What do you think about Newcastle upon Tyne? 🍻🎉
When you were in the restaurant you said "buying my eyes"
What does it means?
I'm sorry if I bug you for this sort of a question
Amazing city so glad I moved here
I love it, but, there again I'm from here ! There are 7 bridges, the footbridge or Millenium Bridge is nicknamed the Winking Eye Bridge, reason being it lifts and tips up for boats to pass under. If you're downriver , near the bend in the river,( in fact the Free Trade in slightly up from the river) as the Bridge opens , you'll see it exactly aligns with the iconic Tyne Bridge , exactly like an eyelid blinking ! Also, the Bridge lights up in multicolour at night 🎉❤
I’ve lived in Gateshead all my life and I love Newcastle. Lots of things to do.
The greatest toon in England
People down south who have never been say its a dire place and no one would want to visit 😂😂 thats what we want them to think . 😂😂
By 'people down south' do you mean Mackems?
Haha, fair enough! You like your peace & quiet I guess 😜
@@JayandKarolina Here you're beer house of the rising sun. Has ties to Geordie land
As lead singer of the band the animals that. Sang. House of the rising sun, is. A Geordie from. Newcastle,
North east is England's best kept secret
Yeah, don't come up here it's bloody awful lol
I'm a Southerner, but a proud Newcastle United fan (family & Alan Shearer reasons). Newcastle Upon Tyne is a truly, truly special, beautiful place. The people are wonderful, warm and friendly, proud of their city and welcoming to anyone who comes to enjoy. It's just a lovely place, the architecture and history is incredible, the river Tyne is beautiful, the football club is in my biased opinion, the greatest most passionate in the land, and the nightlife is absolutely incredible. A fantastic place to spend time.
The amount of travelling football fans who have asked me where x y and z is and I say "howay let me show ye man" and made friends with them that I catch up with and have a catch up when they come back the seasons after. It's always been London clubs that have been so nice and open to having a good laugh.
It is nice to hear such words from what you called a "southerner" because it really shows that the north has a lot to offer :) Thanks for watching and we have no doubt from the comments that Geordies are just as proud of their region ❤️
@@JayandKarolina honestly a druggie dump if i could i would move anywhere else
@JayandKarolina
Glad you liked visiting us. Wish you'd had time for the Victoria tunnel, Black Friars, the Great North Museum, the Laing Art Gallery, Jesmond Dene, (you missed some great hidden bars in the Grainger Market). You could have taken the metro 20 mins and had time at the beach x. Don't forget Beamish open air museum but you'd need a full day for that. Oh well save it for your next visit 😊
Newcastle is a fabulous city. Small enough to be friendly and familiar, large enough to offer all the trappings of a major city. And on the doorstep is a breathtakingly beautiful coast and countryside, castles, history, heritage you name it.
We love cities like this because there is something for everyone 😍 And the people create an amazing atmosphere - we felt at home straight away!
I’m from Middlesbrough and now live I the City of Durham so I’m from the North East region . In essence Newcastle is the largest city and could be said to be the regions capital . I’ve quite a few Geordie pals and Newcastle is an amazing city , very vibrant , it’s buzzing with a lot of history too . One of the best things about Newcastle is it’s people like all North East folk they are friendly , very welcoming you won’t find more friendly folk than this region .
If your young in Newcastle you can have the time of your life too endless bars , clubs , Restaurants as a young man I loved the record shops in Newcastle. There’s plenty to do , I’ve never had a bad night out there .
It's amazing how much this city has to offer! We literally absorb energy from the surroundings, so we immediately felt the good energy flowing from people who were friendly and helpful :) It's wonderful to hear from locals how they like life in Newcastle (and the surrounding area!).
@@JayandKarolina try Durham 👍
im from sunderland, yeah a mackem, but served and worked in felling back in the day, most friendly people in the world the north east
forget the football rivalry, but has to be one of the best nights out in the country, even beats us hands down in sunderland
I agree! The people were so welcoming and friendly! The St James Stadium looked amazing so even if I’m a Liverpool FC fan, I would love to see the game over there 🥳 Pubs were super lively so we truly enjoyed our experience as well in the recommended by a local Brinkburn pub 🍻
has to be better than standing outside the offy in mackemland
@@tonyelsender6037 took a while for an idiot, to respond, well done,
As a Geordie and Gateshead resident, I love Newcastle. One of the friendliest people in Britain.
This is so nice to hear :) And we could have experienced straightaway how nice people are over there! No wonder it must be so nice to live in Newcastle when you're being surrounded by nice people!
@@JayandKarolina I’m glad you enjoyed your experience of Newcastle. I visited that pizza shop this afternoon for a big slice 😋
Unless you are from Sunderland :)
I'm so glad you liked Newcastle, everyone is so friendly, we have a lot of history here and passion about our football club, we have great sportsman and actors from our region, its a beautiful part of the UK that doesn't get recognition it deserves so 🙏 thank you for this video, your welcome back anytime.
At least we aren't (yet) a multicultural mess with overcrowding, violence, rape and murder like other towns and cities in the UK...
Well done folks I'm from Newcastle and your vlog really showed what our City is all about. I'm so pleased you both had a great visit and enjoyed it.We are so proud of our Cty and welcome people from far and wide. We Geordies are the most welcoming people the country and anything goes. Next time try and get a match ticket to watch the Toon it's by far the best day out and atmosphere in the country. Cheers
It's so good to hear from a local Georgie how much you love your region - so beautiful! As a football fan, I will definitely try to do it during my next visit! It will probably be an amazing experience ⚽️🥳
I am from Newcastle, and very good video, so proud of where i'm from, and you really did us justice, so thank you. I agree with comment's that you missed a trick, not looking at coast line (all the way, from sunderland to berwick).
We're glad that the local Geordies are so proud of their city :) Seeing the coast line would've been nice! Also I'm sure we missed a lot of things, but that's okay - there will always be a good reason to come back! 😬
In ouseburn, you can take a tour of the Victoria Tunnel, which runs under the city to the town moor (by St James Park)
Incredible engineering and was used as a bomb shelter during ww2
I totally agree, I visited Newcastle and Gateshead for the first time last year for work. Everyone I met up there was great and the area itself was really amazing with incredible history almost around every corner, as well as some fantastic restaurants and bars. I will definitely go back up there for a city break in the future 👍
We agree with everything you said! It's a great city where everyone is sure to find something for themselves 🥳
How do you not know about Newcastle? Always been ranked as one of the best, usually the best nightlife destinations in the UK. Also always considered one of the best away trips for football fans around the country.
It has some of the most beautiful architecture & finest stretches of coastline anywhere.
Newcastle always comes to mind for a city break, unless youve been living under a rock.
Anything but underated!
My thoughts exactly 👍 everywhere I’ve travelled around the world, everyone knows about Newcastle and how wonderful it is. This video is already annoying me… I can’t watch the rest of it. These 2 are so uneducated they’re unintentionally slightly funny in a weird way…
As someone who lives in the Midlands, people know it's a good night out, but they have absolutely no idea about how nice the city is. They seem to have some strange ideas about it being horrible.
Every friend I've brought up has fell in love with it and has been genuinely shocked.
what about the west end ..is that good .. ?
Never been there ourselves so we wanted to check it out! Many people don't know about how amazing Newcastle is so thus the title 😜 We've received so many comments form the locals not to share the truth because indeed even if it's ranked one of the best cities/nightlife destinations, not many actually know how nice the people or atmosphere is in the North compared to the South.
The north-east offers soooo much. Countryside, urban, beaches, etc. beautiful place.
Yeah, we totally agree! We love the atmosphere up north! And also people are super welcoming so definitely it wasn't our last time in the region :)
Any recommendations which cities you would be interesting to see on the bigger screen? 🥳 We do our research but it's always best to ask a local!
Raining all the time .
The best city in England 🏴
Cities are hell holes.
Great video guys and as a Geordie myself, you did our city proud. There are a lot of people who still believe "it's grim up north". But you were very respectful. Hope you enjoyed it and had a safe journey home.
Well said! Thank you so much for watching! We really loved exploring Newcastle so it wasn't our last time over there 100% :)
❤Thank you for your introduction of NewCastle 👏👏
We really enjoyed the city! First time there but definitely not the last one 😍 All the people we met so welcoming and friendly so definiely would need to come back to explore more of the local side of it too!
Accidentally came across your channel, I live in Newcastle, great informed video…. And there’s so much more but please don’t tell everyone because that’s part of the joy.😢
Thank you! More videos to come - around the whole of UK - so hoping not to destroy the pece and beauty of Newcastle 😌
The ship you walked past in the discovery meuseum was built by Charles Parson in 1894, its the world's first steam turbine powered ship, Turbinia, which changed the face of maritime history and in 1897 was the fastest ship in the world. Hugely significant
I has not expect this neither 🤩 Newcastle is a very nice, stone, old city! 🏰
We really liked how the old architecture is intertwined with modern buildings and solutions 😍 The city is undergoing lots of renovations at the moment so it’s going to be even more modern soon!
The thing that intrigues me as a Newcastle resident is the amount of southern English people who live Here ! Think it goes under the radar a bit…but I seem to run into so many ! and lovely people they are too…when it comes to my city I am quite happy with the way David dimberley described it … it’s a handsome city !
I believe all the southern people that came for a visit just planned to stay longer because they enjoyed it so much 😜 But jokes aside, we truly believe that the quality of life, friendly people & property prices are so much better compared to the south so probably that's the reason why!
Fantastic video, Newcastle is a lovely place, the people are very friendly and the countryside is stunning. The nightlife is outstanding also.👏🏼
Couldn't agree more! Thank you so much for watching our video :)
Definitely underrated as a city. A great place to base yourself when exploring the North East. Having the Metro is a big plus in that respect.
Totally agree! We could have easily stayed for longer and explore more of the cities around :) We were quite surprised how close for example Durham was - only 14 minutes by train!
@@JayandKarolina Is there a Durham video btw?
@@rain_down_ coming soon :)
Enjoyed hearing the sea gulls. They are actually Kittiwakes. A rare colony based around the Tyne bridge if you listen carefully their call is kitti wake.
The millennial bridge is super especially when it “blinks” shut to let larger boats past.
Newcastle is like lots of other North East places. A Hidden Gem. The countryside nearby is fantastic. Weardale, Teesdale and the coast are stunning.
One of the more comprehensive Newcastle videos I've watched, and good that you went inside the church and cathedral and appreciated the history. Good tour of the Grainger Market too. Hope you return one day. Nicely appropriate for Newcastle that the visit ends with an elaborate beer picking process ahead of pie and mash!
Thank you so much! We always wonder what to show because people might have different interests but for us personally the most important is to show the real history and culture 😍 We’ll be back in the future for sure because there’s still so many things to explore! And also it would be amazing to see all the spots that are currently under renovation too!
U have to come back there is so much more to see.we actually have a Moor in the city where freemen can graze their cattle .just one of the many more things to see. Also the Sunday Market on the quayside.good video.
Lovely comprehensive tour guys. Moved from the Midlands to Newcastle nearly 40 years ago and I love it and the North East people. Grainger Town has kept all it's facades but like the Lloyds building, many have been gutted and rebuilt behind.
With St James' Park being in the city centre, it sounds like an express train going through when Newcastle score. The fans are the most loyal in the country.
That's my eldest's class stood outside of the Cathedral in their leavers hoodies. They went for an assembly and then pizza to celebrate finishing Primary school.
Great video, i have lived in Newcastle all of my life ( 66 years ), and i'm ashamed to say that you have visited more buildings in Newcastle than i have . Hope you come back, you should book a tour of the fantastic Theatre Royal . Best wishes for the future.
The model yellow double decker is a NE icon, like red buses are to London. It was powered by overhead electricity lines, but as it has tyres & doesn't run on rails, it's a trolley bus, not a tram.
You just strolled past the Turbinia, that's powered by the world's first practical steam turbine, so it's hugely significant. Every power station and jet engine originates from it.
You sat in a yurt (or the frame of one) in the bar, a type of tent used by yak herders in Mongolia.
Excellent pronunciation of Newcastle, spot on.
Glad you think so! We've tried our best 😂
I wouldn’t say Newcastle is underrated, it often gets voted the best city to live, work, part etc. Probably a lot of ignorant southerners look upon it as grim, and are actually surprised when they visit…
I would say so! But once people visit Newcastle and see how nice the city is and how friendly the people are, they will be coming back frequently! We had heard before that it's a nice city but we didn't exactly expect that we would feel so great over there! :)
The building you point out at @5:34 near to the Castle is called Moot Hall and is the old law courts - I was a juror there in 2003-ish which is why I know - the newer law courts are on the Quayside, but they still use Moot Hall if the newer courts are at capacity.
This is so interesting! We always appreciate the council efforts when they try to preserve the institutional buildings because if they're still in use it's quite rare and yet beautiful! Thanks for sharing!
@@JayandKarolinaI’ve been to the Moot hall many times ( for work!) and it’s a beautiful building. There are court rooms with steps down to the river where people used to be taken to be transported to the colonies for their crimes!
The art centre is called the saga. Thanks for visiting Newcastle. I am so happy you enjoyed our beautiful city ❤
Great to know! Thanks for sharing! We enjoyed that day out in Newcastle very much 😍
Nice to see people enjoying my home city, moved away from there years ago but still visit from time to time
Where did you move to? :)
Very proud of my city. Whenever I leave I'm always delighted to be home. Very close to the coast and beautiful beaches too. Try Tynemouth next time you're in the area. Great video. Thank you.
Great vlog, glad you enjoyed Newcastle.
Pleasure to watch hope you enjoyed it so much more too see
Thank you!!! We had such a great time but it was definitely too short to explore all what the city and neighbouring areas have to offer! :)
Hi J&K I have visited Gateshead & Newcastle briefly now and again, but never had long to look around. Nottingham was my home city, I am a Bread & Lard Islander (west bridgford) by birth, but live in "Lufbra" (Loughborough) now. You had a chill time & I enjoyed your Vid!
I'm from Nottingham! I live in Long Eaton and I went to school in Loughborough! Thanks David :)
Thank you for highlighting Newcastle Upon Tyne, I was born and grew up here and it is a fantastic city. Dont live there now but really miss it. Worked in the ciy centre for years and enjoyed every minute of it, especially the nightlife!
Our pleasure! It's so nice to hear that people have great memories and feelings about Newcastle! We truly found this city to be one of our favourites in the UK so it's definitely not the last time we've visited it :)
Any recommendations for the pubs/bars?! We've been to Brinkburn pub and it was such a great experience ✨
@@JayandKarolina I lived there over 20 years ago and everything has changed so much since then, I think I would now need recommendations for which bars are the best x
@@SusanTurner-yo9lf you would not recognise it now , its like Afghanistan.
Thank you for introducing me to Newcastle as I never seen it in such capacity.
Our pleasure! We really enjoyed our time in Newcastle and didn’t expect it to be so old and modern in one! 😇
Thank you for watching ❤️
Nice, love the old period architecture in Newcastle. Also, am a fan of those arcade shopping alley and the Grainger market is lovely especially those old charming old stores. I am not a drinker but I do like the vibes and the deco at the pub. Very unique and the pies look yum.
Same here! We can resonate with all what you’ve just said - the old vibes and architecture of Newcastle just added a charm to the city 😍 And these pies were delicious! So glad we got recommended this place by the local!
Theres a few places you missed of, unless you did another video. Durham is also a nice city to
What are them places? Are you talking specifically about Newcastle or surrounding areas? :) We actually went to Durham and filmed there another video! Such a nice city too but yet so different 🏰
Excellent video thank you both so much
Glad you enjoyed it!
Think u did a great job showing off the toon thanks very much 👍
Glad you enjoyed it! We jam-packed that day with all we could possibly do but it was absolutely wonderful!
Glad you seemed to enjoy our city, Ive watched quite.a few videos of people visiting but yours was the best. At night is when Newcastle really comes alive with over 500 pubs in the city centre. The metro system although in parts is showing its age is fantastic you can get to the beach in about 20 minutes. Hope you enjoyed your stay 🙂
500 pubs?! That's insane 🤪 I understand now why people say it's a great city for a night out! We had no idea what with the metro you can actually go to the sea, it's quite convenient then!
Thank you so much for your kind words! We're always trying to make sure we film everything what is interesting, so glad our efforts are appreciated ❤️
@@JayandKarolina Yeah in about 20 minutes you can get off at Tynemouth which has a street with shops, Bars and restaurants. It also a chippy. It has a lovely cove called St Edwards Bay or you can walk along to Whitley Bays Long sands then into Cullercoats cove which also have Metro Stations. They rent out paddle boards or you could have a surfboard lesson. The water can be a bit cold though 😂
Great video. Newcastle is the best city in the UK. It really comes alive on an evening too. Also, regarding the metro system being dated, there's been hundreds of millions of pounds invested in a new fleet of state of the art trains which are arriving later this year. 😊
My hometown. I loved growing up there. Such a friendly city. I'm really glad you enjoyed it! Howay the lads!
We're so happy to hear that from a local! It's truly amazing how people love this city :)
It aint friendly now mate ..unless you speak Punjabi ...
Great informative video and 2 very likeable people👍
Glad you enjoyed it! THanks for watching :) We always like to share a bit of history about the places we're visiting and also to showcase what matters to the locals!
Really enjoyed your video 😀
Thank you so much! 😀
I'm a Geordie from Gateshead but can't beat nights out on the toon,
Good video 👍 both of you stay safe
🥳🥳 We've heard that Newcastle has the best nightlife scene! Would need to check it out properly one day! Thank you so much for watching!
Glad you came to "The Toon" but you missed so much. The Lit and Phil, The Hancock, The Laing and even a quick drink in The Centurion at Central Station would have given you even more of a buzz.
I'm a Brummie but have been here for over 30 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.
Bloody hell, you guys were taking chances getting off the Metro at Byker 😄
I'm not going to lie it looked a bit suss when we got off 😂
Newcastle is my hometown and I’m proud to say I live here 🖤🤍 great video 😊
So glad to hear that ❤️ I can easily say that it was one of our favourite UK cities! Thank you so much for watching :)
South of the river you stop and hold, everything.
It looks lovely as it always did. Like the Spanish city, when we were kids.
The catherderal In Newcastle is St James Park
The seagulls are actually kittiwakes, it’s the furthest in land they nest in Europe. The poop is a pain but the birds are protected.
Great to know! We actually didn't mind the birds because it's a true sign you're close to the coast but the poop is disgusting 😂 And knowing that you need to be careful all the time around them would be slightly annoying haha
@@JayandKarolina yeah it’s a mad dash walking under the Tyne bridge during nesting season 😂. Glad you got to see our amazing city! 😎 ⚫️⚪️
Thankyou for visiting....we love people visiting....we are friendly here....there is so much more to see and I hope you get the chance to return.....
And you may notice my name IS ACTUALLY ....Geordie..👍
It must feel awesome to be a proud Geordie and have the same name! We truly enjoyed Newcastle and since it has become one of our favourite cities in the UK, we might stay there for a bit longer in the future 🤭
Hi Jay, congratulations on the video you made 😄
Hi Karolina you are always fantastic and nice as always 😘
Yay! Thank you!
If you did that in one day, I'm impressed. Aye the food in the Brinkburn is gorgeous. I used to deliver ingredients to them.
I am a Geordie lad, I hope you had a lovely time in Newcastle!!!
We truly had! And all the Geordies we came across were super friendly so we felt super welcomed too :)!
Glad you enjoyed mate , great place for cycle couriers too , if you ever want to bring your bike up here 👍🏻
Sounds good! We really enjoyed strolling around the city too 😊 Because of the bridges and different perspectives Newcastle is quite a unique place!
I live not far in co.Durham, my Aussie girlfriend loves Newcastle and so do I
No wonder! We actually went from Newcastle to Durham and loved both the cities :) So different but both super pleasant to stroll around and have some fun!
No vampires buried in St Andrews churchyard, but Gallowgate - the street that it stands on - is an abbreviation of Gallows Gate, where felons were hanged just outside the city wall, hence the area of unconsecrated ground in the churchyard.
Is that right? That's interesting. Makes sense
I am actually from Newcastle and I have never noticed the Vampire Bunny rabbit 😂
Really!
That's so funny 😂 But I get that one can miss it easily!
like sunderland, after the ship building was lost back in the day, there has been some great regenration spend on both quay sides, newcastle and sunderland,
The modernisation efforts are truly visible! It’s been so nice just strolling around and looking at the cityscape and bridges 😍
@@JayandKarolina Im from sunderland down the road, big newcastle football rivalry, as yu may know, the trouble with the northeast, we dont get the money or funding, compared to southern places, the north south devide, but you channel is not politics,
I love they way chhaya tried to say geordies lol, we have many different names for the areas, she might find funny, i will list a few
you know the geordies
sunderland are mackems, it said to come from ship building we make them then they take away, hence mackem
hartlepool are know as monkey hangers, this comes from when the ships went exploring and a monkey was brought back or found on board and they thought it was a spy, so they hung it
middlesboro are know as the smoggies, because of the steel industry, the furnesses,
Loved the video. Between Durham and Newcastle there is a place called Beamish, it's a living museum. I think you missed an opportunity there. Hopefully, you will be back, and experience it. New subscriber, lovely couple.
Thanks for the info! We've never heard of this place but it would be definitely a nice one to visit :)
Beautiful church and UK buildings are fascinating
I totally agree! Once you enter the churches it’s a completely different world! And the Northern England architecture is just TOP 😍
guys, sometimes, you will see stand alone buildings, over the centuries, things were built next to them closed down, then tore down, because empty, but there are buildings that are listed, either grade 1 or grade 2 and cant be touched so to speak, they are protected. to protect the history
Thank you for sharing! We really like exploring the cities by also learning about their past history 🙏
Newcastle is the best city in the world, my home. It's mint, don't visit! Don't spoil it!
It really is a great city! We hope that all the visitors coming after watching this video will only add to the charm of the city :)
2:12 "I think I can even spot the cathedral from here". Me looking to see if you can see St. James Park from there. :D
This is so true 😂😂😂
That building you can see being built around 11 minutes in at the bottom of the street with the Warhammer shop is going to be the new HMRC (and maybe other civil serviants) building that should be done in 2027.
Also great I see Slice showing up in the vid, I remember when it first opened years ago and now can barely get a bit!
.im from the toon aka Newcastle and it's such an underrated place man. We are funny, friendly and radge haha nowhere in the world like it and everybody loves. A geordie, a don't care what anyone says it doesn't matter where ya go in the world everybody lives a geordie. 5.21 made me smile that's the bridge hotel and that's where I met a beautiful lass in 2011 she's now my wife and the mother of my child and we are still going strong. Thanks for this video and welcome to the toon wor kid
If you want to see a stunning Cathedral and equally amazing city pop down the road to Durham, im born and bred Newcastle but Durham is stunning
This was exactly our idea :) We went after Newcastle straight to Durham, so hope you'll enjoy the next video ❤️ Durham Cathedral was one of the MOST STUNNING cathedrals we've ever seen!
"When you think of must vist uk cities, Newcastle doesn't come to mind" is a shambles to say
I agree with you haha. I was just making a point that people often choose London, Edinburgh, Bath, Cambridge etc over Newcastle!
The building near to the castle, that you said you didn’t know, is the Moot Hall which is an old court building. I believe it’s still used as a court.
That's interesting! Thank you so much for sharing!
Newcastle is massive when you take in the surrounding area, people who live far from the city centre will just say "I'm from Newcastle", despite living over 10 miles away. Anywhere West of Newcastle is just beautiful nature and countryside, which is for many the best part about living here; with the Lake District right on our doorstep.
It's really huge! And that's another advantage point because you get to see/do a lot of interesting stuff :) We really liked our trip to the north so possibly will pay another visit later this summer!
Any suggestions what cities/towns would be great to film? or what would you like to see? Any advice much appreciated ❤️
You mentioned the new building construction when you were near the Theatre Royal. That is to house thousands of civil servants and is funded by the Reuben brothers, part owners of Newcastle United
Oh, I loved that building :) Interesting! Thanks for sharing!
What an excellent video so well put together and you’ve visited places in Newcastle I’ve never been to and I’m almost 66!
Having said that I do live in Northumberland and the beauty of Newcastle as a City it will take you around 15-20 mins and your at the coast and if your travelling North in around 30-45mins you can be in the countryside with some spectacular scenery so maybe the next time you visit hire a car and travel up the A1 along the coastline and maybe visit Morpeth, Alnwick,Craster, seahouses & Bamburgh (castle) just a thought and a change of scenery. 👍
Up the Toon Army 🖤🤍🖤🤍 and your Girlfriend/ Partner when she says Geordies is very cute you make a lovely couple.
So stay healthy and I wish you nothing but happiness and success. 👍🖤🤍🖤🤍
Awesome! We're glad that you found it interesting to watch because this day was super enjoyable for us too 😍 We would definitely need to come back to the North so thank you for all the recommendations!
@@JayandKarolina you’re both very welcome. Take care of each other 👍🖤🤍🖤🤍
The Castle and city walls were nearly completely in tact until the railways came and they were torn down 😮
❤ from Northeast England ❤️
Was is because the insufficient funding? 🤔
@JayandKarolina
Aye, the Tories were in power of 😂
No, it was to allow the railways. They were massive back when Newcastle was an industrial area
It's a cool place and also good nightlife
Great video
Thank you for watching!
YOU found a hidden gem? Are you sure? It’s been nominated the best night life spot in the U.K. for years
Excellent
Did you know the geordie accent is the closest to old english .❤
That's so interesting! Thanks for sharing :)
Very true. A lot of Norse influence.
I heard a lot of the accent came from Frisian , and old German dialect. . "Am gan yerm" = translation = "I'm going home" ..."Broon Coo" = translation "Brown Cow" ...etc..etc... say that to a Geordie, and they will understand you. (but you don't really want to tell them you are going home with a brown cow ...be careful)
Got that wrong , the Welsh were the original English.😊
You should come into Newcastle castle it is now in two parts and is very interesting come and pay it a visit
