That cellar was built to keep foodstuffs and wine cool in the summer and to provide a store cupboard for the winter. When you live out in the countryside, you will discover this is how all your neighbours still use their cellars and it’s the best and wisest use of such a room.
Yes of course, we have plans for that too! x

Lovely to see an update. That place is the best one so far - really hope we see what you do to the place as it is really incredible with all those lovely rooms and panelled ceilings. It's going to be stunning when finished.
Thank you for sharing the vision on the place. Again it was all about getting to a better location for our needs, we have lucked out that the property is also amazing
From what you have shown. It looks like it would be quicker to move into the Larger House as this looks on video to be in ready to move in condition - once the new windows are in, save for a bathroom. The Annexe seems to be a major undertaking. So you would be able to save on rental costs and free up money for the build in total. ATB looking forward to seeing your progress

and there are no move in conditions anywhere, no water or electrics 😉 have to work in order based on getting the utilities to the building 👍

Thanks Mark! Yes we're gonna share costs as we go through the process. We really don't have an idea of full costs until we're done. The river is in our current village, not near the new house 😜

I have problems finding an architect in Oresh , near to Svishtov,where my place is and find it hard to get prices while I am in the UK.You are in such a lucky position to have such a big house that you are spoilt for choice about what rooms will be used for what. Typically the BGN houses are small with not enough rooms. I need to add more rooms to mine and the locals are saying to just add to it,but as a Johnny foreigner,I want to apply for planning permission etc ,but can't find a flaming architect 😢. I hear that the process to apply for planning permission as a private house owner is a nightmare to say the least, but I wish that I could do it myself and do the work slowly. I must pop by when I visit BG in October 😊😜@@ourderelictdream
We can always ask our partner if he has any contacts in that area. Have you tried asking your local municipality for their own architect? They should be able to guide you on the permissions process and have local recommendations@@VWApachey

Hi Sarah, glad you like it! We've mentioned in previous videos that we need to be closer to schools and shops etc for Hudson as I don't drive xx
and a village with some children for Hudson too

Thanks Pippa, we're gonna share more information on the window prices in another video, on average we have gone for a spec that's 200 euros per window, but you can get cheaper. House prices depend on location, we are ten minutes from VT, we are no longer sharing personal information such as location

How much do you think it will cost to fully do? Iam stuck don't know if to buy project or house finished? I hear building materials not cheap in bg?? And I would need to pay for most building work
It's really hard to answer that question as we're in the beginning stages, and plan to do this over time. Lee has seen prices of timber go up and down over the years, currently materials cheaper than the UK. That's why we're doing to document this one as we go along to be able to give real time ideas of prices. I hear your dilemma, hence why we stress getting the location right first. We simply could NEVER afford a finished property in the area we wanted to live (well, a finished property full stop..!) so we have to have a project. We chose a project property in a good area so we know it's worth the long term investment. If you happen to be able to afford a finished property then personally we would recommend that due to the difficulties you can come across with finding good labour
Around €100,000 to finish this property to a high standard. Could be done for much less of course
@@ourderelictdream I've seen alot of homes around £50k-£70k ready to live in and good propertys some with swimming pools I know freinds bought a few big projects iam thinking save time and enjoy travelling gb in my truck and buy built house but I see so many amazing projects aswell lol

You started saying why you werent moving into the main house has it looked OK. Anyway thanks for your video's, I'm coming to VT next week to look at property.
It looks more liveable but in fact would mean more work. We don't want to be installing temporary kitchens or bathrooms just to move in..we want to do everything permanent from day 1. Hope you have a great trip over, let us know if you want us to set you up with any viewings 🤪

Hi are you far from bistrenci nearer ruse .im needed someone to veiw a property there as photos are old and googlemaps just short and can not see .would much prefer pay someone local to see if still standing
Hi Marie, we're not near there no, but you need to be asking your agent or the owner to provide up to date pictures and a video if you can't make it in person, this is highly recommended. Depends on what some say 🤣🤣 For certain late July and early August we are hitting 40 degrees where we are. We are now doing to early 30's
