunt (0331) and having done 20+ mile long humps the only thing I can add to your initial advice is: Look down and remember this will end, like everything else.
Young Oorah that's why you do the medium fade. Or medium high. My fade wasnt as high as yours in the video but it was pretty much the same. I think it looks good dawg. On me, you and almost anyone. I got girls with it and I assume u do too lol. I dig the fauxhawk. Anyway bro I love your videos bro. I'm a reservist too just finished MCT. Semper Fi. I'm Motor Tuh lol what's your MOS?
Usmc assault pack. Part of the FILBE pack system. Even the worn out ones we used in boot camp were nice and comfortable. You can buy similar aftermarket packs in black if coyote tan isn't up your alley.
Bruh west coast hiking is no fucking joke. I live in the Santa Cruz mountains and that shit is hard. I can only imagine what boot camp will be like for me at MCRD San Diego
Great stuff Marine, still sticking with your videos. Very helpful, funny, and down to earth. Keep it up leather neck, semper fi! Btw. F that professor, corps over everything
bamarocks777 I went through boot camp and MCT and saw the sheets which at the top clearly stated 84 pounds I squat over 300. So 84 isn't a lot, but calling bullshit without proof is like calling your mom and wondering why she's with another man besides your dad. It's a stupid thing to point out and you know you shouldn't do it.
twopoint Takedown hahaha bud MCT? Easiest 3 weeks of your life. And there were sheets with the weights on them in boot camp? Don't know how you got those. They include everything on those packing lists like cammies, boots, and stupid shit like that. 84 lbs is a lot even in ITB I don't think I've ever carried that much. In the fleet that's like our average pack plus we don't pack our plate carriers.
I agree that you got a raw deal if you were told or led to believe it woukdn't be a problem. In my school it woukd be a problem. That has nothing to do with "conservative" or "liberal."
Cris TheCompass hmm. I would just start running. but I would do something like sprint 400m then walk 400m. then sprint 300m then walk 300m. all the way until you get to 100m then you go back up. then I would do something like a 2 minute jog, then sprint for 30 or 15 seconds in the middle of that jog. then walk for however long you want until you catch your breath. for everything else I'd just tell you to go do crossfit. it works out fucking everything and it's kinda like getting IT'D or smoked. the fact that your looking for information makes you above the rest. good luck man
One trick I learned for hiking up hills is to lock your knees after each step to give your muscles a short break (your ligaments take the load instead when your knee is locked). The trick with adjusting your pack to go up and down hills was very cool!
I got an infantry contract and i was searching for this type of video for the longest, appreciate it my man.
Kirapk sweet bro! My contract is Infantry too. Leaving to bootcamp in 3 days
Francisco Castillo ahh 17 days for me
Kirapk oh shit I'm going to San Diego. Where you going man

As a grunt (0331) and having done 20+ mile long humps the only thing I can add to your initial advice is: Look down and remember this will end, like everything else.
Hateplow 0331 thats a really good one tbh. I just stared at the pack in front of me
Hateplow 0331 we aren’t aloud to look down anymore.
That's good. I'll keep that, will end like everything else . . .
Hell yea brother, thank you. I just got my 03 contract and ship out July 10th. You make it easier to say motivated man.

*2 minutes later*

One tip I can give, is sing songs in your head, it takes your mind off it.
i agree!
*Eyes on the deck
*Lean into it
*One foot in front of the other
*No batching, nobody cares
* Keep up
Fuck everything else
This was so helpful. omg I’m short ugh.😭 & on base the hills are usually inclined most of the hike.
You still in?
Bro, running is the worst thing to do on hikes because it fucks all the people behind you, if you're falling out get to the fucking side.
Good place to go hiking there. I love that place
True Grunt gentlemen. He talked all the way up that hill and is barely breathing. 💪😎
4:48 what did he say?
POG ass bitch. POG = Persons other than Grunt
Dang bro that professor needs fired. Good video btw. Hikes always suck, like you said how the weight is on your back makes all the difference.
“Hey, fuckers.” Best way ever to start a briefing or class.
thanks for the tips. i leave to bootcamp monday to san diego
I’m sure next time I have to bring my stand and bait (95 pounds) I’ll use these tactics. Thanks
The spriting part's true. I'd rather shuffle up hill, than getjust as exhausted taking heavy steps, but that's not always easy if in a column.. :/
Lazerline hahaha well i guess i meant to keep light on your feet and use momentun but hard not to screw over the guys behind ahhahah
Nice video man, keep up the good work!
You deserve more subscribers, just keep grinding man!
Bro you're making me miss my old hair lol, I had that same haircut before I joined, in the process of growing it back tho, well at least the top haha
honestly i used to have it, not anymore, longer hair gets more girls. High and tight make you too toolish. they dont like that XD
Young Oorah that's why you do the medium fade. Or medium high. My fade wasnt as high as yours in the video but it was pretty much the same. I think it looks good dawg. On me, you and almost anyone. i appreciate this video man since im leaving at may 15,
One thing that helped me is having that base of aerobic endurance. So xc and track, hiking is a big part of itb. You'll get dropped if you can't hike.
Where can i get that same backpack he’s got on???
Hiking in the marines is easy shit. Try hiking on a handcrew in Calfire.
Hey man that’s a cool
Pack! Was that issued or did you buy it?!
bought it
Young Oorah nice what type is it. I’m looking for one like that with a camel pack in it!
Usmc assault pack. Part of the FILBE pack system. Even the worn out ones we used in boot camp were nice and comfortable. You can buy similar aftermarket packs in black if coyote tan isn't up your alley.
Swinging arms is great and all when your not carrying a 13lbs rifle

Haden Miller the one in boot and MCT is like 84 pounds

can you give good workout advice or tips for preparation to boot camp
Cris TheCompass hmm. I would just start running. but I would do something like sprint 400m then walk 400m. then sprint 300m then walk 300m. all the way until you get to 100m then you go back up.

the fact that your looking for information makes you above the rest. good luck man

What pack is he wearing? I would like to get one.
Bro do you have a job, being that as a reservist isn't huge pay?
Saul Viera yes

There’s no real technique. Just repetition.
as bad as it seems, i'd be glad if that professor losses her job. Either she hates jarheads or she's racist.
she hates me i think LOL
Boot
