- DLT has his Saturday morning quiz show hijacked by Noel's House Party who took over the radio quiz with stooges giving silly answers.

Noel's House Party was a BBC light entertainment series hosted by Noel Edmonds. Set in a large house in the fictional village of Crinkley Bottom, leading to much innuendo, it was broadcast live on Saturday evenings in the 1990s on BBC One.

When radio was worth listening to. Not just music but great entertainment. I sound old, I am old.
I remember this like it was yesterday. I had my own garage back then, me and Paul were working one Saturday and we always listened to the darts game on DLT's show and this happened. Awesome, we'll never forget it.
I remember being in my Dads car listening to it like it was yesterday.
My then girlfriend and I were taking a lazy morning in bed. We were in stitches. We thought something was up, but never twigged a Gotcha
I remember listening to this , so funny… I remember thinking these people are thick lol …. And when it all became clear it was Noel just laughing my head off …. DLT ‘s rant was priceless

Also, the subtitles are hilarious. The last one said “BLTs got your ass” 🤣
Happy old days .....radio one in the 70s/loved these shows andthe roadshows.
This was in the 90s.
The uncut version of this is very colourful, I wished I could find it again....DLT was not happy!
Two very popular dj 's in my days but one is not mentioned and that's Simon bates for his brilliant our tune every day Monday to Friday.
This was when Saturday television was great. Started dying in 2007.

Back in the good old days when Radio 1 was helmed by people who looked like geography teachers.
At least people listened to it in those days, now radio 1 is irrelevant.
Broadcasting legend who was sadly mistreated and completely thrown on the scrap heap, very similar to Benny Hill

@@tony5006 yes. Because he was a working colleague of Saville at the bbc people wrongfully assumed he was guilty as Saville.
@@tony5006people were so angry about Savile, he was dead so other celebs were gonna end up paying for his crimes.
Rolf Harris too. He tarred with the "CP found on his computer" brush - turned out it was an adult site, but they 'thought a couple of the girls looked a bit young'. Still, once thrown it definitely sticks.

Dave Lee Travis, still on Radio 1 in 1992 when this aired. Within a year, Matthew Bannister, the new controller of Radio 1 would force DLT to resign on air. DLT was far too old for Radio 1 by 1993.
Rightly so, he was awful!

Not true. Whilst it's likely Bannister would have quickly despatched him, he never got the chance. DLT resigned when Johnny Beerling was still in charge, and it was JB who was the one to axe his long serving colleague.
@ritch195 Steve Wright left Radio 1 of his own accord. Although he was moved on from his Radio 2 afternoon show, he maintained his Love Songs show, then given Bank Holiday special programmes, and within the last year Pick of the Pops, and a joint-programme with Peter Kay. He was also set to be at the forefront of the new Radio 2 Extra station, when he suddenly passed.😊
This was real entertainment, not like the crap we’re sold ( tv tax) ( license fee ) these days.

Apparently DLT and Noel Edmonds genuinely disliked each other around this point, which makes the Gotcha considerably more interesting.
I was kind of getting some "'dislike each other but let's act friendly for the cameras" vibes when I originally saw it.

Noel got DLT.... Then a few years later the police got DLT for sexual assault! One gotcha oscar and three months in prison! 🤣
Well he never actually went to prison.
@CHRIS-ky5ku Correct. He got tbree months un prison suspended for two years. So he didn't go to prison but he was still convicted following the operation Yewtree investigation.

No wonder Travis was unhappy to have the cameras on him while at the BBC, as we now know what he and many more thought was OK to do at the BBC protcted by their sick BBC bosses.......sickos.
Watching this back and the radio personality, DLT …. He really was a creep. Didn’t he get hauled before the courts on a charge for indecent assault?
