Yanmar 1GM-10 Starter Replacement

This video covers the removal and installation of a starter on a Yanmar 1GM.
I had replaced the original yanmar stater with an aftermarket one 2 years ago and this summer it started to make some strange sounds and was turning over the engine slowly. The original one from yanmar will be rebuilt to replace this second aftermarket one.

I dont know where all thr cables go anymore. I cant find a plan for it :(

Hi Ted, should the positive battery cable be on top of or under the alternator wire?

For larger engines that draw alot of amperage I put the battery cable on first. For these small engines, it doesn’t matter as long as the fastener is tightened properly.
