A trigger that has movement after the wall--like the TSO--isn't "crisp," it's creepy, like every other TSO I've seen, including mine. A01-LD is indeed heavier (I've got one of those too), but no creep.
How does the grip angle compare? Is the width of the grip the same between the 2? I prefer shooting in production with my Shadow 2, but love the grip angle/thickness of my TSO. I have large hands.
InkwellFoto grip angle is very similar with the tso. It’s a little fuller in the middle compared to the tso which I prefer. I also recently changed my grips on the A01LD to a palm swell and it feels my hand better. For reference I hand medium size hands.
Nice review! The TSO has a nice trigger for sure, but the A01LD is insane. Thanks for the shout out! You know, the only thing I don’t like about the A01LD is that they used a ring hammer instead of the race hammer. Don’t you find the flat top of the TSO.way nicer....or not difference? Looking forward to seeing the video update post spring change. You’ll need to put the 11.5# back in for Qualifiers though, club matches you’ll probably get away with it, lol. Enjoy!
I own both, IMO the A01LD is better. It has a heavier barrel, its more balanced less recoil and the trigger is awesome. For me its weird to try to compare the triggers because the TSO is single action only and the A01LD is SA/DA. That said when the A)1LD it goes into SA its extremely close to the TSO. The TSO trigger for me is almost too light. A few things I don't like about the TSO is the plastic trigger, the plastic bushing for the guild rod and the fact that the jet funnel is not blended to the gun. Fast reloading can cause the mag to get caught on the exposed lip. Now perhaps they did all that to keep the price down but IMO at this level these issues need to be addressed.
Nice comparison, thank you. I'm a CZ fanboy. Trying to decide on my next one. It's gonna be full sized and have an optic, probably an SRO but that's as far as I've gotten. Choices are an OR A01-LD, TSO with a frame mounted optics mount or an OR Shadow 2. How're you getting along with your full sized CZs? Still prefer the A01? I figure I can't go wrong with any of them 😉 I already have a well broken in SP01 decocker with the full CGW treatment, crazy wonderful trigger and an SRO so it feels like a Shadow 2 might not be that much of an upgrade. As for the A01 vs TSO it's a harder choice. I do like SA/DA guns and think I'd prefer the A01 for that. I also think I'd prefer a slide vs frame mounted optic just for the ease of finding holsters, etc. but I'm not sure and have no way of trying out a frame mounted optic (I live in a smallish Alaskan town with limited retail opportunities and only one other CZ fanatic I know of). I think I'd appreciate the weight of the A01 as well. Downside is the slightly eye watering price. Upside to the TSO is price and the availability of internal bit and pieces to try via CGW (not sure how stock the internals are in the A01 and I enjoy messing with the internals of my CZs). So, decisions, decisions. I've got a while tho. My P01 steel frame should arrive next week so I've gotta replenish my CZ spending account. 😉

Have both - find myself reaching for TSO more often, better trigger IMO - although the A01 is very nice to hold in hand.
I just got a used Czechmate this past weekend! Now I have the trifecta, a Shadow 2, a TS2, and a Czechmate. Once I went Czech, I never went back.

That A01 has more pretravel and creep than my custom Tanfo S1 Xtreme. I love my TSO too.
