I'm not sure this is what Merle had in mind, but I hope that he would approve, because this kicks ass.
I don't care care many other groups are out there. Raul and his group of musicians are about all I want to listen to.
My wife and I have seen them 4 times live and recently saw Raul play a solo acoustic set and they are one of the greatest live bands I've ever seen and his voice is absolutely amazing. Even though I'm an old Metalhead, I fell in love with the band 20 years ago and I never get tired of their music. I'm at the point in my life where I only listen to great music, doesn't matter what the genre is.

They are the full package of performance: beat, vocals, and instrumental support. I can listen to them all day, and I do most days. They are the greatest.

The Mavs are the best band around, and Raoul can sing any kind of song and make it a classic! Merle did it as a great ballad, but couldn't have even DREAMED it could sound like this!!!

The trumpet solo is like the pony motor to a big bore, heavy compression diesel motor on a chilly start. Once that Sax kicks in, gets up and chuggin, it’s eargasmic. Love this band! Party on Wayne!!!
Even my Lab, "Jack" will let me hold the head phones up to his ears, both of them, and he just sits still and looks into space wondering where such beautiful music is coming from.
At 71 YO and a traditional country bar music ex musician from Florida, I still remember how refreshing it was to hear their version of this tune. Not bad for a bunch of Miami Boys !

Saw them last night in Winnipeg. If you ever have the chance to see them live don't miss them. 1400 people at the Club Regent Event Center dancing and singing. They played for an hour and 20 minutes then came back out to play for another 40 minutes. What a party!

Thanks! I bought it off eBay and in the photos it looked blue. I was shocked when I unpacked it because it was not blue. I loved the Teal metallic green even more. This color was only ran a year or two.

Damn good in concert, caught them at ACL in Austin about 2004, featured band that night, and they knocked the lights out at Zilker Park. He likes this town ... we like him too.

They came to Australia on a small promo tour and played at the Gympie Muster a few years ago ... a small out of the way place about an hour from my place ... it was the best hour I have spent driving .. One of my all time favourite bands ... after the gig they came out to meet the fans ... I spoke to Paul the drummer ... what a drummer and what a lovely guy ... I am a drummer myself but he blew me away ... then I shook Raul's hand and told him he was the first singer I had ever seen with steam coming off his back ... there were about 10 musicians on stage that night including about 6 guitarists and no one overplayed ... one of the best concerts I have ever seen in my life ..... and I have seen them all .

Malo is likely to spring music not on the playlist. The band plays anything. You owe it to yourself to see them LIVE. If the crowd is into it, Mavericks respond. Crazy fun.

This band is out of this world, and this version of the old classic song is beyond awesome. I listen to it at least once a week. Another favorite by them is the "All You Ever Do Is Bring Me Down."
