    Ingredients:
    12 oz. hot water
    1 tsp. matcha powder
    1 Tbsp. unrefined coconut oil (or less)
    1 Tbsp. grass-fed butter OR cacao butter (or less)

    Fortunately I have some good quality Matcha here and I tried your recipe when I broke my fast today! I decided to drink it when I broke my fast because my stomach doesn’t do too well with green tea on empty.

    I personally throw in a little stevia as well and to reiterate - hot water 170 degrees or less before you burn the Matcha and you get some not so cool bitter tastes in your mount. Also I would recommend a glass or stainless container on your blender so you don't color it green - but if that's your style roll with the green!

    Love your videos, but you simply can't use boiling water with matcha. It will destroy it. Boiling water makes matcha taste really off, and downright bad.This is a major reason why matcha is an acquired taste for so many people. Just my thoughts.

      170 max is the ideal temperature for matcha, different teas have different requirements.

    if your stomach is empty i wouldn't recommend drinking matcha as the tannins in it are known to have an astringent effect on your stomach lining and often can cause nauseas. Maybe the fats counter act that but in my experience I get nauseas

      Okay since I have this problem you described with coffee and regular matcha green tea I wanted to give this a try. It's been 40 minutes since I finished drinking it...my stomach does want to be upset, but it isn't that bad. I think next time I will add more butter (I did add only 10 grams) and if necessary the next time after that I will try adding unsweetened coconut milk

      I have heard that is related to the heat of the water when you're brewing the tea...apparently if it's boiling then it's bad.

    Thank you so much for talking about Matcha!! Matcha has been one of my go-to drinks during IF but I usually drink it straight. Hmmm...I think Sophie needs a bone and you need a tea kettle for Christmas! :)

    New follower! I love matcha latte and often make it at home but with a good helping of heavy whipping cream. I do IF 16:8 and looking to cut coffee because it gives me gastric issues sometimes so I'm going to try this recipe. Wondering if a little amount of liquid stevia would hurt...     I made my first matcha and I used reserve chocolate matcha. It’s just like an essence and it says it’s an extract less than 2% and adds no calories. Really nice little flavor. It would seem ok for IF. Any thoughts?

    Great video on matcha never tried it that way but unfortunately this WILL break your fast. I’ve been fasting a few years and I don’t recommend drinking this in ur fasting window unless you want to break ur fast 😉 It’s great to drink in ur eating window though 😉

    Hi autumn! Could you use almond or coconut milk? I make a collagen matcha every morning (I add in coconut oil + coconut butter or ghee)...I’m also nursing and wake up ravenous so I don’t try to fast in the morning.

    Thanks Autumn! The matcha drink looks delicious. However, does the butter and coconut oil raise your cholesterol? Especially if you drink it everyday. I have high cholesterol that runs in my family.

      Yeah I would swap the butter for something else (like cacao butter or cashews) then. for cholestrol, Coconut oil is fine its got more MCTs (medium chain triglycerides) than most other saturated fats besides chocolate

      I use Encha Ceremonial grade. You can find it on Amazon. Best quality from what I have used. Jade Leaf is good too. Mainly try to get ceremonial grade. That’s the type that has a vibrant green color and has a good amount of L-Theanine

    That is so funny that your dog wanted some. My dog turns his nose at my keto bullet proof coffee, but licked my matcha tea bowl clean. I read he can have some. I only gave him the teeniest after I finished mine.

      You can still follow proper Nutrient Timing and spacing out your meals to allow for gut rest! I have a video on how long you should wait between your meals that I posted a few weeks ago. During pregnancy, it's especially important to ensure that you are eating enough as well as enough of the RIGHT things.

    but don't the calories break your fast? I love love love matcha lattes and I make mine with unsweetend coconut milk, which is quite delicious, but I miss the foam. If I can get the foam if I use butter and coconut oil instead, I'm game for that! Love your videos!

      I am 63. I have been following a strict keto diet (20g to 30g of carbs each day) with intermittent fasting since the middle of June. I have lost 85 pounds so far. (This is how much I weighed in 1999) It's easy! I have never really even felt hungry. If I can do it, anyone can! Good Luck!

      Hi! The butter will probably harden if you add ice. If you choose to use it iced, I generally recommend swapping the butter and coconut oil for coconut cream or heavy whipping cream

      Rachel H she has another video explaining that keto coffee doesn’t break your fast as it doesn’t spike insulin and keeps you in ketosis

      Psychic Gem I was talking about the Keto creamer powder that The Reserve sells on its website. I definitely drink keto coffee or this matcha latte every morning while fasting. 😁

    Autumn, I think you’re amazing, follow all your videos and watch them despite that you speak WAY too quickly. Please however, dispense with TH-cam’s goofy music. Honestly, it adds absolutely nothing to your stellar content, is very distracting, and, as a person w ADHD, it makes it incredibly hard for me to focus on content that’s already moving fast enough to be challenging. Seriously, it offers you nothing and takes away so much. Thanks, Hon.

    Surprised you used butter and not ghee since butter has milk solids and can cause inflammation.
