    excellent video, good clear explanation; as a complete noobie to dcc, could I ask is it possible to improve even further the slow crawl to make it even smoother?

      Not yet - but the lamps from DCC concepts (their red/white lamps are tiny!) are in the project box

    can you use a 4 pin or 6 pin on this train or is it just a 8 pin that works with this train. thanks for the great guidance in your video it really helps. you got another sub

      Theres nothing stopping you doing that - I fitted an 8-pin socket, but yuo could have used a 4 or 6 pin socket instead.

    Typically my Hornby 06 has a different method of connection where the motor has no wire and sits directly on to the pickups so no dcc for that one. ah well try another.

      That sounds like the older version of 0-4-0 chassis.
