    Glad you obviously appreciated this locomotive - one of my Hornby favourites. I found a 'faulty lighting' one from Hattons, which was easily resolved and is 100% reliable.
    My preference is to keep the fans operational - look great to me! Each to his / her own.
    Great presentation and clear, concise video. Thanks for sharing.
    As I write, I managed to find a blue R3050 reasonably priced and have purchased it - just like yours presented here. Alan.

      Alan Toms A great hornby product. Sometimes the fan belt doesn’t effect the running, but in my case it was hindering the performance. Thanks for watching and for getting in touch. Enjoy running your Blue 56! :-) Dave

    A beautiful representation of that 80/90s icon. I remember sitting by my local line on the MIDLAND mainline, with a constant stream of 45s, then the highlight would come, a 56 on MGRs, always put a smile on my face. To see your model pulling a fully laden real length train is certainly impressive. Many locos would struggle.

    Blackbird, 😬. What a great looking model. UK and European trains are so interesting. Our golden age of trains in the States is long over. I model 30s through 60s, that way I get the best of Steam and Diesel. All the beautiful steam and amazing, powerful streamliners. Thanks for another great video. I love the running sessions.

      Hi Philip. Thanks for your comment. I enjoy the history side of models and the real loco. It’s all important to the model. Good luck with working through my videos. Try not to fall asleep! Lol.

    Very nice review of a beautiful locomotive. Your layout is fantastic, details really stand out. It’s only been in the last couple years of watching TH-cam and getting back into model railroading that I have become familiar with UK Railroading, both model and prototype. I have a great admiration for the UK railroad scenes and equipment.

    I have to agree the 56 is one of Hornbys best. I run mine on MGR hoppers loaded with 10 commandments loads which are really heavy and it has no problem with them. I enjoyed the little bird icon LOL They are waking me up early morning these days even when it is still dark but I find the wood pigeons more annoying.

    Great video and excellent review of a really stunning model. I have a Dapol 56 in Trainload Construction livery and considering when it was made it has some weight to it. The two Hornby 56s i would like are the orange and black Loadhaul livery and Trainload Coal versions. Be well and keep safe, regards Gary.

      Dunge Wood Model Railway they had a few around that time. My mate had one with such a poor application of the blue that you could see the bare plastic in the roof!! It was awful. I was lucky-ish with mine. I originally had a few running issues where it had a squeak.. but this was fixed under warranty by Hornby.

  • @SouthWesternModeller
    @SouthWesternModeller 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Lovely model Dave and a great review.
    Steve Smith and Tim Cooper keep trying to convince me to go BR Blue rather than modern era as there used to be some great stock running on the Riviera Line back in the late 70's/early 80's.
    Videos like this do not help. lol
    If I didn't love my GWR Green HST and IET so much I may have considered a change, but I'm staying put. :)
    All the best
    Jamie

    • @DeanPark
      @DeanPark  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Pennyhill Junction you. An always get one and run it on a rail tour! :-)
      BR blue and sectorisation are my passion but sometimes I do with i modelled modern day as the HST in GWR, EMT, cross country, LNER abd Scotrail are stunning. I’ve got a Hornby Scotrail HST on order.... not my era but it’s stunning in real life :-)
      I always say, it’s my Railway, I’ll run what I like! You do the same. :-) Dave

    • @SouthWesternModeller
      @SouthWesternModeller 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely Dave and that's how it should be.
      Looking forward to seeing the ScotRail HST at Dean Park. Fantastic looking livery.
      A section of my layout will be a heritage line/station so a good excuse to get some classic locos and liveries on display. And as you say...can always run a Rail Tour on the mainline too.
      So much variety, but very damaging to my bank balance. ;)
      Thanks again
      Jamie

    • @DeanPark

      Hi! So many of us are looking for hornby class 56 buffers! They come out so easily and for some daft reason hornby don’t seem to want to supply spares!
      You can contact hornby, but I did that and they sent me buffers for a Class 60!, not a 56.
