thank you for sharing this great musical moment, and what a joy to see here a musicen who unfortunately has not played often enough with oscar, the wonderful kenny clark on drums. !
Oscar laid down such power and flow that many were inspired by such freedom. Johnny Costa who played the piano on the mister Rogers show had some of this great jazz flexibility that flooded my ears for years. Great blessings and love to all the younger people who are able to enjoy this dynamic flow of musical prowess. 🎶🔥
Sencillamente, ... para un aspirante a músico ( Violinista ) ... escuchar a este par de " monstruos musicales " es casi un placer al oído y sobre todo lleva mucha alegría y swing ... a nuestro corazón y a nuestro espíritu ....
I loved watching him on his Tv show in the seventies when he would have a guest artist, I’m sure Stevie was on once. My eldest Son, who is a brilliant jazz pianist (I’m bound to say that I know) has named his first child Oscar. At my Son’s 18th Birthday party (quite a few years ago) his friend and my other Son DJ’d for the evening. I just placed two vinyls on the decks and sat down as they played, one was a recording of Rudyard Kipling’s ‘If’ and the other that complimented the poem perfectly was an instrumental dub version of ‘Autumn Leaves’ by Cold Cut. Listening to this has just connected these things together in a beautiful way. P E A C E : )
Heard Oscar live in London in 1984 at the Barbican. I heard Stephane Grappelli at the 100 Club in Oxford Street, he'd have been about 80 then but was in great form. Two giants of jazz for sure. Oscar Peterson's rendition of Body and Soul at the beginning is so like Art Tatum in style, Tatum had a huge influence on Peterson.
The video being flipped is inspired! It is a total reveal of the Left Handed orientation of the modern piano! Any guitarist can look at this and see the right hand strumming and the left hand dancing on the keys! The piano is revenge for all the Leftys that were forced to learn to write right handed, and really shows why so few can sing and play! Note, nearly all of the greatest pianists were Left Handed: Bach, Tatum, Beethoven, Rachmaninoff, Evans, Mozart(ambidextrious), Geiseking. Did I leave anyone out? Oh yeah, Costa, Liberachi, and Oh Yeah, O. P!
What a pity! Watching and listening to the best when the money hungry operator cuts it in mid delight to throw out a tooth paste ad for the eighty seventh time to have one keep the swear words not too loud or disturb them sleeping pals calling for peace. What do we want? Enjoyment or swearing sleepless intervals?
So beautiful to see him play so strong so sure .....oh my!
There's so much joy in this beautiful collaboration.
I absolutely adore this collab!!
What a group!
A true gem indeed, this deserves way more views!

Great to see “The Falling Leaves” performed by these two giants together.

About how many people watched Oscar peterson's concert what you also saw?
Kenny Clarke with Oscar Peterson? I love TH-cam 😍 And YOU... World of Jazz 😘
Songs: Body and Soul by Oscar Peterson Trio, then with Stéphane Grappelli: Walking My Baby Back Home and Autumn Leaves.
Very annoying that the video is flipped in the first tune.
But anyway the music food for the soul.
Yeah that threw my perspective all out of whack
In fact, it’s not originally flipped. The camera was aimed at the mirror above 😊
Espetáculo!

Was Chopin a lefty?
How do you know OP was a lefty? I’ve been searching for evidence of this
Jazz piano topper
Monster piano
Nils Hennning ist mein größtes Vorbild am Bass. Sowas von fantastisch . Natürlich die anderen auch, aber ich spiele weder Geige, noch Klavier…………
Dazzling
He was in Netherlands 😱
Jazz. Ummmm siempre es nuevo aunque no lo sea. Creo siempre en innovar. Porque es frescura para el alma. Sss
Se puede perder unos minutos en disfrutar
What’s the name of the first song?
