This is just f**king brilliant. Well done. I love all the old rickety streets in between the buildings. Fascinating

@@Buugane I watched it, thank you. It's amazing. I'd love to go back to old Douglas for a day and wonder through the streets

Absolutely fantastic. Utterly fascinating having read so much about Old Douglas in this era and seen many old pics. But also I found this very emotional, thinking of my great grandparents who were Quayside folk living, playing as children and growing up around these streets. Thank you very much for putting this together

    This is Brilliant,
My Nan lived on North Quay, she lived in a boarding house that my great grandmother ran. I think it used to be where The Bridge bar is now

Excellent, even as an outsider, albeit one who visits the Island on a regular basis, I was able to easily find my bearings. A first-rate presentation!

Brilliant video! Wonderful to see long gone bits of the Island we’ve heard so much about. Great idea to do it!

Would the Manx Museum put your 2 videos on a continuous loop video monitor display in some corner of the museum?

Saw the Liverpool Arms in this video, has it got a direct connection historically with the recently closed down Liverpool Arms on the way to Baldrine?

    • @Buugane

Not that I know to. The full title of the pub is the Manchester and Liverpool Arms. The Liverpool part came from the Liverpool House which moved from Bond Street to the North Quay in 1831. There is a really good book by Suzanne Cubbon called "Manx Inns, a pub crawl through history". Well worth it if you can find a copy. ISBN 1 901508 01 3

My Father was born in 1926 at #1 South Quay, so he would have been 9yrs old when all of this was destroyed

Great video! What was the software used to create this?

Props were made using an old copy of Modo5.5, textured using Substance Painter, Characters were by iClone/cc3 and the whole thing put together using Unreal (this was my first time with Unreal and it is great to use). Video rendered using vegas pro.

Don’t know of any commercially available ones but the first place I would try is the library at the Manx Museum. They are very helpful and don’t mind if you take a photo or two
