Gen 9 was the first and hopefully the last generation of pokemon that actually made me disappointed and unwanting to look at all the new things added. The pokemon designs looked dull and boring, the game seemed unappealing and a step back from what sword and shield looked like. I also hate how all the pokemon and characters look like they are made out of clay
Anime graphics are the best in attractive visuals and designs, and allow memory space for content. Photorealism is stupid that it makes no sense in fantasy.
I personally hate the realistic direction gen9 has gone, its getting into detective pikachu territory, i like it being cartoony yet semi 3d like g7 and 8
When PLA came out everyone hated the graphics and now its the same for SV, fanbase never changes. SV is full of glitches but is clearly way better than PLA with its graphics, both games are pretty empty.
the only way the graphics are going to get better are if the hardware gets better, meaning we won't be seeing anything with good graphics in an open world setting unless we get new hardware
In my opinion, pokemon need to make the leap and focus on graphics, no hand holding and frame rates. The reason for graphics is because they are lacking these daysyoy can see no effort goes into anything anymore, they just dont care because they still make millions of dollars even though the switch is fully able to harness incredible graphics. The stories dont feel so serious anymore, its lackluster. Hand holding is insane, they act like people cant comprehend basic gameplay these days. Pokemon red and green was a time where people had never touched a pokrmon game and yet they didnt hold your hand.
Story is shit in the past gens. There's so many good stories can be written in there world because the world is already so big and there's so much lore now. But I guess they have to remain the stories child friendly and not go with darker themes.
@@Reymax164 it’s not even that they need darker themes. you can have a great story be child friendly, fun and whimsical. gamefreak just refuses to do ANYTHING that isn’t to do with the evil team and hun leaders. there’s little to no unique story at all. they just need to hire good writers.
it really needs a facelift though, scarlet and violet still look too much like the 3ds games. when indie games look BETTER its upsetting. it doesn't matter if its 2d or 3d, either way pokemon graphics are ridiculous, particularly when the actual gameplay is also lacking.
Bro the graphics are so shit, I would get old and die but pokemon would use the same textures and fps every single game. Looking at old games like rdr2 and the AC series, these look like they're made by a kid. Even if the switch can't handle that much, it definitely have some stunning games far better than recent pokemon games. They can even release a new console
@@Jayden-of1wcthere are moderate graphical improvements to be made but we aren't getting spiderverse level improvement here, upgrading a single pokemon is like a "skin" in something like Overwatch... You remember when Overwatch had over 1k characters? You remember when they had just 150? There isn't a reality where pokemon reaches modern graphics in less than 2 generations of console, definitely not in 3d because pokemon graphical improvements are done ass backwards and have to be done that way, mimicking art style of the new game but centered around the existing pokemon models, they cannot exceed parity between 1 vs the other too much and the models need to be usable at least twice to be worth it.
@@Hades112012 Where did I say the games looked good? It’s a fact that SV has the most advanced lighting, shading, particles, and textures than any game they’ve done before. That is demonstrably true.
Textures of the Pokémon in scarlet and violet (like the metal Pokémon being reflective etc): 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Graphics of everything else: 💩

The day Pokemon looks like that thumbnail I will stop playing Pokemon

NOW: "video game"
SOON: "AI generated slop"
Personally I just want the characters to look ‘cool’ again Pokémon definitely loosing its edge
The differences between Pokemon & Pokemon Teamworks
Wasn't Scarlet and Violet f-ed up because it had no breaks, like scene shifting?
B/W and HG/SS sprite art was perfect. 3D games haven't reached that level of perfect. Oddly I think X/Y has the most charm since coming to 3D
I support 2D anime character sprites on top of 3D backgrounds.
I'm playing Pokemon not for graphics I'm playing for story
there literally isn’t any unique story in any pokémon game.

you used ai in the thumbnail
Thumbnail will never happen… *_and you all know it_*
Bro stop showing old Video clips everybody shows the same clips in every video go get some new ones
Game freak is just lazy, indie devs are using better graphics
Why are you lying looks good theFrame problem is not even there emoji trailers the game looks good it was only one trade I looked bad
Graphics are not gonna change. Stop defending game freak people, they dont care. You guys will still buy their games
The graphics don’t matter but hi hate the pixels the black pixels
I mainly don't care about graphics in pokemon but having a little better graphics would make it slightly better. But that's just my opinion

S/V have good graphics. The glitches were made up.
😂😂 this is a whole new level of gaslight
NO ONE CARES ABOUT GRAPHICS!
LMAO you watched a video about Pokemon graphics to complain
LOL why watch the video and don’t hate on the channel and before you said it’s bad maybe you have the bad taste
Why watch the video
A lot of people do care about the graphics. Your reality is not the general reality of everyone else lol

Regardless of performance and art style, Game Freak has been improving their graphical detail and abilities each game.
This is absolutely false for Scarlet and Violet. Except for the textured (and that too, only the metallic ones), the games look like shit.
