If you listen to Simon Mayo on R2 you will often hear the team refer to "different times" during the Confessions segment. Indeed the antics and hi-jinx at R1 in the `70`s and `80`s were of a different time. But the fact remains that DLT was a consummate broadcaster and his Weekend shows with the Snooker and Darts quizzes towards the end of his Radio 1 tenure were quite superb. Great broadcaster brought down by the Savile witch hunt. A tragedy for the listening public. His resignation speech at R1 is pure gold. My late Father was a big fan, DLT I wish you well.

Appalling what has happened to Dave. Inhuman. It makes me ashamed to be a woman at this moment in history, it truly does. Love going out to Dave though, with thanks for all the fun and music he brought our way when my generation was young.

The charge Dave lee Travis was found guilty of on the Mrs. Merton show. I don't understand why the jury found him guilty.the other charges were never proven one way or another and the incident with the journalist any jury would have trouble coming to a verdict on that one. that person never even come forward when the original allegations were made. It takes twenty years to make up her mind on it being sexual harassment and to my understanding of the situation. other people stood by and saw it on the behind the scenes on the show.depending whose story you believe? in a world where Jaime burger killers are out on the streets. he should have not get a suspended sentence.maybe counselling as part of a rehabilitation programming so he can be seen as turning his life around. the way he was treated was harsh.
Sham court case. Yet another guy who did what they all did by being a nice guy. Easy pickings for failed celebs! This man gave airtime to up and coming artists in music. Thank God your thoughts about people can not at this moment be registered for just thoughts. This guy had music in His bones. Gave the nod to up and coming talent and tried to help. It ended sadly due to! lets take him to the cleaners. Not a mention on how this man helped new music start ups. its sad.
