Great video! While Perth isn't a small town, the basketball community there in the 80's definitely was not big at all. So to see someone out of there make it to the top was amazing. Prior to Luc the NBA wasn't even a pipe dream for Australian players. Also to whoever found the archival footage for this did an amaziing job...at about the 2:26 mark there is a brief sequence of Luc playing for the Burswood Redbacks v the Stirling Senators in what I believe was the 1990 Western Australian State League Basketball Grand Final....have no idea how you guys dug that up. :-)

Good video but a minor error was mentioned. The host said that Longley's career high in games was 72 in 2000. That was actually his second most games he ever played in a season. He played 76 games in 1994 but that was between both the Suns and the Bulls.
Love this channel! I was surprised Longley wasn’t interviewed for the Last Dance. I was more familiar with the second 3 peat of the bulls as i was much younger during the first one. And longley is definitely a player recognizable to that roster.
Its little bit like Metallica with the worsening Lars Ulrich. Ulrich was asked once by the media whether he was still a good drummer to Metallica (his drumming deteriorated since years). He answered that his drumming perfectly fits to James Hetfields guitar. So Longley's play was an important part of the Bulls puzzle. He had to perform at a certain level to get that team going. Of course he could not score 30. That was Jordans and Pippens task. Of course he would not score 20, that was Harpers, Kukocs, sometimes Kerrs task. He was a role player and did his job perfectly.

Loved going to the pit to watch games. I was going to school there when Kenny Thomas, Clayton Shields, Marlo White, Royce Olney, Schornstein and Charles Smith were on the team. Fun team to watch.
Arizona game was loudest I ever heard the Pit when Lobos beat em with Sean Elliot and they were #1.
I remember watching them at the Pit while my dad was stationed at Kirkland AFB. I actually got to meet the team in 88. The base always had a Labor Day party (who can forget armadillo races?) and the Lobo basketball team was there. I just stared up at Luc in awe. He was indeed a gentle giant.
Dude was a rock for 4 seasons.
Always felt bad for Luc whenever I watched Bulls games. Every timeout you could hear Phil Jackson yelling at him. I don't think any Bulls player faced Jackson's wrath more than him. But he came through when he needed to. Nothing but respect for the "Thunder from Down Under".
Great video! One of the best NBA channels on TH-cam!
Luc Longley played for us here at UNM. Heck ya! Nice to see someone represent New Mexico
Jeremy Davis Mate and Hugh Greenwood making his Mark
I’m the AFL with the Adelaide Crows previously and now with
The Gold Coast Suns.
@@andrewthomas8737 thanks man I just checked him out. Thats so cool man. Played guard for us with numerous impressive stats and achievements throughout his 4 years at UNM. 👍👍
@@wilee.coyote5298 sweet bit of history man
I've always counted my blessings for being a guy that never got injured.
Great well researched original content, engaging narration on a daily basis. Mad respect bro.
One of my fav players during his time with the bulls. Solid player
Luc Longley is a legend. He should have been in the docco. Wish Luc all the success in life
Dude, he was a Pretty Well Rounded Solid Center, his teammates were Jordan, Pippen, Rodman, Ron Harper, Kukoc, Kerr, Wennington, Simpkins, Brown etc. He was a good shooter and couldn't be greedy to score because his teammates well are doing that.
Nice video man. I recommend you to make videos about the important players in bulls championships
Great video dude!
The Perth Wildcats also hold a world record for consecutive playoffs appearances, in any professional sport. 34 and counting.
PERTH!! REPRESENT!!!
he used to play with wildcats too.
His house in Perth burnt down and he lost so much of his priceless memorabilia from his days with the Bulls. I'm from Perth (not a smallish town haha) and remember seeing that on the news, so sad.
Perfect video. Great content
Great video!! I’m from Perth and have followed Luc’s entire career. That being said, you still managed to find some interesting info I wasn’t aware of. Thanks for a brilliant vid.
Check out his interview on the Howie Games where most the content has come from.

Hardest working man on TH-cam!!! Thank you Casey!!!
Didn’t they go to Toni kukoc? So they had the budget to only go to one place?
He played his role and played it well, an Aussie legend, nuff said.
Hi from Germany, as someone who follows the NBA since the late 80s I really LOVE your stories and research, thanks so much for all that work!
Hallo, danke fürs Zuschauen!
@@AMHoops Jederzeit, alles Gute! 👾🤗
Great job,like always.greetings from Netherlands 🏀
@9:32 I'm sorry, I'm Australian and everyone who's into basketball, especially up and coming pro's know he's a 3-time champ! Perth is not a town, it's a city. Otherwise pretty good video.
Proud to say before he was on the Bulls he was a Lobo. We loved him in New Mexico. One of the best players to play at the Pit.
yao ming in the 90”s... are you kidding
He said 90s and early 2000s.
Might wanna clean out your listening holes.
Been watching your stuff for months now and am just now realizing you only have 40k subscribers?? Wack. Keep up the good work my guy you’re gonna blow up soon
Thanks so much Shawn. That means a lot ✌🏼
Great video. Very underrated
Underrated... forgotten... legend!
Well balanced video and really well researched. Thanks.
Longley was a solid player for the 90s bulls 🙎🏿♂️
He deserves to be the Basketball Hall of Fame
Defenitely respect for that guy
When he makes those corner shots in the finals. No team can beat them
Good video but a minor error was mentioned.
