Excellent video! Just 1 small question. How did you hookup the seatbelt insert to base? I don't believe you can remove the stud from stock seat. Did you just get a bolt to put through the base?
I made sure I had everything i needed that this video described before I even got my seats. Watched the video a bunch of times and watched it as I started the install. Everything is hooked up as it shows in the video and my airbag light is still on? No idea what to do about it at this point 😕
hey man, super helpful video. 2 questions - how big are you, if you don''t mind me asking? trying to judge if I'd fit in the Evo 1's. Also, any way you could show a picture of the stock seat belt receptacle clearance on the seats? I am curious to see if it's hard to get in, and if the lap belt still goes in the right place over your hips. Thanks
Hey man i followed ur steps exactly how u did and i got an airbag light. Occupancy classification module. I know thats usually meaning in needs a calibration. I did not unplug anything connected to the module only unplug the seatbelts and yellow airbag wire. Pleaseee let me know
Has anyone attempted to utilize the sensor bypass module? I've read you need to have the seat buckled at all times with this installed as a result or put a "dummy" clip in the female end to trick and override the system.
What did you do with the little black box (position sensor) from under the driver side? Just leave it under the seat? Do we have to affix it with some tape to a spot on the aftermarket rail or it’s ok just let it sit under the seat?
Hey bro, I just noticed the weight sensors on the passengers were tuck in under the seat. This means that if you have someone sits on the passenger side, the airbag is not active. The weight sensors need to compress in order for the car to know that someone is sitting on the passenger seat.
Alex Jann Correct, you’d have to use mini clamps or something to apply the pressure to fake it out. I didn’t bother, Sparco seats you already lose the side seat airbag and with the harnesses strapping you in you can’t move 2” off the seat so won’t be face smashing the airbag if an accident happened 🤞🏼 BUT not to say it’s a bad idea to activate them if you want just not my path plus I ride solo about 90% of the time
They guy at the store that corrected you on the pronunciation of Bride was correct in Japan with their language it’s pronounced Brid but spelt like Bride which is how most people not from Japan say it 👍🏻
Excellent video bro! I have a lancer Ralliart Sportback and followed all steps but when I got to the weight sensor part I noticed that the (passenger) seat does not have weight sensors like in your video. They seem to be built in the actual seat itself. Any suggestions on how to bypass this issue? Thanks!
Thanks man! I haven’t had any experience with those built in ones I’d imagine you could potential try resistors to trick the plug to think it’s plugged in. Good luck hopefully something like that works
Hey man I’ve been riding around with oem recaros in my 15’ evo. I’ve swapped my cars Module on the bracket, sensors, and seat belts+cable and I’m still getting passenger seat belt and air bag lights. Idk why it’s not working for me. Maybe I have one of the sensors swapped around on accident or something. Any ideas what I should do? We’re you able to clear your codes when you had the oem recaros in your car?
So you just left your weight sensors loose under the passenger seat? Everything I’m reading is they need weight on pressure on them or they will set off a code. I completely understand the SRS resistor and seat belt portions, but there seems to be no definitive weight sensor answer.
He didn’t utilize he weight sensors. He just plugged the harness back up and stuffed them back under the carpet. You won’t have the side airbag and all the car won’t read their is a passenger ever in the seat unless you manage to find a way to attach your weight sensors to your aftermarket rail or you buy one of the weight occupancy sensors as he stated at the beginning of the video...Hope that helps.
John Pangilinan I am not positive but I would think the so considering 2015 Evo x’s came with lancer seats from factory like mine was before I got the recaros before I got these
i was just wondering, could you bolt the 4 weight sensors together facing each other? like 2 and 2 to engage the airbags? Im waiting on my aftermarket seats and trying to figure this out before i rip out my crappy 2015 seats.
I couldn’t see that working because you have to have a certain amount of pressure against them to trigger it. I’ve heard of people using baby vice clamps to engage them. Gonna have to get creative
@@xtra_slo1596 appreciate it. I guess I'll look into everything once my seats come in. Ordered the resistors. Your videos ate absolutely the best because it goes step by step for everything Evo X.
robert turwon rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/99?loc=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fp%2F1777238730%3Fiid%3D291799513795 So eBay sells multiple versions of these but one like this is what I would have bought if I went this route. Good luck and search the forums and you will find the write up on this I referenced in the video
Slowly climbing! Channel is growing a sub and a like at a time
Very helpful... I'm planning on doing this to my 2015 too cause I don't like the Lancer seats the cars comes with

Great vid man! How tall are you and your weight and what size did you get for those seats?

How much did each of the Recaro seats weigh? Did you say the Sparco Evo X are 16 lb each?
Thanks much!

Can you post a link up for the bride Brackett
Same resistors for drivers side ?
Can you put a link to the brackets?
how to buy pass weight sensor
Did u install the seat weights?
Are the back of your seat weight sensors numbered 19,19,15, and 16?
Phil M sorry I wouldn’t know the exact numbers stamped individually
Whats the Size of those seats? Sparko Evo L or M?
AEpic it’s the new 2019 Evo QRT. Here is a link www.sparcousa.com/product/evo-qrt
I was wondering if the base lancer is same? Or different with evo x?
John Pangilinan I am not positive but I would think the so considering 2015 Evo x’s came with lancer seats from factory like mine was before I got the recaros before I got these
what size are those wheels and tires ?
can i get a link too where tou got those seats and resister? please thank you
Contact Sparco USA headquarters and they will direct you to the most local authorized dealer to you and the resister you can purchase from amazon.com
Xtra_Slo do by any chance know how to reset the airbag module??
please tell me where you bought these resistors
You can purchase them threw amazon or eBay

Link to the occupancy sensor ??
robert turwon I didn’t use one so I don’t have a direct reference but if you google search it you’ll find them
Xtra_Slo so the way you did it was just by bridging the yellow wire, pluging the module in with the sensors and leaving it in the car??
robert turwon correct, I just wrapped them up and tucked it under the seat and have had no issues with any dash codes.
Xtra_Slo I’m in the process of replacing my seats can you please send the link to the resistor can’t find that specific one lol
