Prius II and Prius III - they're looking so much alike - but Toyota called them really the second and third generation although the XW30 from 2009 is looking more like a facelift of the XW20 from 2003. The first generation of the Prius was looking a bit too odd to me with its short rear end. This fastback variation of the 2nd and 3rd generation is for sure much more appealing. I am still seeing some of the 2nd and 3rd generation driving around. Here and there a fourth generation. But yet I haven't seen the fifth generation which is actually out since early last year. So when seeing the 3rd generation it feels like it isn't this old.
Very similar design indeed with these two Prius generations, but also Honda Insight had similar shape too. 1st gen Prius wasn't available at least here in Finland, so the Prius II was first hybrid we saw here. Not so common sight anymore as they used to be, maybe those expensive batteries are failing and with that, added with labour, they're doomed to be crushed.
