- In this video we get started on re commissioning the Peugeot 306 GTI free car.
Working at our fully equipped workshop in Kent we carry out tasks including Panel beating, Body work, Mig Welding, Sheet metal Spot Welding, Fabrication, Chassis Repairs, Sand Blasting, Engine and Mechanical repairs, Reconditioning, Restoration and Structural repairs on the Celette Jig Dozer frame machine.

We do receive quite a few questions regarding tools and equipment that we use for various jobs. Unfortunately there is too many to list but some of the brands we use include Snap-on, Blue-point, Makita, Sealey, Clark, Esab and Sykes-Pickavant.

15 years ago these 306s were everywhere. Lovely cars, always thought they were the best shape puegeot at the time. Cant wait to see how this project goes! 👍
Bib drives a 106 diesel, and rest assured, even after he gets a newer car etc he won't be getting rid of his trusty 106 diesel.

I agree. Today it can be seen that design era of models 106, 306, 406 are much more beautiful than models 207, 307, 407 and ..8
Good era for Peugeot design in my mind. I have a 406 Estate which uses the same styling.
90's Peugeot GTI's were cult heroes. I'm not surprised you've got so much attention! They're beautiful cars with outstanding unmatched performance in their class at the time. I had 306 Rallye, I'd give anything to have it back.
as a prievious owner of a gti6 they are fantastic motors the young ones of today always under estimate them! same as my old megane coupe and rover BRM
Don't know about back then but i currently own a 306 Xr and still drives fantastic given it's age luckily it's in good condition but i don't see much of them anymore

I think it's a wonderful thing that you do. So many of the cars I grew up seeing are rare sights now as most are just left to be scrapped.
Pre internet days meant that my mum's MK1 fiat Uno had to be scrapped due to a failed starter motor and no scrap yards having one!
Just glad there are people saving old cars!

Beautiful car i have a 99 306 estate and still going strong these cars and engines were the best Peugeot ever rolled out please save it, it deserves it. Much love all the way from Nicaragua.

Loved my 306, cracking little car. This has to be restored, far to original not to be. Make sure it goes to a good home.
I had a 306 GTI-6 from November 1999 until I sold it in 2006. Mine was black and I absolutely loved it! Please guys restore the car. Feel very sentimental looking at this fantastic machine 😊
Had a 306 as my first car over 20yrs ago. Was only a 1.4 due to insurance. Engine was useless but the handling was sublime. Can't believe you picked this up for free. Great to see it being restored

I had a Nile Blue R reg 306 GTI 6 from new for a couple of years, one of the best cars I have ever owned, so enjoying seeing this brought back from the brink.
Fabulous, not a Peugeot fan, but we had a couple of 306s, X & Y reg pool cars where I worked, they were very well liked, even I enjoyed driving them, glad to see this being saved!
Rob that car is going to start straight away once you get that key those cars are bulletproof and I bet if you buff that car it’ll come up a treat can’t wait
When I was starting out the 306 was a great selling car people loved them .We used to sell loads of them .
Ahh the memories.. happy days.. used to have a 306 GTi-6 show car myself. Did the UK circuit for a few years with the Peugeot Sport Club. Even did the 205 Anniversary run down to Mulhouse.. happy times

Absolutely loved this video! Sad story obviously for the owner, but it's almost like he's looking down on a fabulous handling car. 306 was the car that finally emulated the handling of an Alfasud 20 years later. I've got a Sud and I love it!!!
Looks a solid motor, love the fact you are willing to give it a chance, got to keep these old hidden gems alive if we can, I could never make a living out of what you boys do, my heart always rules my head, much kudos 👍

Mate I used to work with had a GTI, sadly he passed away too young but he loved his car, so it’s this is special one to me.

My Bro Bought A Phase 2 And A Phase 3 both in a week and that was his child hood fav car but we had to let one go so abt 2 weeks later we sold the phase 2 but we have a black phase 3 and Its got 52k Mileage but sat for a few years like this but not as long and we are now gonna restore it
VTX ROO I loved them, had so many, started with a moonstone HDI, loads of 1.8 XS, 2.0 XSI’s, I only had one GTI 6. Would love a mint Astor GTI 6 but they are so rare these days. Even the owners club forum is so quiet
VTX ROO I didnt even know there was a ph3, I knew them as pre and post face lift, I like the earlier ones but just like when I bought my first saxo, clean ph1’s are hard to come by in comparison.

Give the underneath a good inspection before you decide on this one Rob. Could be a lot more work than it is worth.

The good thing with this Rob is that thing like doors, latches, windows etc are all shared with all the models of 306s so you should be right for parts. Looking forward to see how you guys go with it. Love the channel by the way. Watching from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia!
Respect to you. I drive a Peugeot 106 diesel and my intention is to keep it even once I replace it. As another person commenting on here points out, one day the cars are everywhere, the next you rarely see one.
There’s just something about this car that really makes me smile and want to save it you can see it’s literally wanting to get back on the road with the wind blowing through it’s wing mirrors 😁 glad you guys will help give it a new lease of life the car does need a name though all good cars do x

My brother bought one of these when they were brand new and on the same R reg in racing green I remember he picked me up from school on the day the R reg came out and all the kids were looking thinking WOW! I remember the smell to this day and can't beat a new car smell, it was like sh1t of a stick when dedle put to the metal... Cheers Rob/Chris great memories being brought back!
This is what I enjoy, I'm no Peugeot fan by any means but it's horrible to see cars with potential like this going needlessly to scrap through neglect.

Really happy to see you are fixing up the little 306. Fingers crossed electrics are ok, they can suffer when left idle. Would look so much better if you could source an original set of 15inch alloys.
