    @Vash1202What happened is that Rorion ( Renner and Ryron's dad)was the first Gracie to immigrate to the USA. He registered the name Gracie Jiu-Jitsu as a trademark and there was even some family fights over royalty issues. Other JJ masters , even those that were former students of the Gracie family could not use the term Gracie Jiu-jitsu for their art without paying royalties. SO they started using the term Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Now a days it is as you said a method of teaching.

    i'm going to earn my black belt from watching these videos...

      Andry Lee Uhhhh...NO! It doesn't work like that. Its best to attend some classes and practice with others. And it takes on average 10 years (training in classes) to get black belt. And yes watching videos can help you develop quicker.

    simply basic and very usefull

    @kiriappeeee I guess you would just have to handle it and continue to apply the technique. For real, no pain, no gain. You might get an ear bitten but that will only distract you. You can still defend yourself from major threats, unlike the dude with the broken arm or dislocated shoulder.

    @kiriappeeee Obviously, this isn't street fighting. There are techniques that can be applied outside the ring, and definitely ones that cannot.

    About being punched while you do this. The person on the ground cannot relax their back muscles AND is fighting gravity. It is very hard to get a powerful punch from the bottom position. People sometimes try and but it doesn't work.

      Unless they were just being nice. My understanding is the nicer high belt levels will allow you to follow through for training purposes. One side-effect of this is you'll hear a lot of white belts bragging about how they got, say for instance, a purple belt to tap.

      @@travellcriner6849 I'm a white belt and I know completely who could smash me at any time. There's one or two blue belts in my gym who I have 120 pounds on that I might occasionally catch in a guillotine or kimura but you can usually tell if they're pacing for you

    if you use this move you are going to jail or
    getting sued

  • @dmc535
    @dmc535 17 ปีที่แล้ว

    it's called self defense for a reason... maybe if you are the attacker and you use your ability to hurt someone you would go to "jail"..lol.. or get sued.. but not if you're defending yourself.
