Hmmm that's pretty false you can't excel to be the best basketball player without being tall, you can't be a chess genius at 12 without being bless with high iq, you can't win the Olympic swimming competition 1st place without being bless with long arms for better swimming techniques. I'm not saying that hard work won't get you good at these but talent does exist and someone could do 2x better than you with half the effort solely because they were blessed with such qualities. Like it or not that's life. Hard work is important but a 5'1 individual will never beat lebron james, an average iq person will never beat Magnus Carlson, etc.

I rather think she thinks she's smart but if I would have to estimate then she would range between the 70th and 80th percentile Given the fact that she had *to learn* that she isn't as smart as she thought she is leads to the conclusion that there was some kind of Dunning-Kruger effect involved which is incredibly common for -midwits- people I've seen that with several people that got to know in high school and later studied with them at Uni. All of the people who really thought they were smart (or the smartest) struggled incredibly while the other who didn't bother too much or truely understood their advanced abilities did very well Just as a side note: not all who have brains are humble about it but most certainly the majority of them or are pretty accurate in their self-assessement

Me watching this literally in the verge of crying sitting in front of my friends who are more smarter than me and planning to study over night before the exams and score marks but im here freaking out and stressed for literally ntng and i just realized maybe one day i can bcz my brother was also like me (he was literally like me in my age but now he finished his degree in software engineering with a 1st class degree) since i have more talents than others in some stuff and im trying to motivate myself by that (not in a toxic way tho..) i won't give up tho... nd will do my best and i have no competition w/others anyways

This is so true Amy. let me tell you my story: Coming from asia and living in europe, my client thought that I couldn't speak the local language as all my colleagues of same ethnicity couldn't. The client already decided that we might not be the good fit considering the local culture. I immediately barged in saying why dont you try me. for the next five minutes, the awkward me was speaking in business level language and guess what: we got the contract. I was made the lead for the project.Always good to downplay talents. It helps 😁

i think a big part of your success is also the fact that you get a sufficient amount of sleep nightly. i struggle with adhd and low iron so i get distracted easily (leading to procrastination and terrible time management) and also get tired easily. i used to be a student athlete (top 3 in class, did track, taekwondo, netball, etc.) and had the most unhealthy lifestyle ever (ate junk food, destroyed my body, neglected my personal hygiene, avoided homework and lost sleep). now ive transferred schools, and my grades dropped from #2 to the last place :( i also dropped all my sport events but i feel so much happier and lighter now. to try to implement your advice into my routine requires energy so i just wanted to say that the first step anyone should do is to get enough sleep so your body can run on a sufficient amount of energy.

I try to think of "think and reflect" as "trial, error, reflect", we are gonna get it wrong many times, but we can make adjustments and improve
