Palpatine famously sacked the Jedi temple through manipulation, treachery and rigorous planning, in line with the philosophy of the rule of two sith. However, almost 4000 years before the clone wars, a Sith known as Darth Malgus also sacked the Jedi temple and Corusant itslef using only his own brute force and competence as a sith general. Much like Vader years later, Malgus was a cybernetic warrior, brutal in his quest against the jedi. He also knew that one's own hardship and pain strengthened their connection to the dark side, with Malgus going so far as to kill his own love interest. Malgus led his armies from the front, allowing his rage and focus to flow through him as he cut down Jedi, further strengthening his connection to the dark side. Enhanced through the dark side as well as powerful cybernetics, malgus was famed for his overwhelming power strikes using an aggressive version of form 5 lightsaber combat. As well as being a highly proficient duelest he was a master of force lightning and capable of using it on several opponents at once. He was also able to use force Maelstrom, an ability that allowed the user to create a bubble around themselves before releasing it in an explosion of lightning and energy.

People need to talk about malgus more! He’s so cool and the old republic era in general has so much cool content!
The Old Republic era, in my opinion, has the greatest potential for future series, I honestly hope instead of ruining Revan and Malgus and all of that, they just recanonize KOTOR and SWTOR (maybe through KOTOR HD Remakes and an announcement on SWTOR’s upcoming 10th anniversary?)
I want to see a Mass Effect styled series of the Old Republic in a way that you have a series of games and your choices affect story in dramatic ways…. But give it a better end than ME3.

I didn't know this fun fact, someone else shared on another Malgus Short: Darth Malgus, after having slain all the Jedi at the temple, had enough respect for them to have them buried afterward.
Respectfully, I highly doubt that. Malgus was not the kind of person who had respect for his enemies. There were (kinda?) honourable sith , for example lord scourge, but malgus was for sure none of them. Malgus is the kind of guy that stabs you in the back just because it's benefits his purposes and afterwards he would spend a mere second thinking about it

Malgus was also known for being an incredible strategist and caused actual change and tolerance for aliens within the Sith Empire. He was surprisingly merciful to his subordinates and hated other Sith killing people under them with a passion, knowing it made the Empire weaker and unstable.
Had he approached things differently instead of betraying the Empire, the movies would be focused on the Sith Empire, rather than the Galactic Republic.
Malgus wasn't a cyborg until later on after he forms his short lived Empire.
Other than that he just high tech gear with breathing capabilities for the wound inflicted by Satele Shan

I read the book of Malgus, and let me tell you, his pure rage was so insane that he was ridiculously strong.

He's probably my favorite Sith Lord. The guy's very underrated but a badass. I wish to see more of him, Revan and Starkiller.
Palpatine destroyed the Jedi Order. Not Malgus
+ Malgus had an entire army of Sith Warriors when Palpat only sent Vader and the 501st to wipe out the Jedi Temple.
And finally, Malgus's sole objective was to rush and hit the order head-on while Palpat's plan was to rebuild the Sith Empire by converting the Republic into an empire.

In short, he is kind of like a mix of palpatine, with his strong capabilities with the force (specifically lightning), and Vader, with his cybernetic enhancements, brute strength and use of the blade.
Malgus vs Vader would be great
If he is fighting suit Vader, then He would win. Would be a decent fight though, they are very similar.

@@yggunshot8402 i disagree. Vader is portrayed to be even more powerful in legends than he is in canon. Vader is the best lightsaber duelist of literally all time. On top of that when he lost to obiwan as Anakin he lost a lot of his potential im the force but at the same time got stronger with the force. He has taken hundreds if not thousands of batallions of enemies and has conquered. Vader wouldn’t stomp Malgus but if they fought ten times I have Vader winning 7-8 of those fights.
@@CelestQB Have you actually looked into any eu/legends material to support that? Vader has never conquered hundreds of thousands of warriors at once in legends and Knightfall Vader is much, much more powerful. Knightfall Vader single handedly infiltrated the jedi temple on coruscant (he had clone troopers but was still doing most of the work) killing hundreds of jedi all on his own at once whilst causing mass destruction as confirmed by the revenge of the sith novelization, video game etc. He also possessed more raw power than Yoda and Sidious combined. In suit Vader had trouble fighting a Maul clone.
What about a video regarding the reason why Darth Marr could be a force ghost despite him being a dark side user?
In legends dark siders always had to potential to become force ghosts only Disney's lore says they can't
@@KingOfLesbia Yep, but they were different type of force ghosts, they were rather dark side spirits that were bound to a place or an object. Marr on the other hand, for some reason managed to unite himself with the force, like jedi, and became a light side type force ghost. He is an exception among the sith but still, i don't know how did he do that.
@@emzonik8851 I heard that sith have very strong attachments so they are bound to one place after they die, their emotions linger as illusions of themselves, but Marr was selfless in serving the sith empire, so he had no attachement which allowed him to not anchor in one place. Don’t take my word as the truth, it’s all I could remember.

Were Jedi allowed to ever have sex? Think about it. Sure they can just chop and split and never see that person again but what if they eventually meet someone and get attached to them and want to develop a relationship with them. Since they’re not allowed to have relationships, meeting people could eventually lead them to develop feelings for them.

Yes, Grandmaster Satele Shan during the Old Republic era had a son, Theron Shan, even, but maintained no emotional attachment to him after his birth.

He became more cybernetic later on when the war flared up again and he launched a coup against the Sith Empire, as well as after that coup failed and he was rebuilt by the Sith Empress Acina.
It's hard not to like Malgus after those cinematics. I think it's time for Disney to start looking for inspiration in the old republic lore!

Fwiw Malgus' sack of the temple also was helped a lot because most of the best Jedi were at the Alderaan Peace Accords or across the galaxy. There was only one master which made it easier. None of that to minimize how much of a badass malgus was.

Actually the sacking of Coruscant wasn't just something with brute force and confidence. There were peace talks going on at a summit between the Republic and Empire. The Empire took advantage of the Republic's top individuals and defenses being at the peace talks. Essentially, they struck when Coruscant was underdefended, taking advantage of the peace talks to basically make the "Treaty of Coruscant" an imperial victory.

For context. The Republic and the Empire were in the process of signing a peace treaty. So the Jedi were not expecting a Sith attack. The invasion of the jedi temple by Malgus was just as much of a suprise as Anakin's. Malgus also had help from other sith warriors where Vader only had clone troopers.
I think Malgus did this while the republic and many of the Jedi were far off to sign a ceasefire treaty with the Empire, they sacked coruscant to help give them more pressed and favorable outcome during the negotiations. This is why the trailer is called “deceived”.

There is actual truth in tapping into one’s hatred, & anger. However, caution should be maintained. As when one cools down it takes a physical toll, in it’s emotional taxation. Likewise, one’s increased urges for bloodlust goes without saying.

@@cm1_g766 I'm not sure about that. I think Sidious was pissed at Vader for losing to Obi Wan. When Vader lost to Obi Wan he lost the potential to become the most powerful sith lords ever to someone Sidious has no fear of. It would be different if Vader had lost to Yoda. Vader would probably have gotten the latest in Armor and Cybernetics after Yoda would slice him up. Sidious wants Vader at his fill potential just not to die by the monster he has created. So I guess pissed and scared would be the right answer.
