KHGuitarFreak1988 Not to mention that poor rear diff... It wasn't really a fair comparison, as the Patrol driver was much better at picking lines and the LC driver just seemed to want to bulldoze everything.
Samuel Edwards agree with the line picking. Although I think the 200 needs a little bit more of clearance. Man, it looks like a tank plowing the trails.
+eaxebxecxedx you are absolutly right....the ground clearance for that lc is just low....plus the nissan driver being the btr and in the btr car for such a cruel environment
Toyota fans blaming the driver. Reality is hard to sink but the Toyota Land Cruiser lost, due to its built quality and smaller tyres. Nissan Patrol is well built and easily managed on bigger rocks without getting stuck. Both these Japanese made engines are reliable and last longer than some people.
Thanks for the video. Kinda hard to judge one vs. the other. Both are very capable for sure. The Patrol appears to have aftermarket wheels and tires which would certainly give it a big advantage; it especially has an advantage without having a rear bar (better departure angle). The Patrol certainly did the course more gracefully than the Toyota, but if the 200 had had the same sized tires and the increased departure angle, the outcome may have been quite different. Again, thanks for a good video. ("Liked")
Andrew Hitchcock mate the Cruiser had Mickey Thompson MTZ’s a very capable tyre. I guess it comes down to the cruiser having a more low slung stance then the Patrol. Even though then Cruiser is IFS (Independent Front Suspension ) but has a twin turbo V8 Diesel 🤔
Issa Ndoye depends on engine size, in Ireland and the UK most cruiser 200 are 4.2l diesel and most patrols are 3l diesel. Also for offroading this wasn't even a fair test because the patrol has after market offroading wheels and the cruiser has a bad driver in it. Both are beautiful strong Jeeps though
remy Khuong I came here just to say that. In this video, the land cruiser driver is totally bad, I feel sorry for it. Not to mention the difference in types of tires the patrol Nissan's is much bigger.
This clearly demonstrates the inadequacies of the IFS Landcruiser vs live axle Patrol in this terrain, the lower ground clearance of the LC200 gives poor approach, departure & ramp over angles. There is not much the driver can do to make up for this - so swap the drivers and the new driver will have the same issues.
Not necessarily, Musa would have picked different lines if he was in the cruiser because of clearance. But in reality the 200 won't keep up with a modded GU. TB48 4 Life.
I reckon this one and the Freemans Waterhole are the best 2 videos on this channel. Real offroading. Just when you think enough, the real action starts. Could be a warm up LOL.
It just shows how capable Land Cruisers in near stock configuration are, with a decent lift kit installed plus real lockers and sliders it could definitely master that trail with less damage...
The cruiser in this video has more mods than the Patrol 😉 Both have a 2" lift, but the Patrol could fit bigger tyres, 35s as opposed to 33s. The Cruiser has under body protection, front steel bull bar and winch, rear steel bar, but both have rock sliders. The Cruiser has front and rear air lockers, the Patrol has front auto locker and rear open diff. So in that sense, the Patrol is more closer to stock form than the Land Cruiser 😉

Hey Aussie four wheelers, I have a patrol and am looking in too new tires and wheels in the near future. Mine also has 2 inch lift and i love the look of that patrol. So when I order wheels and tires, what size should i ask for?
Cool. All depends what you want and what you're mainly using your Patrol for. Mine have 35s on 10" rims with -44 offset and they scrubbed at the bottom of flare at full lock (which can be trimmed) and top of guards and flares at compression (which can be prevented by extending bump stops). The other issue I encountered with that size rims and offset was that due to the increased track width, always copped dirt in the beads when doing rutty tracks and scrubbed the heck out of sidewalls, as you're wider than average. Due to that, rolled the bead numerous times. If I wanted to prevent that, as I was sick of fixing it every trip, either beadlocks or run higher pressure, but that defeats the purpose. So take that into consideration. If I was in your position, I'd go with 34" tyres max (Trail Grapplers) on 2" lift or raise it another inch with 35s. I'd also consider a smaller offset, like -22 or thereabouts. 33s fit without an issue. I'm running around with 33s on stock rims, 35s for play and have a set of beadlocked 37s with 0 offset (also for play) to go on after the new suspension lift. Hope that helps :)
Based on the way the driver choose his lane, looks like the driver on the patrol is a more experienced off-roader :) just IMHO, I can be wrong as well. Love the video anyway. Cheers!
@@targetoz5470 It's not just the GU's, it's any vehicle that is set up good, with good track width, good tyres, good clearance, good flex and lockers. In this case, it was a battle that the 200-series could do anything that a Patrol does on a 2" lift, but unfortunately, with a lot of modern vehicles, their clearances aren't as good. Some state "such and such" clearance on the lowest part of the vehicle, but on modern IFS vehicles, that is almost the same under the whole vehicle. With solid axle vehicles it's only at the axles, the rest of the vehicle is higher, which plays a big role when going over things, like the ramp-over angle.

Nice video however the person in the LC need to learn how to pick a line and drive off road. With the correct line he wouldn't have had to test the skid plates as he did.
Off road king #Nissn #Patrol ❤️
Quel chance vous avez encore le patrol chez vous,en france c'est fini quel dommage jen et eu 6 et je regrette ce super 4×4
Ils ne le font plus ici aussi.
what series of those car? it is adventure.
Thanks for watching. The Nissan is a Y61 and the Toyota is 200-series.
ويبقى الفتك بالمقدمة
Looks like a nice drive.
It was, glad you liked it :)
من كثر الاكسسورات فلاند كروزر صار موتر زفلت الباترول باقي محتفظ بصلابته فطرق الوعره
كفو يالتايوتا 👍👍👍👍Tayota
steel rims and bigger tyres are a must
That was the plan, but couldn't fit bigger than 33s with the 2" lift. So need more lift.
35's on the Patrol give it a distinct advantage over the 275's on the LC - great vid though.
Yeah, it does. But just as a comparison how easy is to fit 35s on a Patrol on a 2" lift.
Toyota Land Cruiser is one ☝️,.. with all off road .. never give up Lc
What year is the patrol? Cheers
05
Aussie Four Wheelers cheers
Not only that Nissan had better tyres and departure angles, it was also following Toyota and hence the driver learned where not to go
Lol 😂
Both are good
Why such a difference between pressures?
Because the tyres on the Patrol are a bit old and worn on a 10" wide rim, so lower than 30 psi pressures roll the bead too easy.
That's why I love patrol
