As an adult with new perspective, it’s not surprising Chris was kinda losing it. As a young teen seeing it unfold, I thought he was just being rude and selfish. But, with age, I can’t help but feel bad for him. Seeing him leave the warped stage with a broken ankle and just being swarmed just really hurt my heart and just made me see how overwhelming his life was

this was probably one of my fav bands from like 2007-2010(the emo/scene phase), thank you so much for these, making me revisit my past. excellent research and organization btw. and excellent nails haha.
This was so worth the wait! I got to agree with Time Travel being one of their best songs. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on Black Cat. ALSO if anyone has a copy of BigCityDreams off that Ep PLEASE upload it to TH-cam or send it to me!! That recording was tight af and I haven’t been able to find it in years. None of the other live cuts come close. Keep it up my man!
thanks so much!! :) ya im def excited to talk about black cat in the next vid, that was a really cool era and definitely a very "full circle" moment for Chris and NSN. also, which version of big city dreams are you referring to? i know the whole Yippee EP is on spotify and all that
The Cozy Representative the live ep version where he says something like ‘this song is called big city dreams, lets get our ass out of town’ at the start. The live recording is so freaking tight.
@@mixedsocks2362 ahh right! i know what you're talking about!! i used to have that on my old computer haha. i also haven't heard that in years but if i find it i will let you know!
If you go on Spotify. And look up never shout never. And click see discography and scroll down to where it says EP and it's the EP he dropped for hot topic the one before what is love and it's on there. It says big city dreams live. And he says let's get our ass out of town.
I was a HUGE Never Shout Never friend 2010-2012 and this brought me right back to that time in my life. So excited for part 3- I have vague awareness about his work past that but no where close to the detail you will undoubtedly go into.
As a die hard NSN fan, I appreciated all the time and effort you put into parts 1 & 2 and I can't wait to watch part 3 that just came out as I am writing this :) It would be so cool if you made a series on Lana Del Rey! She has over 200 unreleased songs and several albums she put out and used other aliases other than Lana Del Rey. Thank you for all your hard work ❤️
clearly that time travel live clip was the best theyd ever sounded musically. idk how ive watched so much of this without really listening to nsn before but you're making it very enjoyable lol
I never was into these guys super hard back in the day but watching this series has shown me how interesting a project like Never Shout Never is. Please don’t stop making videos they’re all so good
his body language in the interviews shows extreme anxiety. Probably from exhaustion. I mean, I'm no doctor. Definitely feel for this dude. I'm sure he's super nice.
I remembered when that tornado hit joplin in 2011 and worrying if his friends and family were ok, Im not surprised he was so fuckin stressed around that time.
those vlogs you played in the beginning gave me such a nostalgic kick in the face. I remember that masterpiece of a cereal eating video. I loved Jane Doe and Mailbox and all those snippets he gave us back then. that was such good time for me, because this music was really all I had back then. it's crazy how his music career changes and my growing up seemed to always be in line. his albums would match my mood so perfectly (until I gave up on music after harmony came out, not because of him, but I just stopped listening to music and stuff around that time, right before time travel had come out.) Going through these videos is reminding me so much of a time in my life that I constantly long to remember but also actively try to forget and it's weird how much such a simple internet/music history video can make me reflect on myself and think just so much. thank you for making these. it's like this incredibly weird kind of therapy for me right now. maybe this is all just the quarantine talking though.
Met him at a three day event at different tillies in my area for the release of black cat, I met him every day and he was so kind and genuine. On the third day I saw him after the show and he teared up thanking me for coming all three days and for the support.
Omg i’m literally in 11:53 of part 2 but already fell in love with this dude and songs he used to make! I guess this is how Soft-rock-for-girls genre is started
Can’t wait for part three! This series has me so hooked I used to be so so obsessed with NSN back in the day and I’ve never seen anyone do this types of videos on Chris/ the band before!
Dude I love these videos, you earn a new subscriber, It feels good to see nevershoutnever have recognition cause they been away for so long and now I know so much about them and Chris, it kinda makes me sad to see Chris evolve but it makes me glad cause he was doing what he wanted and didn’t care what other people thought, but you have to do more of these cause this is so entertaining, hope you have a good day and thank you 🙏🏻.
I'm a bit older and have never heard of the bands that you cover, but your videos are really well made, entertaining, and informative. Great work. Keep it up.
I was at warped tour 2010 and I was sooo disappointed because he didn't play our cities part of the tour after he broke his leg! This series you've got is giving me so many flashbacks!! So well done!!
Honestly I found Chris or NSN through Pandora when I got my first phone ever and I fell in love with his amazing acoustic sounds when I was only 12. About two years ago I finally got to see him in concert playing his album Black Cat which I love so much but the Yippee EP will always be top tier for me . I’m glad he has changed so much and experimented with his music. A lot of artists try and fail. To me each one of his albums just showed how talented he is and how much he can grow with each song he writes. He deserves better and to this day I think about how crazy it is how he was so young going through the rough circumstances of his parents divorce and just trying to grow up while gaining a huge amount of success in music. I have a lot of respect for him.
Oh wow this video is an hr!!! We are all so lucky haha. I love these videos. Bring back the 2009 vibes yessss. Yes I totally thought the ready set was the same guy as never shout never, the things I learn.. little did I know
as a HUGE never shout never fan, this is insanely informative and includes information i didnt even know, and i thought i knew everything lol. this series is amazing, thank you!
Your videos have been taking me down a nostalgia time warp. They’re so fleshed out and really help me get through my days I’m working. Please keep doing what you’re doing, it’s great!
the first part of this was in my recommendeds today and while watching this I figured I'd have to wait for part 3 but it was just posted yesterday I'm very excited. Spent all day watching videos on a dude I've never heard of, these videos are very good.
hi!!! i am extremely grateful for you making this!!! xoxo this feels like a time capsule to me in a way. your commentary/delivery/personal narrative feels somehow so ,, !! completely and perfectly in-line with what i felt through all of these stages of NSN. i smiled & laughed so many times during this video bc you were saying things that i would have literally said myself !! nuts.., .is this making any sense o god ?? anyway!!! loved being reminded of this part of my life. i remember following the sadboi times ,, n going hard as frick to time travel when it came out!! yeehaw!! ok thank you for this rlly nicely broken-down, honest storytelling abt Our Hero™. loved seeing all the live performances n seeing all the wack hot topic outfits everyone used to wear. gOd i love being a nostalgic emo thakn u this was the most perfect video ive ever seen in my whole life//best sEriEs !!! heck ya keep it up proud of u :~)
Honestly thank you for making this series. I grew up in Southwest Missouri, alittle younger than Chris, and this floods back so many memories of watching his journey as a person (and adversely my own, because of my slight obsession with him as a younger teen). Very well put together 🤘
I just found these videos and they have been really fun to watch, mostly because half of the band members now live in my home town in Arkansas. I actually worked with Hayden for a year about 2 years ago and he’s a really nice guy though very quite. I never got into this band but it’s funny to see people I know showing up in these videos and finding out that they were pretty dang successful musicians.
Last time I saw Hayden I was working with him at a screen printing company and Taylor and his wife are entrepreneur’s here. They seem to be doing pretty good. Taylor is super active in our town and I see him literally everywhere. I never knew he was in NSN
How your vids dont get more views is a true tragedy. Your research and delivery are so on point. I've watched your multi part exposes a few times now. Keep it up dude.
this is amazing thank you so very much! and don't apologize for the time, I absolutely appreciation someone finally talking about this whole bands life
Looking back, I would have definitely been in the same position if I started a band when I was a scene kid. I liked so many different kinds of music and grew up on the Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Arlo Guthrie, Joni Mitchell, and the Beatles. There’s no way I would have stuck with being a regular scene band and would have definitely incorporated psychedelic rock and folk into my music. At the same time, I also think I would have experimented with drugs earlier and more frequently just by being around it. After turning 18 I just smoked weed a couple times per year and did LSD twice, but I was so scared of getting caught that I never tried any earlier. I haven’t smoked weed in over a year because of my job, but scene kid me would have definitely been a stoner if I was in just the right environment where there were less repercussions.
Dude these videos are so well put together! You’ve gained a new fan forsure you’re super entertaining and I really appreciate all the work you put into these videos it really showed! I speak for myself and probably a lot of other people these videos took me on such an awesome blast from the past. Keep at it man!
I was such a big fan of his. I remember in 2013 I went to a meet n great/ show n it was free. Anyways not everyone could get in I was one of the few out. And he would wave at everyone. And sings songs and yell in the microphone "im sorry you guys couldnt get in I love you" ugh so wholesome. And the girls are so sweet. After they got done meeting him they gave there wristbands to us and I was one of them I got to meet him an the whole band. I'm 19 now and this is just sooo nostalgic
How did he end up? Did anything serious happen? Didn’t he retire? I follow him on instagram, but all he posts is photos of his vegan food. I know he looks hella different now. He’s got more face tattoos and looks super strung out and rough. It’s dealt depressing tbh.
you should do a video about the history of dance gavin dance!! Btw this video and part one are beautifully done. I can't even express how awesome they are.
The Harmony album is one of my fave albums of all time. It had everything in it. Trailblazed the combination of guitar and harmonica YES Christofer Drew did that HAHAH. I've been a fan since I was 12 and I watched him since his early days. When I was younger I didn't understand the complete change of his attitude throughout his career and now 23 I completely understand he got famous way too young and got burned out long the way.I will always love him as an artist and I hope he never stops making music. Fun Fact: Chris has A KID now the awkward teenage boi from 2007 has a family now. WILD also puts cooking vids his ig stories WILDER. . I'm glad he's happy now.
I'm so happy that the first part was recommend to me by youtube, you seem to really enjoy talking about music and it was really well done and interesting!

@The Cozy Representative i need you to know this fine sir, i was SUPPOSED to be working on some very VERY important work that is time-sensitive and tbh the deadline is tmrw, so i was in damage control mode trying to scramble and get it done in time. came to youtube to have some music in the backround whilst i finished this crucial project... and then came this(part1 to be exact) in my recommended. i thought id take a glance. no harm, right? WRONG. here we are now at THE HR LONG (every second was perfect, glad you didnt tryto shorten it. my project deadline is not glad though) part 2, with part 3 now im a newly made queue of your awesome vids. love watching you. loved the fact also you flashedthe blog posts, with the option mentioned to pause to read if preferred. how thoughtful. for the record, i paused every one. more time not on my project. you have gained a new subscriber. love you personality. not to "put-on" , excessive-nor to slow or boring or mean. everything. i love you. im possibly going to lose my house now though. but soooooo worth it! id do it again. well, lets see how i feel after they take my house. but until then, cheers!

@@taniajs subculture??? and what exactly was the meaning to it. because i cant think of any... and this is coming from a former emo kid myself. 90's baby
@@shawntayann eboys and egirls aren't scene/emo
I listened to NSN from 6th grade to the early part of my freshmen year. When Time Travel I had stopped listening. Now that I’m older and have had more “experience” I can really appreciate what Time Travel is and it’s definitely going on my playlist
this was probably one of my fav bands from like 2007-2010(the emo/scene phase), thank you so much for these, making me revisit my past. excellent research and organization btw. and excellent nails haha.
Jane Doe and Sacrilegious were some of my favorite never shout never songs eventhough you said they were forgettable
Thank you for all your hard work ❤️
I love lana also but I think the focus of this channel is on the scene /emo /MySpace music era of the mid 2000's /early 2010s
R M you're totally right, didn't consider that!! :)
clearly that time travel live clip was the best theyd ever sounded musically. idk how ive watched so much of this without really listening to nsn before but you're making it very enjoyable lol
I never was into these guys super hard back in the day but watching this series has shown me how interesting a project like Never Shout Never is. Please don’t stop making videos they’re all so good
Really appreciate these videos, never shout never was my life and I’m happy to watch these.
his body language in the interviews shows extreme anxiety. Probably from exhaustion. I mean, I'm no doctor. Definitely feel for this dude. I'm sure he's super nice.
You feel so genuinely sincere with all your commentary. I didn’t realize how big of I fan I used to be of nsn. What a fun ride you documented! Thanks!
I remembered when that tornado hit joplin in 2011 and worrying if his friends and family were ok, Im not surprised he was so fuckin stressed around that time.
yo bro i love that you are covering this scene that hardly gets coverage like this! love the nostalgia
You're an epic scene historian my man. Love your work, keep it up! Posting this before I check your channel out but I hope you did one on etf
Lol yep you did do one. Brb fam gonna go check that out ❤❤❤
now part two of the escape the fate vs falling in reverse beef

those vlogs you played in the beginning gave me such a nostalgic kick in the face.
“Songs teenage girls are gonna grow out of” not me still randomly singing his songs at 30 on any given day 😭
Bruh please tell me the last part will come out at some point I’m legitimately shaking at this cliff hanger
Dude I love these videos, you earn a new subscriber,
It feels good to see nevershoutnever have recognition cause they been away for so long and now I know so much about them and Chris, it kinda makes me sad to see Chris evolve but it makes me glad cause he was doing what he wanted and didn’t care what other people thought, but you have to do more of these cause this is so entertaining, hope you have a good day and thank you 🙏🏻.
thank you so much friend! appreciate it :)
The Cozy Representative when are we gonna get another vid about nevershoutnever ?
@@Exp189 very soon! :)
Just found your channel from your Brian Stars Video then watched both NSN ones. These are amazing! Great research can't wait for the third one 😁👍 👍
I'm feeling so nostalgic rn
I guess once you're one of the original scene kids it never leaves you,and now I want my flippy hair back
Oh wow this video is an hr!!! We are all so lucky haha. I love these videos. Bring back the 2009 vibes yessss. Yes I totally thought the ready set was the same guy as never shout never, the things I learn.. little did I know
haha! yo thanks for the kind words and thanks for watching!! i appreciate it :)
as a HUGE never shout never fan, this is insanely informative and includes information i didnt even know, and i thought i knew everything lol. this series is amazing, thank you!
“Chris can’t seem to please himself with his releases”
🤔
The fact that I remember that cereal video so vividly is triggering
Can not explain how your videos have made me feel... it’s 6:21 am and I’ve been watching this series...
I never got into any of these bands when I was younger. But for some reason this series is really interesting. Great content!!
Your videos have been taking me down a nostalgia time warp. They’re so fleshed out and really help me get through my days I’m working. Please keep doing what you’re doing, it’s great!
I Appreciate part 2 bro , keep uploading the CONTENT ! 🔥
thanks yo!!
I NEEDED these videos thank you so much for taking the time to make these and pushing me down a rabbit hole of nostalgia 💗
the first part of this was in my recommendeds today and while watching this I figured I'd have to wait for part 3 but it was just posted yesterday I'm very excited. Spent all day watching videos on a dude I've never heard of, these videos are very good.
hi!!! i am extremely grateful for you making this!!! xoxo this feels like a time capsule to me in a way. your commentary/delivery/personal narrative feels somehow so ,, !! completely and perfectly in-line with what i felt through all of these stages of NSN. i smiled & laughed so many times during this video bc you were saying things that i would have literally said myself !! nuts.., .is this making any sense o god ?? anyway!!! loved being reminded of this part of my life. i remember following the sadboi times ,, n going hard as frick to time travel when it came out!! yeehaw!! ok thank you for this rlly nicely broken-down, honest storytelling abt Our Hero™. loved seeing all the live performances n seeing all the wack hot topic outfits everyone used to wear. gOd i love being a nostalgic emo thakn u this was the most perfect video ive ever seen in my whole life//best sEriEs !!! heck ya keep it up proud of u :~)
thank u so so much!!!!
Dude these are so good lol
I really hope that your channel explodes
Honestly thank you for making this series. I grew up in Southwest Missouri, alittle younger than Chris, and this floods back so many memories of watching his journey as a person (and adversely my own, because of my slight obsession with him as a younger teen). Very well put together 🤘
i guess you could say that by looking up this video you’re searching for nostalgia 🤣
Wow sir Whats hayden andtaylor doing now?
Last time I saw Hayden I was working with him at a screen printing company and Taylor and his wife are entrepreneur’s here. They seem to be doing pretty good. Taylor is super active in our town and I see him literally everywhere. I never knew he was in NSN
@@jayperz thanks man im glad they doing fine. Can you say hi to me to hayden and taylor never shout never philippines love them..hope they come back 😊
@@jayperz this two are legend. thank you man
Hey you’re really handsome! Lol! Your personality shines thru these videos more than some docu series and I love it.
Keep at it man!
thank you so much! :)
He was very talented. It’s so sad to see how he’s ended up, I hope he’s really getting better
How did he end up? Did anything serious happen? Didn’t he retire? I follow him on instagram, but all he posts is photos of his vegan food. I know he looks hella different now. He’s got more face tattoos and looks super strung out and rough. It’s dealt depressing tbh.
37:36 I just want to say RIP Mitch Lucker. The first thing my eyes gravitated to was Mitch and his tats.
Thank you so much for this comment, noticed Mitch too and it made me tear up. 💙🌌
This channel is a hidden gem ✨
YES!! i’m so excited to watch
I really appreciate how long and thorough these are
I like how long the videos are. You always keep me interested for the whole duration
I can not thank you enough for making these videos!! Great job. I appreciate how much time and work you put into them
you should do a video about the history of dance gavin dance!!
Can't wait for part 3!!! This is a cool series! NSN was my favorite!
thanks so much!! :)
Omg I had that same shirt!! Thank you for bringing back these memories
totally! thanks for watching!!
I'm so happy that the first part was recommend to me by youtube, you seem to really enjoy talking about music and it was really well done and interesting!
Thank you for making these videos, it shows how hard u worked & I appreciate🥰 Loved NSN and now I’m binging old songs and getting all nostalgic ✨
I love the way you describe things. I never listened to this band but you make me want to hear the songs just because you have a fun way of describing things .
WRONG. here we are now at THE HR LONG (every second was perfect, glad you didnt tryto shorten it. my project deadline is not glad though) part 2, with part 3 now im a newly made queue of your awesome vids. love watching you. loved the fact also you flashedthe blog posts, with the option mentioned to pause to read if preferred. how thoughtful. for the record, i paused every one. more time not on my project. you have gained a new subscriber. love you personality. not to "put-on" , excessive-nor to slow or boring or mean. everything. i love you. im possibly going to lose my house now though. but soooooo worth it! id do it again. well, lets see how i feel after they take my house. but until then, cheers!
also, can you tell me what your handle means? like, do you represent cozy people? whats cozy? cozy who? do tell. ill be waiting...
i've never even heard of NSN, somehow your video came up (part 1) and it was so interesting and informative and well put together that i couldn't stop watching! i wanna see part 3 !!
You've put so much work into these videos, honestly way better than any other youtube could. I am very excited too see a part 3, those last 3 albums and their Recycled Youth album they did were my favorites.
hey thank you so much for saying that! i appreciate it a lot :) agreed, those last few albums were super great and totally overlooked too. im excited to talk about them! thanks for watching!!
these videos made me love their Time Travel album again which makes me very happy. Time Travel is one of those albums where every track was fucking amazing. would never skip a single track, i can only say that for a handful of records
