A few months before my dad passed away unexpectedly, I had come over to visit him and mom. After a pleasant visit I began to leave and as an afterthought dad called me over to his CD collection and handed me a CD of the Mavericks Greatest Hits. He said "this guy has quite the voice, you should listen to it." That was 2005. I still have and cherish that CD today, and love the Mavericks thanks to his suggestion. My dad had a ear for great vocalists.
Condolences, yes, and now he and you have this memory of Raul Malo's great voice and the Mavericks music.

it was 97--98 and the album just came out and :"Bring me down" was hott i was 13. i begged my dad to take me . The show was close by in Myrtle beach ,s.c we had front row tickets . the guys had lava lamps everywhere and it looked so cool , long story short robert R and Raul came down and gave me guitar picks. what a awsome memory now im 37 and the band is still going . way cool

The Mavericks are not only fun, they also make you feel happy and energetic while listening, all of which is a good thing as far I am concerned. I love this band!
WOOOW… you can listen 100 times and still is just as fantastic. His voice and interpretation of each sound and melody to the Virtuoso Eddie Perez to the all other instrument Virtuoso 100% of the time through each song and the cohesiveness of the orchestra and ultra rich sounds… one of the few, very few band that sound much better live than In studio!!!!

I’ve seen a lot of bands, and none of them has more fun onstage than these guys, and it’s contagious. It doesn’t hurt that they’re all so talented. I just got to see them for the first time and I hope to see them many more. My partner got up and danced on his own and he has never done that in public in his 54 years. (I checked.) He doesn’t even dance at home. Anyone who can get this man to dance is doing something right.

I directed / switched this video at Sandia Casino and will have the privilege to do it at Isleta Casino November 19 it’s always fun very talented musicians. It will be my 12 chance to work with them again. My crew always enjoy their shows and look forward to it as well. 😊

Wife hired the Mavericks to play for a private surprise party for me because she knows Mavericks best band there is. Private security of SpecOps veterans was needed knowing Mavericks have loyal following. People who heard Mavericks playing outside the club became Maverick fans that evening. Mavericks made this one bash everyone still talking about . Best present ever, a memory for all of us who were there. Mavericks got me some extra loving from my wife too.
Love their music. That accordion guy holy cow. One of the most difficult instruments to accomplish. And I love being able to understand the words so clearly.

Great band! Great voice! I don’t understand Espaniol but he could sing the phone book and still keep you riveted. Almost 2 hours and still leaves you wanting more. Bravo Raul!

Was my video directing to orchestrated. I can’t hear what they are playing and just have 5 cameras to cover them. They are my favorite band to shoot have had the pleasure 12 times. Truly talented musicians!!

Sorry, but I disagree. Despite of the perfect performance by Raul, there is only one version of Blue Moon that is sung in the way it was written (th-cam.com/video/VXpfSH3Sg00/w-d-xo.html). Since then, no one has ever surpassed that.
They have a tight rhythm section and give space for the others to shine during solos.
Raul's singing is just a added bonus for us fans of the Mavericks. I am glad they have kept together after all these years, even with the personal changes, the core remains. If you like this show, you need to see them live and get up and dance, they welcome it as do the other fans.

We had the pleasure to be entertained by these perfectionists in Ann Arbor MI and I would in a heartbeat see them again.
My wife with her siblings as well her husband's just love there music.
Truly it's there passion to entertain the crowd.
Every song seeded like it was the grand finally.
Over 2 hrs and just wanting more.
I would encourage anyone who' os a music fan to try to see them.
I personally am a polish music enthusiasts along with my brothers-in-laws Mexican with the according.

Have been a follower for 30 years and they are one of the best" bring down the house bands" of all time. Saw them in the late 90's at the SD Fair Grounds in Del Mar. I just found this post and I’m thrilled!!! This Mavaholic had to miss this show due to illness but It won’t happen again! I’ve been a fan from the beginning and Mavericks are the only concerts I attend. It’s hard to put into words how fabulous these guys are, but if you’ve been to their concerts I know you get it 💕They are special and that’s all there is to it!

First concert I’ve seen since way before the pandemic and I couldn’t have picked a better band to go see! AMAZING from start to finish! No one noticed the heat (93 degrees!) and by the encore it started to rain lightly! Raul’s voice was as kick ass as usual, and the rest of the band was on the very top of their game!! 👏🏼 🎶 🎤 🎸 🎹 🥁 🎺 🎷 🪗

My Lady and I were at this concert. To say that this concert was great just does not do it justice. We have seen them 6 or 7 times in concert and this was the best so far. Perfect vocals, perfect instrumentals, and Raul and Eddie's vocals make hearing them a wonderfully entertaing evening. We'll go see them again in December when they come to Santa Fe. They just seem to get better and better every year. Keep it up guys!!

Saw them in concert. St. George Theater. Staten Island. Unforgettable!!! Let alone Raul Malo, the band is simply great. Watch the keyboardist. So much fun to watch. Makes me want to get up and dance. And so I do. In the words of the late Great David Bowie, dancing with myself.

I am 77 years of age and had never heard of The Mavericks until about 3 months ago (I live in Australia) when I accidentally came across them on TH-cam when looking for versions of Your Cheatin Heart. Over the decades I have heard and seen many bands and groups, virtually lost interest over the past 30 years or more because no group appealed. The Mavericks in my opinion is the best band ever that I have heard - better than the Beatles, Rolling Stones, AC/DC, ABBA, and other group or any individual singer. And in looking at/listening to them in TH-cam videos going back 30 years, they just keep getting better and better. The variety of their music is spectacular (rock, pop, country, Latin, crooning, etc) and it amazes me how they can produce an almost orchestral quality to some of their instrumentals. I have not been to a band concert for donkeys' years, because none have interested me - but if The Mavericks came to Australia, I would be first in line for tickets. I like to mess about with guitar playing and singing and I have added several Mavericks songs to my favorites. I also love the fact that they have picked up on and improved many old songs which were great in their day (50-70 years ago) but passed into obscurity in recent decades, because people are always looking for something new. Good music is good music, regardless of how long ago it was popular. I have also noted that a typical big crowd that comes to see The Mavericks consists of people of all ages from late teenagers to people probably older than me. Fantastic band and lead singer (and no doubt the boss), Raul Malo. Long may they live and play and entertain.
