that is a valid line of thinking in ONE scenario : you are outclassed by your opponent, in every line except will to win. even then, it only really works in real time games. turn-based, not so much. i tend to lose MTG matches against one of my buddies as soon as i start tilting, because i stop using my head and start playing emotionally.

DarthUchiha17 I know right but even though he lost against aster he lost his confidence and lost 10 more duels but after Zane won his first underground duel his confidence and skills return and he was twice as popular as before, and won a lot more duels and upgraded his deck

Zane says he never found a reason in his 3 years to visit Slifer Red dorm, so that means he never visited his own little brother at all while he was at duel academy. He's like Seto, but the opposite of Seto sometimes. SMH
To be fair, two of those years his brother wasn't in the academy. Syrus was only there for a year and during that year, he had more important things, like trying to protect his key from shadow riders and yknow, being top of the class. That most certainly wouldn't come easily.
zane only started seeing syrus as an actual brother when it turned out he was not completely useless at dueling before that zane was willing to let syrus die trying to swim his way home
Seto loves his brother and would risk his life for him, but his eyes are fixed on business management. Zane... he's Kaiba with no ego and some love for his brother.

it's sort of a lost in translation issue. he is playing more carefully and thinking out his plays, as opposed to just topdecking his way out and playing his favorite toys. in the japanese he's more calm in the episode and isn't as enthused
This show made me laugh so much. The first series pushed things but this series. A entire world based around a card game where you have military ships sending cards. Just makes me chuckle at the silliness of it.

The problem is that Jaden believes the only way to beat Zane is to play on his terms. Unfortunately, this causes him to get cocky and think Zane will pull the exact same moves he did last time, only to be caught off-guard when he doesn't. He's less focused on having fun like he usually is and more focused on defeating his opponent, ironically disrespecting him in the process. And as we saw back in episodes 7 & 8, Zane has a strong disdain for cocky duelists who disrespect their opponents, like Syrus back when they were kids.

Retrospectively, this episode is one of the most annoying. 'Use your heart, not your head.' And Jaden was actually putting in work using his head too, smh
Except Judai could have been matured without having such big attitude backlashes of him going from brighter and cheery to being a dick and then back to being nice. Also having Johan / Jesse appear and be a practical clone of Judai and supplanting Sho / Syrus as his best friend, bringing back Rei / Blair for *no* reason other than to tease romantic competition with Asuka / Alexis (and giving her a huge growth spurt out of nowhere, and that competition not even going anywhere in the end), dropping much of the abandoned dorm mystery, the whole Hell Kaiser Ryo / Zane plot point all but being dropped (and without any explanation for the Cyber Dark Deck and why it killed its users, prompting it to be sealed away in the first place), and so on. 3 and 4 were just so sloppy compared to 1 and 2 (with a bunch Duels either being extremely short just for time filler or ending prematurely without any result) and, like I said, I largely blame it on the anime suddenly shifting gears into trying to win back skeptical Duel Monsters' fans by unnecessarily trying to turn GX "darker" when they really didn't need to.
Season 4 was the best season of Yugioh ever. Only issue was that they cut it short because they wanted to push out Synchro monsters from 5Ds, meaning they wanted more money.
Shaman Xeed season 3 was shit and one of the few shows I didn’t want to watch it’s literally dull the last bit would’ve been better if the entire season was good

Hahaha I mean. I'd say Zane is a more chill version of Kaiba, at least in season one. He's snide and cocky, but not ACTIVELY hostile. Jaden, I think, is sort of a blend between Yugi and Joey; he's got Joey's confidence and luck, but Yugi's faith and skill, but he's a lot more laid back than either.

The problem is that Jaden believes the only way to beat Zane is to play on his terms. Unfortunately, this causes him to get cocky and think Zane will pull the exact same moves he did last time, only to be caught off-guard when he doesn't. He's less focused on having fun like he usually is and more focused on defeating his opponent, ironically disrespecting him in the process. And as we saw back in episodes 7 & 8, Zane has a strong disdain for cocky duelists who disrespect their opponents, like Syrus back when they were kids.

I don’t consider this best dual because Jaden wasn’t being himself in this.
GX was so underrated and in order to try to make it "darker" and crap, they sent it downhill with Seasons 3 and 4.
4 is okai , we see a more mature Jaden. Because of all the bullshit that went down
Except Judai could have been matured without having such big attitude backlashes of him going from brighter and cheery to being a dick and then back to being nice.
Also having Johan / Jesse appear and be a practical clone of Judai and supplanting Sho / Syrus as his best friend, bringing back Rei / Blair for *no* reason other than to tease romantic competition with Asuka / Alexis (and giving her a huge growth spurt out of nowhere, and that competition not even going anywhere in the end), dropping much of the abandoned dorm mystery, the whole Hell Kaiser Ryo / Zane plot point all but being dropped (and without any explanation for the Cyber Dark Deck and why it killed its users, prompting it to be sealed away in the first place), and so on.
3 and 4 were just so sloppy compared to 1 and 2 (with a bunch Duels either being extremely short just for time filler or ending prematurely without any result) and, like I said, I largely blame it on the anime suddenly shifting gears into trying to win back skeptical Duel Monsters' fans by unnecessarily trying to turn GX "darker" when they really didn't need to.
Season 4 was the best season of Yugioh ever. Only issue was that they cut it short because they wanted to push out Synchro monsters from 5Ds, meaning they wanted more money.
Shaman Xeed season 3 was shit and one of the few shows I didn’t want to watch it’s literally dull the last bit would’ve been better if the entire season was good

Zane is basicly the edgier version of Seto Kaiba, while Jaden is basicly more modern version of Yugi Motto.
Hahaha I mean. I'd say Zane is a more chill version of Kaiba, at least in season one. He's snide and cocky, but not ACTIVELY hostile. Jaden, I think, is sort of a blend between Yugi and Joey; he's got Joey's confidence and luck, but Yugi's faith and skill, but he's a lot more laid back than either.
