I’m normally a Remo player but the Aquarian SK2 was sounding nice. Which would you say is the most durable ? Currently Remo P4 but the outer ply split. Would a 10 or 12 mil single ply be more durable? I also will use a patch for extra protection . Thanks this was an excellent presentation.
Thanks! Glad you liked it. I'd always recommend two ply for durability, and if you use a patch it definitely won't split! I've never had a bass drum head tear or split using one. Cheers!
I’m going to use a Coated Powerstroke 3 on my bass drum to record my first Metallica Enter Sandman parody. I will also be using an impact patch to protect the drumhead from any damage and it adds more durability to the bass drumhead
Emad sounded like a cannon on my tama, when i put emad on my Gretsch the sound was completely different. So my conclusion, you just have to try out for yourself
Comparison is very good but the snare drum is too loud in the mix and dominate through all video. I can barely hear the bass drum even with headphones.
Hey thanks for the feedback. I did consider this and added a section of "bass drum only" right near the beginning so you can hear the kick without any other kit components.

Still in love with the super kick 2
The Remo Powersonic is my favorite! , been using it for a while now thanks for featuring it !!
Thanks for the comment- I think it sounded great in this comparison!
Great video, the levels in this are perfect!
Thanks! Glad you dig it 🙏
Great video!! I've been using the Emad BD heads for a good few years! Nice to hear some comparisons - good mix and balance! 👍🏻🥁
Awesome! Glad you liked it 🙏
Thanks for the video! Very nicely done and with good points of view. 👏🏻👏🏻
Appreciate it! Glad you liked it 😊
Great job, thanks a lot! It would be interesting to hear which drum heads are easier to tune and which are not so much.
Glad you liked it! I found them all easy to tune, especially the EMAD, SuperKick2 and EQ4.
Needed this 👏🏻
🙌🙌
Thanks! Would love to see a test of more jazz heads with higher tunings. Fiberskyn, Ambassador coater, the ones with the felt strips, etc.
Cool suggestion! I definitely want to create some content like this, and also other types of cymbals and drumheads of jazz 😀
Thank you!
I m using EMAD 2 and wanna try the Remo Powersonic :)
To me Remo powerstroke 4 coated, regards from Mx
I LOVE those. Clear and coated. P3 is great too.
I guess that remo power sonic is still where it's at, they used to come with an extra pad.
I've been using the Remo powersonic for years now with a round felt beater, just came by for curiosity. The Aquarian was good imo
Emad 2 all the way!
Thanks
Pleasure 🙏

All sound good. I noticed you’re using a drum dial. What tension did you set the batter and reso to?
Thanks! I think I did 74 for the kick drum batter but I also tuned by ear tapping around each lug and getting them all in pitch 😄
@ thanks for the reply.
Hi what drum dial settings did you use.
Hey I tuned to around 74 but I then tuned by ear working my way around each lug
no !too much volume on snare !

Couldn’t disagree more with this!
