So this is the third (and maybe final?) exclusive figure with a base. This is the same Kylo Ren we got on Force Friday, but just like Luke Skywalker and Rey before him, he has some differences! And a fun surprise! Check it out!

Just picked this up for $7 at my local Wal-Mart on clearance today. I was planning to buy it at full price but when I saw $7 I was not about to leave it on the shelf. Now I need a snoke with throne to go with it.

I bought the Throne Room box this morning, and just uploaded a video review myself. After watching your video, I realized that someone swapped out the Kylo Ren that I was supposed to get. At first I was angry, but now I'm not 100% sure I will return it because I think I actually prefer the rubber cape. I might also be okay with the red scar not being painted. I could probably just use a red pen to run over it. Excellent review man! I'm subbing to your channel.
that sucks! i've seen this figure in the wild a few times now over the last month. But today I found one that was similar. The box was open and someone swapped the figure inside for the regular release one. Dick move. thanks for joining the party!

And this for $20. I bought Kylo, I the first Kylo they put out with TFA. Started collecting again recently and have been wanting a good unmasked version, this seems like the best likeness they’ve done

Great review. I just stuck with the standard release. Figured I probably wasn't gonna find the exclusive in stores, and I really don't mind the plastic cape. Kinda wish I had the throne room part to add to Snoke's throne though.
i didnt even know this was coming out until way after i got the standard release. But as soon as i heard Snoke's throne connects to it, i knew i wanted it.
Mike Kylo Rene lightsaber is made out of di cast in this so I was wondering does the paint chip off because on the other ones the Saber is made from translucent red then painted so is this light saber painted over translucent plastic ?

Wish my wally world carried half the shit they're supposed to carry. I love the packaging. And he comes with his alternate head helmet...NICE. Don't know how I feel about the soft goods cape. Gonna have to see it in hand. The "bath toy" throne looks good with the added pieces. WOW Great review brother. 👍
Wally World is shit for carrying exclusives anyways. I would be very surprised if I ever saw this in a store.
I held off on a TLJ Kylo specifically for this release. Honestly, I’m glad I did. Now I definitely need Snoke to complete the diorama. Also the lightsaber hilt does fit in that slot. You just gotta finagle it a little. And yeah the cape loses some details, but it lays better on the figure. Plus, die cast pieces are cool! Didn’t need to do that but I’m very glad they did
That’s fair. I’m still kinda disappointed with it a bit, but playing with it a bit more it’s growing on me. It still bugs me they didn’t paint his scar down his neck like they did on his face.
I just got the Kylo set for $7 also!!!!! It looks killer with the Snoke throne.... Thing is there is another one still at the local Wal-Mart for$7 and I might have to pick it up just because its $7...I suck

I was deciding if I should get this first or the standard version first, but now i really want the Throne Room Kylo Ren version first for sure. Glad they included his mask. Bummed out he destroyed it in The Last Jedi, but I understand why so they can have the character develop.

It bummed me out when he smashed it the first time I saw it, but the more I thought about it, it fits in character with what he was saying about letting the past die, he knew everyone thought of him as a vader wannabe, snoke even mocked him for it, so him smashing the helmet is symbolic of him shedding his wannabe persona and becoming who he was meant to be.
I always reuse the blade from the first Kylo Ren figure with the new hilts. I hate that they went the Vintage Collection route.

Normal black series figs go for $30 cad. Walmart has it for $34, but the walmart site only had it up for like 1 hour and they took it down. Ridiculous!

Yeah... I've been searching for this set. Sad thing is, I saw this a while back and I absolutely could have bought it, but I didn't think anything of it. Since then I've been SOL. Just looked again today on my way home from work and nothing... And of course, online they are going for ridiculous prices! I'm going to keep looking, but I may have to break down and pay these absurd prices.

Just missed it I guess... I was on the last couple days at day and night, and it was listed as sold out. I went ahead and put in my email for notifications... But, that's hit or miss with Walmart. I must have just missed the restock.
The Base and better painted head are the Only 2 reasons I want this set. The Cape is HORRIBLE! I am one of those people who usually prefer Softgoods, but the molded Vinyl/Rubber Cape looks so much better than that cloth thing. The original images showed a printed detail on the cape that helped a little, but the Molded Cape is far more accurate. I really don't care about the metal Head/Helmet or Saber Hilt either, but That Base! The Base alone is worth the difference to me, because it completes Snoke's Throne.
Yeah I agree. The cape is a let down. But the base and head are pretty cool. Snoke on his throne looks even better with Kylo’s base.
Maybe it’s just me but it appears the exclusive has a longer neck. Does the original actually have the scar on the neck? I couldn’t see in the video.
Idk what it is either, but I did a head swap with the standard release TLJ Kylo unmasked and the Starkiller Base Kylo helmet and the head goes much further down on that figure. It looks worse on the standard release because it makes Kylo look like he doesn't have much of a neck, but at the same time, you also don't see his skin. I'm not sure if I did something wrong when swapping the heads, but my Kylo's helmet is way further down on the neck.
yes... i dont get why he dont acknowledge that... he clearly have longer neck and i think its a different sculpt in the head too,, its leaner, it has more details on the head... but i think the paint job is worse... it looks shiny and pale compared to the original release.... why... is.... he.... not.... NOTICING THIS
Awesome set, I really like the scar and helmat with the cloth cape, the scar looks amazing. i really like the cloth cape because I do stop motions so having a really clothy cape makes it look more realistic because you can see the movement and creases in the cape as he walks. It's kinda a shame that i have the standed Kylo Ren because I don't like getting doubles and the paint applications for the standed Kylo Ren does not look very good. I might still get that Kylo Ren because it is amazing and because I want him with a helmet and scar. also because it would go well with my Snoke!!
i agree, the scar looks great, i just wish they painted it on his neck like they did his face.
My Kylo's head is on the joint super tight... I haven't pulled it off to try the masked head because I'm afraid to break it.
It’ll pop off. The paint might be making it a little tight, but it comes off.

I honestly don't know why they still use Kylo's helmet in merchandise, and photos. He only wears it for about 2:00 mins. of the movie
Because something is better than nothing! I would much rather a figure come with an accessory used for a few minutes in the movie than no accessory at all.

This kylo is world's better then the first release. I gotta pick this up. So wait? The helmet and the lightsaber hilt are diecast metal? Black series never does that do they?
Yeah on the releases in boxes like this, they have diecast accessories. Luke came with a metal hand. Rey cane with a metal blaster and lightsaber hilt.
Christopher Leusner Hasbro started adding Die Cast Pieces to these "Deluxe" Exclusives with This Kylo, The Rey on Crait also has a Die Cast Saber Hilt and Gun, and the Luke on Ach-to has a Die Cast Fist.

was going to get this, but then i seen the movie, and after watching reviews on this what a bunch of bs, he has a black band aid over his scar and then has a machine heals it to more of the first version scar,that cape is not what they showed in the promo pic, they should have just added a smashed helmet he only wore the helmet what five seconds in the film, his pants were black not brown. rant over
thats a fair rant. I think he's easily the worst of these types of figures. lots of weird inconsistencies. Although I liked the movie, i agree with your rant for the most part!

@@proudkiwi7641 40th anniversary darth vader (one of, if not the best darth vader action figure), boba fett, dengar, ig 88, zuckuss, 4-lom, commander cody, commander gree, captain rex, commander wolffe, all of the troopers, revan, mace windu, general grievous, bossk, emperor's royal guard and tarkin are amongst the best I've seen. I'd recommend these or any character that isn't helmetless and from 2013-17. Since last year they have been using a new method of paint application to make the faces more realistic and any old characters that don't look that great in the face department will most likely be getting an update in the archive sub line. Characters like pilot luke, anakin and yoda are already being released in the archive line and look better than their original black series release.
So in short, if a character is in the archive line (currently boba fett, bossk, ig88 and hoth luke, soon to be released are anakin, yoda, darth maul and scout trooper) then get the archive version because they will look better and will be cheaper. Pretty much any alien and helmeted character is fine and any helmetless character from 2018-present.
Characters i would avoid are qui gon jinn, emperor palpatine, poe dameron and slave leia are a few that come to mind. Palpatine isn't terrible but a new version of him is coming out with his throne, alternate lightning hands and three swappablw heads that are all way better looking. The others are just seriously dated and will most likely get released in the archive line in the future with better faces ect.
If i had to give you three must haves then they would be boba fett, 40th anniversary darth vader and either stormtrooper, sandtrooper or snowtrooper. They are three classic characters that you can't really go wrong with. The empire strikes back bounty hunters are all great too.

@@MikeKaess I usually always check the figures I want to buy on Shartimus Prime, unfortunately he didn't have this figure on video, so I decided to watch this video. But I find a bad analysis, Ben's face is different in this figure, he says that they are the same, there are other errors that I do not remember, but I do not plan to see this video again. If you check the videos of the person I am telling you, you will see that the analysis is better and he really likes the figures, this guy makes me not want to collect anything.
you are incorrect. the face is the exact same sculpt. the only difference is the paint. But oooh noooo you won't watch any more of my videos. What ever will i do with my life?

@@CesarOmar_Y2J but its just weird how wrong you are. Three of these sets were made with bases. Rey, Luke, and Kylo Ren. They all share the exact same sculpts as their regular retail releases with the exception of use of soft goods and premium paint and some die cast accessories.
Other than the paint, the face sculpt is the exact same. If it looks different, its the paint the makes it look that way.
I love taking critiques of my work, and if I'm wrong I'm wrong. But in this, I am not wrong.
