I love that you chose this topic. I am a stay at home mom that use to work as a teacher. I have always loved feminine modest fashion and particularly gravitated towards vintage. Even in my high school days I dressed in 40s/50s fashion. Then I met. My husband finished college and had kids. Once I started staying home it became tempting to not “dress up” meaning leggings, sweats, or pajamas all the time. I even started wearing my husbands clothes. I felt like I had to leave those days of dresses and pretty outfits behind because I was just going to get dirty anyways. I felt silly getting dressed up to be home. I noticed that when I did start dressing more femininely or just taking time to put thought into my clothes. It changed my attitude and even made me feel more enthusiastic about my day to day activities. I’m trying to shift my wardrobe to practical/mothering appropriate feminine clothing. I also want my lounge wear and pajamas to be pretty and comfortable. I want to get back to taking time to feel beautiful whether I leave my house that day or not.
Wonderful video Estee! I absolutely agree with you 100%! I find that when I dress nicely & style my hair and apply make up, I have a more productive day and it boosts my self esteem and is beneficial to my emotional wellbeing. I really enjoyed the video, thank you for sharing ❤️✝️❤️✝️❤️✝️
I remember reading when women started entering the workforce in Japan, they introduced uniforms because the women would show up to the office in sleepwear As a man, this mystifies me Why do women be like that?
Estee please give us tips on your sense of fashion for VERY cold weather. Dressing feminine in the sunmer comes easy but when you have a winter of well below freezing… it gets harder 😅 (double fleece stockings and wool sweater dress is the most I can whip up) 😊
I think the key is just buying nice quality pieces. A beautiful coat in a nice color. A beautiful scarf around your face. Feminine hats and gloves. Nice looking boots. Choose a color palate that matches. Nice quality sweaters. Hope that helps.
I’m working on doing a video for that soon but in my opinion you nailed it with the fleece tights. I’ve never had issues with fleece lined tights and a long sleeve dress paired with sweaters a coat and booties but I also live in Virginia haha so it won’t get but so cold here. Even leggings under dresses are great! Layers and natural fabrics are the best way to go. The synthetic fabrics won’t keep you as warm. I hope this helps until I make a video on more tips ❤
I wear leggings under dresses in the winter AND I wear dresses with heavier fabric in the winter. Wool sweater dresses are something I own for the really cold days, but just a long sleeve corduroy dress or a heavier knit fabric dress works wonderful. And a nice feminine sweater is also a nice touch. I work an office job and I always wear dresses for work. Leggings under dresses are indeed warmer than pants are!!
I’ve started wearing jeans every single time I go outside even just for quick errands and it helps me feel much better, and improved my mental health. I did go through a phase when I wore a lot of pajama pants and stuff in public…and it did not make me feel very good about myself. Well said.
Since becoming a mom, I wear sweatpants unless it is completely necessary to wear something else. I go to work wearing dress up pants. When I attend formal events like weddings, I wear a dress. However, I wear sweat pants to the store, to family gatherings, to play dates, the girls nights out.
We’ve all worn things out in public we wish we didn’t best lessons are learned the hard way haha I too noticed a difference when I swapped my leggings out for jeans or dresses and I felt not only more confident but presentable 😊
I'm 51. I used to live in yoga pants and lulu lemon as well. Now for a few years, I live in dresses, even in winter....long dresses with long socks. I noticed men and women looking the same for over decades and I don't want that.
I remember years ago here in Australia I was in target and there was a husband and wife in there arguing about a pair of shorts the mum wanted to buy her daughter and they were so so short they could have been underwear 😮 the husband was saying to his wife NO! she not wearing them they are to short the wife saying but that’s the fashion! Anyway way the dad turned around to me and said would you let your 4 year old daughter wear these? I said not a chance no! The wife got angry throwing the shorts back . My first thought was how great it was to see a dad care so much and then I thought how childish she was throwing a hissy fit at her husband in public 🤔
My dad wouldn't let me go brakes in the 70s.. I remember skirts came back in around 1975... Broomstick styles I'm BEEN trying to get women & girls to wear skirts again Even "retro"
I'm a 62 yo guy and I had to subscribe because you remind me so much of my Mum and my dear sister who have both passed away. You are a younger version of them, they were wonderful people, homemakers and a great mother and sister so it's amazing to have people like you to remind me of how civil and beautiful the world used to be. You are being the very best you, a true breath of fresh air and it's so awesome to see how you are living. Words really escape me but I think you're an incredible woman! Bravo.
I used to wear a lot of fifties fashions beginning in the early eighties, and i noticed people getting sloppier and sloppier; i found it troubling and still do.
As a 14-year-old girl, I love your videos and completely agree with you about how lazy fashion has gotten, as I see it every day at school and try to hold myself to a higher standard and wear jeans, sweaters, etc. Thanks for speaking about it!
I kinda like how more comfy "lazy" fashion is more trendy nowadays just cause it's more comfortable and easy to wear, but I also wanna look like a vintage princess too. I would love more pointers on where to find good vintage style or even authentic vintage clothes in my size.
I totally agree. I wear vintage inspired clothes, mostly dresses. As a woman, when you wear a dress you feel feminine. I think it's part of being a good Christian woman. Thank you for sharing ❤️ 😊🙏
I want you to know that I have my 2 daughters watch your channel. They are 12 and 9. ( I also have 2 boys). I'm a physician, I work full time. We are also homesteaders. I can honestly say I talk to my girls about being stay at home wives and mothers more than anything else. I want them to have the freedom I don't have. And certainly there are freesoms I have with my job, mostly financial. But staying home with my babies wasn't an option and even if they choose to work outside the home, I want them to have the option of staying home when they have children. Great content, keep it up!
Aww that’s so sweet of you thank you so much! That’s awesome you wish that freedom for your daughters and even better you see it that way. Some women see it as a box. God bless you and your family 🙏
Please please teach them how to find a wonderful, empathetic man then. I’ve been stay at home, mom and wife for the last decade, and I am divorcing my husband for many years of emotional, verbal, and psychological abuse. I’m now starting from scratch financially. Please teach your daughters to be smart.
My mom was twice divorced and always lamented to me that, more than anything in the world, she wished she could have stayed home with us. Now I am a homeschooling SAHM (with the occasional side hustle) counseling my four girls to think long and hard when making their post-graduation decisions, especially to save HARD and not get into debt. I've tried to always counsel them, "You may not think, right now, that you want to stay home with your kids instead of having a job, but MOST women change their mind once that baby's in their arms! The last thing you want right then is to be saddled with 10 more years of student loan payments!" I encourage them to choose careers they can turn into side hustles or work from home, in case they want to. Here's to hoping better for it daughters! ❤
I used to dress so nice like this until I had kids…. Now I don’t have much money to buy new clothes that fit so I end up wearing leggings and a tshirt or my husbands shirts. I want to dress Better but I have been struggling with it since having kids. I add to my wardrobe slowly with nicer clothes but it’s a very slow process. So to the women that are trying, it’s okay. Its a process. And it’s not always just uphill sometimes it’s bumpy.
I agree. It is hard to find good clothes that fit when major changes happen size wise 😅 Someone gave me a great tip online. She said to get outfits that were breast feeding friendly as well as maternity wear. That way, you do not have to buy a new wardrobe each time your body changes. Something I've seen is people putting in "corset backs" to the dresses or clothes they own so they can be brought back down to their current size without having to get rid of them...
If you buy your kids clothes at target at all, buy cat and jack and they can be returned in any condition. You can then take the money from the return to buy more clothes in their new size. This works for babies up to the kids section. I don't know how big though. Once they fully outgrow all the cat and jack stuff, use the money on you as a reward for later because they most likely won't grow too fast after that 😊 I've never done the return stuff myself but I've been told this by people online before
Pull over dresses with solid color leggings are beautiful and comfortable. You don’t have to go crazy to step up your look. You can also get footless tights for super cheap.
So agree! A lot of people wear such sad and sloppy clothing. It’s pretty sad when people think I’m “dressed up” just because I’m wearing a nice blouse and jeans. 😕
It’s always really cold here in sweden, we have like three months a year when its nice wearing a dress. Other months you’ll need pants or something warmer, and having a matching sweater set is really nice and stylish in my opinion.
I was literally online window shopping for 1950s fashion and dresses today! 😂 What are the odds you'd post this video today! Thank you so much for the great content! you're exactly what I'm looking to be! ❤
That’s so kind of you! Definitely share if you like the quality of any dresses your order I’m always on the hunt for me I feel I need to do more experimenting on shops I’m always asked haha ❤
Thank you for this. People like my mother who literally think the more you spend the better the quality do not understand why I don’t overpay for designer clothes that literally look bland and pointless. They don’t understand why I’m letting my young daughters grow their hair long and put dresses on them, literally referring to this as country.
OMG! Finally!!! Someone speaking what is so much needed in the times in which we live! Your verbal presentation as well as your physical presentation is priceless - just beautiful! My problem is where to buy?? I completely want to dress like the woman I am but I just can’t find the clothes that used to be in fashion, So yes!! Ladies dress more feminine and men be true to your gender. Thanks again! You’re a breath of fresh air! ❤️
I started wearing only dresses/skirts over a year ago and it feels so good. I feel so put together so feminine and amazing. I started a new job and all females and males were so surprised to see me well dressed and even wearing dresses/skirts in the winter. I get so many compliments from both and so many women say to me that they want to start dressing up more and taking care of themselves. I’m glad I’m able to encourage women of all ages with something so simple. Thank you for sharing and speaking about this!
Thank you for speaking about this! It is something that has been bothering me personally for a while. I've actually started learning to sew better because I'm tired of the options at stores and want to have my own style again. The world seems to be going in a way that I'm not willing to go , so i'm going the other way.
I always wear dresses, vintage and modern style, and the way I get stared at like I'm an alien or something! Not that I care, I love looking the most feminine I can, I love that style. Mostly when I get compliments it's from older people, which probably makes sense.
Sometimes for a lot of women, wearing leggings all the time can contribute to yeast infections because it’s too tight in that area and doesn’t allow it to breathe.
Yes! This is a real problem! I had problems with UTIs and yeast infections from the synthetic fabric leggings. I switched to organic cotton leggings and have had zero issues since then. PACT and Maggie’s Organics are two brands that make amazing organic cotton leggings.
@@kittycat1887you really needed to curse? Would you talk to a stranger in public verbally like that? Fashion isn’t the only problem we have in society right now…it’s the way people talk both online and in person. I teach high school and they just curse and talk inappropriately freely right in front if me now they don’t even care. It’s a big societal issue.
Another inspiring reel; I love your content! ❤ Interestingly, my husband, who's truly a man's man and says there's "no such thing as too girly/feminine" ALSO says he does NOT like floral prints, 50s vintage styles, etc. on me. He does, however, adore my daily sun dresses in warmer months, but also loves my black leggings w/leg warmers, extra long black tank (looks like a super short skirt) paired with a cozy hoodie/sweatshirt during the snowy winter months in northern MI. Super comfy & super 🔥, yet not immodest. I think it it's so interesting (surprising?) that he prefers that more modern "dancer look" over classic, traditional feminine floral prints. I adore all things feminine and I am fascinated with God-given feminine/masculine polarity, yet I've come to the conclusion that it's not so much classic feminine attire that appeals to men as much as ladies wearing whatever is the most comfortable, flattering, and appropriate for their body type. No one size fits all rules, per se. Hmmm...I am beginning to believe that when a woman becomes the best version of herself & feels/looks amazing in her preferred attire, she becomes effortlessly magnetic to a masculine man. ❤
I’m glad you decided to speak on this. I have caught a couple of your videos and have seen ugly remarks in the comments. Thank you for continuing to speak and give a voice to women who have the same values and appreciate the content!!
I have learned so much about fashion, not my strong suit. Oil skin stockings are comfortable, elegant kitten heels 👠 even cream tights with a skirt for a power walk is office attire with comfort. I can’t eat like a man and look like a woman. Be yourself that is the fun part of fashion, personal expression!!👗
It’s not a coincidence this video keep popping up on my timeline. I started back working out today and I literally said out loud that I’m tired of wearing tight clothes like it never attract the right attention anyway and it’s not comfortable anymore. Loved this video 🖤
Though I do love being cozy in a cute bright sweatshirt (at home), while I do have some lipstick on and still feel cute, I like the way you put things across and gave your reasoning for everything. These are substantial points. Being put together makes a whole lotta difference for the day! Puts you in the zone for whatever you wan to take on for the day!❤
I love how you’re now making videos on TH-cam! I started at the age of 20 being a traditional wife/mother. I am now 28 years old and I’ve learned alot over the years. I agree on this video, I miss the way people use to dress! I would love to see hair and makeup tutorials if you’re willing to share!
I absolutely love this!! I love the 40s/50s style and I’ve also began to realize that I love the traditional housewife and traditional feminine look. I also love that you include pants because Lord knows I could not survive without them. I love skirts and dresses but pants are nice to wear as well. Anyway, I’ve enjoyed scrolling your channel! You have a blessed day!
I am in my 30s. I wore a nice white dress with blue flowers on it, and pair of white wedge heels for a date with my man. The amount of compliments I received was overwhelming. On Valentine's Day, I wore a black knee-length leather skirt, black tights (it's cold in Canada), a black lace top, and black leather shoes. Looked amazing and my man really appreciated it. He wears jeans and t-shirts every day but I go out of my way to dress up when we go out together. I want to look nice for him.
It's funny how applicable this video is to both genders, i'm a 35 year old man and i couldn't agree more. Even taking dollar inflation into account, the average person spends more money on clothes than in previous eras. The obvious irony is that people do not look better, not by any stretch. 1940s-50s style was impeccable in comparison.
I think about this a lot. I've stopped wearing pajamas and other casual and homey clothing in public. One day I just felt uncomfortable and realized that it was because of my clothing. I felt lazy and sloppy wearing such things in public and decided to put more effort into how I present myself in public. Now I feel much better with what I wear.
Good for you! As a European, I have to admit that the pyjama in public thing is inimaginable! I would never leave my house in my pyjamas - except to go to our backyard where no one can see me!
Wonderful topic!! I agree. Our standards have lowered dramatically and it is sad. I love wearing dresses. I love looking and feeling feminine. Thanks for taking about this!! ❤❤❤
Estee you are so inspiring! I definitely like to be comfortable when I am around the house or even going out. That being said, I call it sundress hour when it is dinner time and my love is coming home from work. I put myost comfortable and beautiful dress on every evening. It not only feels relaxed but also super comfortable and beautiful ❤️ I honestly wish that I could feel this free in any circumstance. I recently had a job where I had to were black- black polo shirt and black pants. I felt like a boy and hated that! I love to dress feminine and feel like I am honoring my feminine essence and comfortable as a woman!
5:37 If you’re so ashamed, why haven’t you purged/donated some of them? You have enough to wear a pair every day for 7 weeks straight without having to rewear any of them.
Girl, PREACH!! This is a topic that seriously needs to be addressed in today's culture/society. We need to be trend setters with feminine style and bring back feminine beauty and class to a society that is trying to push endogenous dress on us all! The benefits are enormous to both us and future generations as well as the men around us. I am a feminine woman who dresses very feminine, and I can't tell you how many times I get stopped and complimented on my girliness and dress style. Men long to see feminine women again, and girls want someone to give them permission to dress girly. Thank you for sharing on the topic!
I agree with so much of what you are saying. I like to wear leggings under dresses or skirts. I never wear trashy heavy makeup and don’t show my cleavage. Ladies in the 50s would often go to the store with their hair rollers still in, so they weren’t always put together. They Definately looked more elegant then, in my opinion and covered up more. I like the message you are trying to portray. I love to feel feminine. Unfortunately, there aren’t enough positive role models for girls currently. The pop stars and celebrities tend to be slutty, with no sophistication. Obviously, not all of them luckily. I don’t like jeans on women. They look like they just stepped off a ranch after working cattle.
I see so many girls/women now calling a modest feminine dressed woman "frumpy".... But wearing pajamas out and about is completely fine? I don't get it. I love dressing up and feeling feminine and modest.
I wish you would post more! I watched this with my wife. For any of you men out there, check out The Gentlemen’s Gazette and Real Men Real Style! Always dress to lead.
I’m working on posting more 😊 also I haven’t heard of those accounts so thank you for posting that so other men can see those channels to watch as well!
I wore a long skirt and 1970's jacket out thrifting yesterday and had three older women compliment me. It really made me want to keep putting in effort. They were all so beautiful. ❤
When i was a teenager everything girly and pink was 'uncool', and there was a big focus on girls can be like boys so we never really wore dresses and that has stuck with a lot of my millennial friends. Unpicking this, and trying to change style now is daunting but I know the younger me would have loved to have embraced femininity more if it was more accepted.
I completely understand where you’re coming from with this! I too noticed that all the “mean girls” in movies were the ones in pink and dressed nice and the “main character” nice girls were always Tom boys. I believe this narrative was done on purpose and attacks femininity
I agree completely there should be a difference between men and women dress ware, but from the 50s to now the 2020s of course there would be a decline in class. And there should be higher standards in society. And yes i agree when it comes to "lounge wear", But it does feel good to just be comfy. They make "sweatskirts" now.
I raised 2 beautiful and perfect daughters. Both are adults now. I introduced them to your channel and they absolutely love your content. It is clear to anyone with eyes to see and ears to listen that you move with the spirit of the Lord. May God Bless and Keep you and your family.
Thank you so much for sharing, Estee, I really appreciate you.... I've been thinking of being more discerning with where and what I dress like and your video came up.... Thank you Estee
I've been thining the same thing for years, especially with pj's to the grocery store trend. Never understood why you want to look like you don't care. I usually throw on a pair of jeans at least. I recently started putting more effort into my hair, jewelery and makeup to go out too. My makeup is usually just curl lashes, put on mascara, chapstick, shape my brows and set them in place and a little bit of highlight. Even if it's not a lot or a full face I look like I care. Makes me happier. I have a weird thing with dresses and skirts. I like them, I want to wear them and then when I do i feel naked or like everyone is staring at me. I dont want to feel that way, I want to be more feminine, any tips?
I feel that too. When the weather permits, I always wear shorts (sometimes even pajama shorts) that makes it for comfortable for me I also like wearing feminine jumpsuits. If I was an outfit, I’d definitely be a sophisticated jumpsuit.
@@mo.ka.9661 Yeah you're probably right when it comes to the pajama crowd. For the athletic/lounge wear crowd, I'm not so sure they don't care, rather I think they think it's fashionable.
I definitely believe that the quality of so many things has depreciated such as the quality of good character and disposition, the quality of good manners and taste, the quality of fashion, the quality of language and accent, the quality of education, the quality of manufacturing, etc... These had all gotten worse over time. No wonder I yearn for the yesteryears. Also, I haven't worn trousers for so long (except for a pyjama), in other words, my skirt is my usual clothing.
I live in a small country in Europe, and people look presentable most of the time. I never leave my home in sweats, try to look well groomed and all, but I have found myself wanting to wear more skirts and dresses. Longing to appear a more feminin way. Loving your longer hair!
I used to dress for attention all the time and the attention it got me really was sickening. I started wearing workout gear to avoid this and frankly it has become a habit
The most recent time I wore literal pajamas in public was when my (at the time) 2 year old went to the ER in the middle of night. It turned out to be croup - first time I ever heard the sound. But man, I was rocking them chili pepper printed pajamas pants and button-up flannel shirt! I almost left barefoot too. 😆 My son got better within a couple days. But man, those meds made him wild!!
I thrift most clothes but I also enjoy misscandyfloss dresses and aeterie for online shopping! The quality is consistent with these shops I hope this helps ☺️
@EsteeWilliams Yes that does help! Thank you so much! I have not heard of those stores and I was searching in the wrong places for sure! I appreciate it❤️
Extremely nicely put and presented! Now that I am sixty, I miss the times when people dressed up to travel by plane or go out to supper. When I was a child, I remember getting dressed up in a lovely dress and going to downtown Atlanta to shop with my mother and great aunt. They occasionally wore gloves as well, especially if we were heading somewhere for lunch.
Some may call it sexist or whatever, but I notice a huge difference when I go out wearing jeans and a tshirt vs wearing a dress and nice, simple makeup. Yes jeans are fine, but nobody gives me a second glance when I wear them (and maybe thats what some are going for). But when I wear a nice dress and spend 5 minutes putting on makeup I get approving glances from so many people, people are more courteous and kind, and I just overall get treated a lot better. I started paying attention after watching a video on here called "Change your look, change your life"
I think that depends on how the jeans are worn. I get those approving glances in jeans, but I typically wear them with kitten heel boots and fuzzy sweaters, and I tend to wear a lot of hot pink ,which also tends to draw the eye. By comparison, my neighbor wears long baggy denim skirts, gym shoes, shapeless tees and her hair in a bun. That would not draw the eye as much.
We all choose how we want to present ourselves to the world. If we dress sloppy and low class people will treat us as such. If we don’t even respect ourselves why should anyone else?
@kittycat1887 no, but getting treated better by the random people I interact with is nice, and often it can be literal tangible things like more food in my bowl at chipotle.
I love this video, the concept is spot on! I have been making my own clothes and thrift flipping, and I have never felt more shiny, confident and comfortable in my own clothes in my ENTIRE life. 💯💯
Couldn’t agree more! This is just my personal preference, but when I head to the gym I bring a bag with my normal clothes and change into them once I am done working out. Only takes an extra few minutes of preparation and is so worth it to me. I have not felt comfortable wearing leggings outside of exercise for a year now. My husband also really adores me and appreciates when I dress like a lady 🥰
I agree 100%! Most men are much more respectful towards me, they’ll hold open the door & they make better eye contact when you don’t dump out the goodies ladies! I wouldn’t go back for anything!
Can you do a video that shows some of your modest girl outfits and how to style outfits? I'm starting to leave the sweatshirt/sweatpant life behind (I'm in college) but I realize I barely now how to put outfits together anymore....
I just bought a few A-line corduroy skirts with buttons down the front and a few lettuce trim shirts to tuck shirts into them. Also a pair of beige shoes. Not sure the style but they remind me of vintage feminine style like no other. Especially with my glasses and hair ties I like. They're rabbit ear scrunchies and vary in length and tons of different colors for different options 💜
I just saw you on Dr Phil I don't know you or your husband but I am proud of the both of you God Bless the 2 of you I'm a traditional wife 42 years this week
Tbh your point of 'jeans and more comfortable than leggings' is a personal opinion and your own comfort zone. I grew up not being able to stand the feeling of jeans. I'm not a big fan of leggings either, I'd rather wear shorts tbh but they are far more comfortable than jeans will ever be. (For non-gym wear I do mostly wear dresses though, but for me it's more of a laziness thing, because pants are more effort to put on than a dress.)
Leggings are so comfortable, and I wear them under skirts. I do not wear jeans because these are not me. I buy affordable and cute leggings at places such as Walmart and Burlington.
Well said! While I happily own a few "athleisure" outfits for wearing around the house, working out, and running errands, I dress up for social stuff such as meeting up with friends, date nights with my husband, and hosting people at our house. And once I hit my 30s and didn't care about what others would say, I started wearing vintage style. Very rarely do I get the odd look from a stranger, but the vast majority of the reactions have been very kind and positive. Plus, it feels GOOD to put forth that effort into my appearance, as it feels that I am practicing some form of self care. The weather has finally started to warm up, so I was actually excited to wear a sundress while running errands with my toddler yesterday. It was just a casual button down shirt dress, nothing fancy ... And yet my mood was definitely more cheerful and energetic while running those errands. There's nothing wrong with pajamas and sweatpants ... But I do think that making those your "default" style can take a toll on your self esteem.
Tastes are subjective, and they change over time like you said yours did. I do have the same tastes as you so I agree that dressing up just makes me feel better but it's not lazy or wrong to dress differently, it's them expressing their tastes through clothes which isn't harming anyone. Love lightens the heart ❤️
My daughter is 8 and she adores dresses ❤ when she turns up at birthday parties, it's so sad to see all the other kids looking very "tween" in their tiny leggings or shorts but I encourage my daughter so much to keep wearing the dresses she loves, I absolutely love 💕 that she still wants to and hope it will not change 🙏 really appreciate the message in this video
What’s wrong with women wearing jeans or trousers? It’s comfortable. And when clothes are comfortable you feel better and you can focus on more important things. You say fashion is worse today than it was in the fifties as if it is an objective truth. It’s not. It’s just your opinion.
Did you know that the 1950s happened because men came back from war and started having a lot of babies and the economy was great and women were able to stay home while men worked. Abuse and alcoholism however still happened. Traditional women didn't just exist in 1950. Traditional women were also those calloussed butch women who used to work on farms. They also had 13 kids. Can you pick and choose what Traditional woman you like based on the time period?? But I do like this message, and I think wearing clothes is important!
Sent this to my wife and 15 year old daughter. Thank you for this video! I never want my wife to advertise her beautiful shape or my daughter to look like she is on sale.
Modesty should be a guiding factor when we are deciding what to wear for both men and women. What part of ourselves do we want others to notice first??
Dear Estee - I am a modern woman (no choice for now), but I love your channel and IG ❤ please, never ever fear to talk what’s in your heart - this is important to see this point of view. To remember, what being feminine really is. I really love your channel and though I’m a modern woman, I’m doing my best to be as feminine as you ❤ you’re an icon ❤
Hello miss. A big fan of yours and after seeing this topic yes I can say that with time fashion senses have gotten out of hand even 20 years ago the fashion was really modest and was amazing but with time it has gotten way worse. Now this new trend is going on by looking weird is the new cool. Thank you for you amazing video 😊
I tried on a bunch of pants a few days ago and hated them all. I literally just love skirts and dresses especially for my body type and my personality I guess
In Sweden people not even dress up to party anymore. In the 80-Ies We dressed really Fancy even to work! My husband do notice when i dress up. Especially when i wear clothes he have made for me. He is good making Coates, dressens, blouses. He is so good in Making clothes. He always do wear T-shirt and jeans and i never complain. Its his choise. But he can dress up if its necessary and i am satisfied with that
What really convicted me was your point on being a role model for my own daughter. 😳 Currently most days I’m in the athletic/loungewear, and I feel it! Days I actually get dressed and ready I feel way more productive. I want to empower my daughter, but I have to walk the walk and not just talk the talk.
I think it's okay to share what adds to your life and how dressing the way you do uplifts you - I think that's great and good for you. Buuut.. I really don't think we need to call people out 🤷♀️ Like, I don't need anyone judging me for going to the store to get diapers and milk in sweat pants when i haven't had proper sleep in weeks and I'm just trying to survive newborn life. I had a college professor who came to campus in sweat pants and t shirts and had to teach sitting down. He had a medical condition that put his body in pain and that was his best. I think it would be better just to say - hey we could do some more self reflecting on if we're doing our best at life. And everyone's best is not going to look like your best, and that's OK 👍
I agree I started wearing dresses about a year ago and I have never felt more feminine.
It makes a world of difference ❤
I started wearing dresses a year ago when I lost 80lbs they motivate me to keep the weight down and make me feel so feminine!
Amen 🙏

I really enjoyed the video, thank you for sharing

I remember reading when women started entering the workforce in Japan, they introduced uniforms because the women would show up to the office in sleepwear
As a man, this mystifies me
Why do women be like that?
🤝
Estee please give us tips on your sense of fashion for VERY cold weather. Dressing feminine in the sunmer comes easy but when you have a winter of well below freezing… it gets harder 😅 (double fleece stockings and wool sweater dress is the most I can whip up) 😊
Wear your leggings under your dresses and skirts! ~ Heather ~
Leggings under a long dress is warmer than pants
Same! I’m gonna put in that effort, even if it wasn’t considered “feminine” a century ago.

We’ve all worn things out in public we wish we didn’t best lessons are learned the hard way haha I too noticed a difference when I swapped my leggings out for jeans or dresses and I felt not only more confident but presentable 😊
@@defaultdefault812You are. The comments you post are disgusting.
Can you do a closet tour please? Or like a dress try on? I’d love to see some examples of what you wear now in a daily basis!
I'm 51. I used to live in yoga pants and lulu lemon as well. Now for a few years, I live in dresses, even in winter....long dresses with long socks. I noticed men and women looking the same for over decades and I don't want that.
Women need to dress.. 👗 In skirts/dresses AGAIN
Because he married a child
And not back down. Too many men cave to their wives.
My dad wouldn't let me go brakes in the 70s..
I remember skirts came back in around 1975...
Broomstick styles
I'm BEEN trying to get women & girls to wear skirts again
Even "retro"
what the fuck? why can't a child wear kid's clothes?
@@kittycat1887 either you didn't actually read the post or you're a pedo.
I noticed, the 90s, was when, women stopped the 👗 dresses
As a 14-year-old girl, I love your videos and completely agree with you about how lazy fashion has gotten, as I see it every day at school and try to hold myself to a higher standard and wear jeans, sweaters, etc. Thanks for speaking about it!
That’s awesome girl! You never know who you are inspiring at your school. Keep it up ❤🙏
Thanks!
You are so brave and intelligent!
I am really happy for you! Persist and have faith in yourself. If more girls at the school decide to follow your example, I would not be shocked!
I kinda like how more comfy "lazy" fashion is more trendy nowadays just cause it's more comfortable and easy to wear, but I also wanna look like a vintage princess too. I would love more pointers on where to find good vintage style or even authentic vintage clothes in my size.
I always feel more feminine in a dress. There is a time and place for certain clothing.

Maybe society is healing, slowly.
You are doing great! Very well said. Slowly is how most of us have to do it and that's very ok!
I agree. It is hard to find good clothes that fit when major changes happen size wise 😅
Someone gave me a great tip online. She said to get outfits that were breast feeding friendly as well as maternity wear. That way, you do not have to buy a new wardrobe each time your body changes. Something I've seen is people putting in "corset backs" to the dresses or clothes they own so they can be brought back down to their current size without having to get rid of them...
Look for dresses or blouses/skirts at the thrift shops!
If you buy your kids clothes at target at all, buy cat and jack and they can be returned in any condition. You can then take the money from the return to buy more clothes in their new size. This works for babies up to the kids section. I don't know how big though. Once they fully outgrow all the cat and jack stuff, use the money on you as a reward for later because they most likely won't grow too fast after that 😊
I've never done the return stuff myself but I've been told this by people online before
Pull over dresses with solid color leggings are beautiful and comfortable.
What are the odds you'd post this video today!

Interestingly, my husband, who's truly a man's man and says there's "no such thing as too girly/feminine" ALSO says he does NOT like floral prints, 50s vintage styles, etc.

Your hair is PERFECT. I need to start letting my curls do their thing!
5:37 If you’re so ashamed, why haven’t you purged/donated some of them? You have enough to wear a pair every day for 7 weeks straight without having to rewear any of them.
"I changed my mind so Im going to shame everyone who didnt do it at the identical same pace as myself."
Good for you telling the truth! God bless you young lady!
I love dressing up and feeling feminine and modest.
have you ever thought to yourself that the way other people dress has nothing to do with me?? that is so not classy

It really made me want to keep putting in effort. They were all so beautiful. ❤
As many times as you felt you had to apologize for voicing your opinion shows how mentally weak our society is. Good for you for speaking up!
And yes i agree when it comes to "lounge wear",
But it does feel good to just be comfy. They make "sweatskirts" now.

When the weather permits, I always wear shorts (sometimes even pajama shorts) that makes it for comfortable for me
I also like wearing feminine jumpsuits. If I was an outfit, I’d definitely be a sophisticated jumpsuit.
It's not about looking like you don't care, it's genuinely not caring.

Thank you Estee. You are expressing level headed advice. Young women would be wise to take heed.
My son got better within a couple days. But man, those meds made him wild!!
Where do you buy your dresses? I absolutely love them and was curious where you get them? Love that you are here to help so many❤️ Thank you!!
Your hair and fashion always are on point.
Thank you so much! 🙏
That would not draw the eye as much.
so... your self-esteem and sense of value are defined by what others think of you and how they look at you? kinda sad
@@AbbeyStorm so it's like I said. thanks for proving my point.
I so agree with you. Everyone looks too casual now, even at work.
As I finish my hair before the man of the house gets home.

I love this! Subscribed within the first 60 seconds! In general, people just don’t even care about their appearance anymore. It’s so sad.
I agree 100%! Most men are much more respectful towards me, they’ll hold open the door & they make better eye contact when you don’t dump out the goodies ladies! I wouldn’t go back for anything!

I love wearing dresses. Comfortable and feminine which is who I am... fun too and I get a lot of compliments.
Seems like pretty objective good taste but I guess.
Yeah, this comment is more evidence that women have no idea what is attractive and the power that such a simple thing gives them over men.
Thank you for addressing this topic. I agree and appreciate all that you have shared here.
Sent this to my wife and 15 year old daughter. Thank you for this video! I never want my wife to advertise her beautiful shape or my daughter to look like she is on sale.
You go girl! Sooo glad you covered this topic!! It needs to be said more!!
Estee, I love your hand gestures as you say, "Ladies? Leggings are *not* more comfortable than dresses." Oh gosh 😍
I would love to see a 'what I wear in a week" video
God convicted me of this too. Thanks for sharing Sis❤
Modesty should be a guiding factor when we are deciding what to wear for both men and women. What part of ourselves do we want others to notice first??
Now this is where you and i agree. I always dress well when going out.
I really feel like Gods been telling me this recently too!
But he can dress up if its necessary and i am satisfied with that
I'm 51 and really loving the couquette look. I love your dress and shall! Where did you get them? ❤
What really convicted me was your point on being a role model for my own daughter. 😳 Currently most days I’m in the athletic/loungewear, and I feel it! Days I actually get dressed and ready I feel way more productive. I want to empower my daughter, but I have to walk the walk and not just talk the talk.
Ladies, let's wear clothes! I agree 😁 and I'm using this quote
Yeah i dont agree with fashion today. But i can not afford a lot of clothing, brand prices are killing me!
