- It is not just enough to stand out with talent, a lot of times the creativity in which you present music, visuals or projects as a whole inevitably makes or breaks you. Our guest Santigold has maneuvered in a way that has grown her sound and independence over the years, creating a unique brand through trials.
Trials rarely serve as only a means to hurt us but help us and while many may think her gift of a child would slow up her process, it actually made her more focused while bringing a different level of joy into her life. That is one of the things that largely contributes to an intense drive and determination within her spirit to create more music. One important takeaway during the conversation with Santigold is just how much living/creating with purpose helps you overcome when faced with incredible opposition. A lot of people talk about that "it" factor, she displays it wonderfully from start to finish.

Santogold is a early 2000's artist who is still relevant.ppl may not know who she is but she got sound and she doesn't sound like anyone out here right now.
I think "L.E.S. Artistes" has got to be one of the coolest, most intelligent, ear-candy singles of the 21st Century. The lyrics are so brilliant, they might make Bob Dylan blush with low self-esteem!
Santi is just impressive in and out. She's rocketed up my list of favorite artists. Super intelligent. Very eloquent. Very philosophically adept. Very uplifting, polite and positive.
I met Santigold in Philly, she is really a sweet person. Very talented & Very pretty as well.

D4N OctEmber Dunno about underrated. I mean the video for it has 16 million views. If anything I feel her earlier songs are still the most underrated. I started listening to her when she was still doing like mall performances. She has some songs on here that don't have nearly that much, not even close. I think it's just hard for people to place her. She has her own unique following that grew, she wasn't all that popular initially until around the era that song came out I think. I feel kinda weird about it all. Like sometimes I think I wouldn't want her to get too big. She already has a well respected spot and following. Loved her for years.
her older music showed up on my pandora and i was like "who is diss mutha trucker slippin on my mutha poppin playlist".
It crazy how her and M.I.A. came out around the same time and both are around the same age and make music that sounds like nothing else out there. But then M.I.A. blew up and she kind of stayed sort of underground. Her and M.I.A. were prolly the first artists I found back on the internet in the mid 2000s.
Usually how it goes. One sound only one can be in the forefront.... That paper planes, people in the industry liked it so it was pushed a little more
M.I.A. is a little bit more known, but they both have about 1 or 2 million listeners monthly in Spotify.

It's funny how I first heard Paper Planes in middle school when the movie Pineapple Express came out, and when I looked up MIA's music and saw Santigold in the recommendations I was like "oh she's biting." But in realty they're only a year apart and they came up pretty much around the same time.
