He is just as formidable as Sonic, and gameplay mechanics should emphasize his strength and power, allow him to lift and throw massive objects, and make his fighting ability more complex. Include some fast-paced action stages along with treasure-hunting stages - greatly expand the depth, variety and length of these exploratory stages, and add fiendishly challenging puzzles into the mix. Knuckles may not be as adaptable, fluid or spontaneous as Sonic, but he is wiser. His experience as caretaker and protector of a giant floating island full of unfathomable mystery has given him a knack for trap setting, and foiling. Also, his real name is something like "Nuxl" or "K'nuxl", which sounds similar to the nickname "Knuckles" (that Sonic probably gave him) but also similar to Aztec language, which his ancient culture was partially based on. However I wouldn't have made his ancient culture as being entirely Echidna, rather Echidnas were one of many species, including humans, that made up this (or these) civilization(s).

I think the chaos 4 fight could’ve been way more interesting as canonically three people are fighting chaos it could’ve been an awesome tag team thing where sonic chases it while knuckles flanks chaos in general could’ve been handled better eggman makes him out to be an unstoppable god but going off of its gameplay Its just a barely sentient puddle after two fights Eggmans claims become empty

I know this game is considered to be amazing by a lot of sonic fans but I just don’t see it. It has no nostalgia for me and in my opinion is REALLY dated. I mean for crying out loud the cutscenes are horrendous and the lip syncing is terrible. Not to mention you have to play as big and gamma. Two characters that did not need to be playable in the game and just wasted time. level design is good and control feels good but to me I just can’t see how this game is thought to be Sonics best or one of his bests. Im a big sonic fan, and I only really had fun with tails and sonic in adventure 1. But that’s only when I’m not messing around in the stupid hub worlds

For me there will always be a bit of Michael Jackson in Sonic's attitude and style. BTW Sonic Adventure Dreamcast version is my favorite Sonic game.

I completed this story the other day in like...40 minutes at most because the placement of the Emerald shards were so close to each other, meaning I spent less than a minute in certain action stages.
I didnt get the chance to play this game growing up but finally played it when i was about 19 a couple years ago and I gotta say....Im having a great time w this game. And while i do aknowledge that the game has its flaws and everything, i actually do find it visually appealing. The gameplay, world, characters, story and overall charm of the game just grabs me. Figured id type my genuine thoughts out on this game while im playing through this story, as someone who didnt get the chance to experience the Sonic Adventure series until i got older.
Assuming you're playing the PC version, most of the flaws come from it being a really buggy port(which can be fixed by mods). It's cool that you was able to enjoy it regardless.
@@starbutter2730 Yeah the Dreamcast version is the one I grew up on. It's the least buggy version, but I can't deny it does have camera control issues. If you got a Gamecube, I recommend playing SA2 Battle afterwards.

What order are the stories supposed to be played in?
There's no real order. You start with Sonic and you'll unlock the others as characters meet each other through the story.

This game hasn't really aged that well. I remember when I first played the PS3 version that I constantly got lost in the hub worlds just trying to figure out wtf I was supposed to do. There's a weird green buttplug thing at Tails's workshop. Dafuq do I do with it? Oh, unlock the first actual level of Sonic's story, and how tf was I supposed to figure that out?
