Emily, like many of us who grew up in the 1970s, I loved John Denver! Your version of Country Road is the best I've heard since JD, and that tickles my heart. You are a special vocalist, Emily, one who is able to capture the essence of a song. This is your God-given gift. Never forget that!
I went to Calgary Stampede last summer, and of course this was one of the tunes they played there, and I've had it stuck in my head ever since. Another demonstration of how good lyrics, simple chords, and simple melodies can all come together to make a great song.
I know this song since I was 16. Now I am 66. Your performance of this wonderful song of John Denver sounds so great!!! You are a wonderful artist. Go on singing!!!!
I remember John Denver like it was yesterday. When my kids were young and we were going on long drives, we would all burst into song, our favourite was ‘Grandma’s feather bed’. Other nearby drivers must have thought us a cookie lot, singing at the tops of our voices. Loved those years.
I grew up playing this song and singing it while living in Maryland. Now West Virginia is my home and this song is the mantra , the soul and the spirit of this great state! The tagline take me home country roads is on everything, license plates, tee shirts , tourism advertising, etc. John Denver made us proud with this great song and Emily did it justice! Thanks so much for taking me home once again!
My husband and I were great fans of JD. We spent many hours listening to his music, seeing him in concert, teaching our young daughter his songs, and playing Aspenglow while celebrating Christmas. In fact, our daughter loved, loved his album with the Muppets...and she still plays them every time we are in the car. 😅❤😅
Emily Linge, That was a Beautiful Song and Country Cover Guitar Performance of Take Me Home, Country Roads. Also, You look Beautiful in the Black Skirt you were wearing. Also, You are an awesome Singer. Also, Thank you for performing the Song and Country Cover Guitar Performance of Take Me Home, Country Roads.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐
Your rendition of 'Take Me Home, Country Roads' was so powerful-it gave me a newfound appreciation for the song. Your talent is remarkable, especially at just 16 years old. Keep shining and sharing your incredible gift with the world!
My wife and I saw John Denver live back when we were in high school. Thank you for bringing back that wonderful memory Emily, beautiful singing and playing!!
I live in the Finnish countryside, empty houses ,old pepople, summer cottages around the lake...this time of the year is the best season ...days getting longer ,snow is melting ...this song good to listen after working day ...when dark is coming ...and sun is going down...well done ,you Emily honoroed Denvers way of playing this song.
Emily, I was a kid during the '70s, so songs like John Denver's were part of my earliest and happiest "language." And the words of those '70s songwriters were always so beautiful. Thank you wholesouledly for this gem from my youngest days!
John’s music will live forever as long as young people continue to cover his songs !! You did a really good job playing and singing this classic tune your voice was really good !! Every time I hear this song I remember my grand dad this was his favorite song he passed away in 1977 I wore this song on record player out on vinyl I had it on 45 !! Rest in Peace John and my Grandpa !!
You Emily are incredibly great. Yes us old guys from back in the 70s when John Denver was around thought he was really good but with your voice and awesome presence you sincerely take the cake. And i back in the 50s spent a lot of time riding my horse down country roads.
Those country roads take me home back to a time when I was 15, I had a GF who was a really good singer and she would sing this song. That was a long long time ago. ✌️ ❤️ 🇺🇸
Nicely done young lady. A no-nonsense rendition. I met JD a couple months before his plane crash. Couldn't listen to his music for months. Saw him half a dozen times in concert. Fond memories.
Emily, that was fantastic 🥰 I am 68 and I used to play guitar and sing in folk clubs in the 70s. John Denver’s music was a big part of my repertoire. This performance brought back many great memories, thank you ❤️
You, Emily, John Denver, Colorado and the beauty of Norway are Heaven-just different rooms in Heaven. I have seen all of them except you in concert. Please keep us up to date on your concert schedule in Dubai. Every time you sing is a heavenly experience. Thanks so much for Country Roads.❤🎉
Me too. I met him when I was a volunteer at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. He was also a great golfer as well as a great singer. But I never forget when I heard the news that his experimental plane he was piloting crashed into Monterey Bay, killing him at the age of 53 on October 12, 1997. RIP John Denver.
The song is an invitation to find comfort and peace in our roots and nature, and continues to be a symbol of hope and welcome for those seeking their own 'country road' to take home. Emily Linge was perfect in her interpretation of this song! Emily, princess of music!💖💖💖💖💖💖
