Not sure if I like the expanded backstory. What I liked about Hellraiser 2 and 3 was the idea that he was a soldier, a leader and perhaps even a good man who sadly was disillusioned and traumatized by his time in war. That trauma left him wanting to feel something other than the trauma and depression. That it was that need that drove him to find the box and to open it. To me that is a better story because it’s a tragic one. A good man who is trapped in the subconscious of a monster, a man who seeks redemption but is forever stuck watching as his dark self continues to commit horrendous acts. Hell I wouldn’t have even minded one that did take religious tones like him being a man of faith but lost it during the war. A man who lost faith seeing the countless atrocities and death all around him. That by losing faith in good he also stopped believing in evil. That thus could have lead him down the road of “earthly pleasures” and that leads him to the box which upon opening it he realized he was wrong and evil does exist. That’s a heck of a lot more relatable than some crazy dude who torments his family.
You're absolutely right. The original story; the disillusioned soldier becoming pinhead, is the one that matters. That's how Clive Barker envisioned it. It's the only good one too btw.

I think the idea of pinhead is the mix of humanity/pure evil which is why the movie worked so well. As awful as hell on earth was elliot himself even said without his human side pinhead was simply a force for destruction with no restraint and in an odd way restraint is something the cenobites actually need to have in order to be terrifying or the entire idea of "order" they claim to portray really has no meaning. The backstory/plot they/clive created in the comics literally seemed thrown together on the fly and made no sense. I truly hope they dont follow this story in the hulu/HBO remakes/series.
Clive Barker has been trying to get this new reboot off the ground for about a year now that he's gain the rights back but for some reason or another studios won't back it or the people he deals with are incompetent asshats, the whole thing is one big hot mess that I can't make heads or tails of it anymore, depending on the various sources I guess.

I already have seen Hellraiser judgment. This one is more canon than the new one that we got now, but however, that the new one is just a remake, not inclined to be a part of the Hellraiser film series to tell you the truth about that, even if they do, I’ll single to that one and I’ll just say hell raiser ends, and I’m going to try to get Deborah Ally and Ashley Williams to team up And bring it to an end this time no more puzzle box just ran it to an end wire Doug Valley, and Ashley Williams actually descends to Hell and tell leviathan the Lord of the labyrinth and tell them that I release all souls that you made me punish every last one of them, including those that you already have and that is what he’s going to say then, after that, they all rise up all goes spirits, including piss and head and all the cenobites demons being released and this time it will end with a self sacrifice by Doug Valley. I would have to say this is not my time. This is not my world anymore my time was supposed to be over by World War I 19 29,29.1 and the reason why I lasted so long is to say that I really saw self from listening to the Lord of the labyrinth well leviathan And I’m going to see if David Gordon green could do that, but there be some other pinhead already has taken his place, and this time somebody else will have the role as pinhead the Hills priest and Angelique, her return as the house princess will have to return as well and make things right With it all so I would say let it come to an end, and the only way to do that as if someone give us the origin story of the Hellraiser movies on the way to do it is for me to write one is it right now I am working on the idea of Coming up with a screenplay myself starting with the lament configuration box storyline, leading to World War I 1921 year but it’s also going to fall on the Storia. I’m in the Ford but other than that I hope that this week that’s better to you in this because I don’t think it’s fully over the only way for that to come to full circle is to have Doug, Brawley, and , Ashley Williams and those who survived all the other how are the movies teaming up and this one here is gonna be like a horror, film slasher type movie where this version of pinhead is not Doug Brawley, but somebody else will have the part for it so I can’t figure out what was going on why I was having we need the descendent of Philip The tour maker, or I should say, Philip merchant, and all that, so I thought oh, I can come up with the story plot for that store and wine was really bad to Hellraiser bloodline so according to the book bloodline, known as Philly Delashawn leading up to that guy which will have to come back and help and come across space so I will cut collection just cracked the tower and where has a blown line would have to take place after Hellraiser hell world is it supposed to take place when near future and all that although it supposed to be the fourth One, but I think it would have to plays around the time of our old Hellraiser, so yeah, if you like my idea here, I would not mind riding an origin story of pinhead, and also go back to its roots. That would be good for now if you like this idea, go back talk about the timeline and put how is your bloodline taking place after how old is your hell world, try doing that

I'll never understand why the little bastard CHUCKY from CHILDSPLAY, scares the crap outta me but PINHEAD doesn't eve trigger any FIGHT/FLIGHT reactions in me...
@Leslie Hardeman For me, Chucky used to scare me as a kid, because it was a fear of mine fully realized. "A possessed killer doll." When I was a kid, my dad had a doll of Beanie from The Beanie and Cecil Show, and that thing used to creep me out, as I figured any moment it'd spring to life and attack me. And Chucky was the manifestation of that for me. Pinhead? Well for starters my introduction was from the cartoon The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, with a parody of Pinhead who had bowling pins attached to his head. So when I learned that this character was a reference to a monster from the HellRaiser series and saw said monster, aside from Pinhead looking Metal AF, I can't see him without thinking of that parodic counterpart I saw.
@@DemonicRemption I am 41 and I still have a reoccurring nightmare about Chucky still makes me wake up screaming as it is about Chucky killing me with a hammer, the sound of my skull cracking is what wakes me up every damn time. I hate that little effing doll/monster.

I've never enjoyed later entries making pinhead more 'human'.
He works best when he is unbeatable by himans in any way outside of the box. Defeating him by any means other than basiclly retreating makes him seem less.
And compared to myers and other slashers that are regularly beaten by teenagers, he shoukd stand tall above them.
Personally, I loved Hellraiser Judgement
HE. NEEDS TO. COME. BACK
I always wanted to see Pinhead and his mates turn up a fetish club in the film's.
It’s probably best they never found one...might’ve been distracted from their mission...
I think I'm in the minority in that I really liked bloodlines
Agreed. Way underrated.
Really cool videos however the amount of times you say however is a bit much
My favourite part of each film is the fact u get at least 2new cenobites. 👹👺😈 🏴
I liked the idea pinhead was a reincarnation of a Aztec God
Hell Priest
The kirsty from the movie bad asf
I may be wrong, but Angelique was also human
no. she was a princess of the dimension the cenobites are from. They have their own political structure there that is more explored in novels and the comics. When she go summoned she has a human form
@@GrimmBawlls i stand corrected. I thought she was a peasant in the 18th century who got lured to a sadistic ritual by a noble prick and his team, a la marquis de sade. But the joke was on them
@@JuanMartinez-kq1ms she was the body used by the possession of the princess of leviathon
@@JuanMartinez-kq1ms read the short clive barker pinhead comics. they are great and further explore his creation and opens up the door that the hell priest is a mantle that ispassed down to who leviathon sees fit
@@GrimmBawlls i have the comics, wich i love. Is it leviathon or leviathan?
A ''WOW THIS IS BIG.
So basically he was just like Frank 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
On his 20th pfzifer booster
I thought Angelique was once a peasant girl that was sacrificed then came back??? She too I believe had a human origin....
The Me Too movement didn't end Dimension Films, all the sexual abuse did.
I wonder what happened to pinhead when he becomes human again at the end of hell raiser judgment.
It looks like I'm not the only one who thought that #metoo line was a little off. I'd hate to think I subbed to a channel that would minimize victimized women and blame them for there not being another shitty Hellraiser sequel.
Yeah, pretty strange but it probably betrays this person's politics. Weird to say "metoo ruined it" and not "Harvey Weinstein ruined it by being a POS," and I'm not even sure THAT'S true.
actually hated the transition from the movies to the comics in elliots back story. I prefer the movie origins and TBH the comics suck.
It ended up crap. Cenobites are in it for about 10 minutes.there the only good part in the new one on Hulu. Really disappointing 😞
@@cobrakaicyberdon I would have to agree, though it was entertaining and they did pay tribute to the original, somewhat, there was a lackluster dismal ending
@@TimothyONeill_84. yesi m gutted, that pascal laugier, the director of martyrs, was supposed to do the reboot. But apparently, the studio said his vision was too graphic, which is what Hellraiser should be. I just think the one they did was a bit cookie cutter and vanilla. Wasn't terrible, but, I just think it should have made an impact. Which it sadly didn't. I definitely think pascal laugier would have did it justice for the fans. I'm a big horror fan, and martyrs is still one of the only horror films, that stayed with me for days. But hey, at least we got a new Hellraiser. ✌️🙏🙏💯
FYI do yourself a favor and look up Doug Bradley in the makeup chair. Something satisfying about ultra British Pinhead quarterbacking between scenes but of course he would be interested in American football
Love hellraiser but have absolutely no interest in new reboot
This is not my world anymore my time was supposed to be over by World War I 19 29,29.1 and the reason why I lasted so long is to say that I really saw self from listening to the Lord of the labyrinth well leviathan
And I’m going to see if David Gordon green could do that, but there be some other pinhead already has taken his place, and this time somebody else will have the role as pinhead the Hills priest and Angelique, her return as the house princess will have to return as well and make things right With it all so I would say let it come to an end, and the only way to do that as if someone give us the origin story of the Hellraiser movies on the way to do it is for me to write one is it right now I am working on the idea of Coming up with a screenplay myself starting with the lament configuration box storyline, leading to World War I 1921 year but it’s also going to fall on the Storia. That would be good for now if you like this idea, go back talk about the timeline and put how is your bloodline taking place after how old is your hell world, try doing that
How can the "me too movement" have any impact on a fictional creation, a movie is the opposite of what "real" means. They're scared of make believe and imagination? idk why weakness is so powerful in modern times.
30 seconds in and you refer to him as the leader of the cenobites, but there is no leader. He is only the one that can talk the easiest
I thought they were making a new movie?
I don't like them making Cpt. Elliot Spencer a villain. I really liked his character in movies 1&2 (and to extend 3).
Didn’t Wes Craven buy the rights back for Hellraiser?
Next gen is going to make a Karen-head
Genius is a bit of a stretch lol
Great video by the way, but is anyone else really annoyed at how they pronounce Lament and Le' Marchand? 🙄
I think the last movie I saw was the 8th? I think.
There is a new Hellraiser being made with Clive Barker and they have pick the actor to take pinheads place... it's a female
She's actually OK. Problem is, cenobites are in it for only about 10 minutes. Rest of the new hulu hellraiser is crap, imo. 🙏💯
Not a fan of the more elaborate backstories. They don't add anything to the mysterious nature of pinhead. I like the first and second movies were great and inferno was a decent side story.
I agree with you pinhead will beat the shit outta Jason and Michael
The first and second was good. The rest was trash. Cash grabs ruined the franchise
From 3 onwards he was a generic slasher villain
Sorry but I felt the boom story ruined a truly intreasting character.
I'll never understand why the little bastard CHUCKY from CHILDSPLAY, scares the crap outta me but PINHEAD doesn't eve trigger any FIGHT/FLIGHT reactions in me...
Lack of imagination?
@Leslie Hardeman
For me, Chucky used to scare me as a kid, because it was a fear of mine fully realized.
Whoever wrote this must've had problems
Pinhead🤤
Shame the character is about to be utterly killed to tick a woke checkbox. And NO Pinhead isn't female in the fist novel it's genderless then confirmed as male in the Scarlet gospels. End of.
It’s more like two different cenobites.
Scarlet Gospels had Pinhead as we knew him from the movies.
It wouldn't be so bad if it was when he and Kirsty switched lives; she became the hell priestess and he became human. I forget which comic it was they did this in
there already is a hellrasier 11
Still I don't understand these movies
Not one single mention of hellbound heart.. So dissapointing
