It's a great idea to set a completion date and work hard to achieve it, but if the rush to finish work by December 8, 2024, causes people to cut corners and do shoddy work, it would be FAR better to finish the job CORRECTLY and set a new opening date. The next logical one is Easter Week 2025, which would give the workers the entire winter of 2024-2025 to complete their remaining tasks. After all, Easter is a time of rebirth and renewal - so just as it commemorates Christ's rising from the Dead, so it could be the perfect time to reintroduce Notre Dame Cathedral to its parishioners, the City of Paris and the entire world.
