Even to this day, Jeremy Irons' line delivery as Scar, Mufasa's screaming as he plummeted to his death, and Simba's agonized scream as he watched his father die helplessly, still give me goosebumps and chills. Such an amazing work of art. And that cat's reaction is great. The moment Mufasa died, the cat jumped off the bed and went to the screen as if it was trying to enter the world itself and comfort Simba.
When this movie came out.. it was about the time we lost our Dad. Our oldest brother rented the movie for us to watch over the weekend and so the six of us (ages ranging between 22 and 15) watched it on awe for we all appreciated Disney’s productions. When this scene appeared we all were silent and by the end of it.. there wasn’t, I tell you, wasn’t an eye not tearful. Our wound was still raw. Rest in peace, Dad. 💐

The most heartbreaking scenes from animated films for me are Mufasa's death, the beginning of Oliver and Company, the dwarves crying around Snow White's casket and the hieroglyphics scene in Prince of Egypt where the kids are snatches from their mothers. Absolutely painful scenes to watch. This cat gets it.
I can add many more. Superman scene from iron giant, first 5 minutes of Up, silver’s speech to Jim in treasure planet… there are plenty, all of them are good

My siblings have all agreed on these scenes having a huge effect on us.
