I think that was the golden year of a prime Nonito year 2012 where he won fighter of the year.
Man was on fire in 2011-2012 he was damn near untouchable. He was nearly a 13-1 favorite in this fight lmao. Arce was just there to be executed.
Sophomore or Junior in Highschool when this happened had a few buddies over played cards had some brews etc Good ole days
His left hook is his best punch, ultimately, was his weakness too as his career progressed. The reason for his losses??? He fell in love too much with that left hook and KO power. I like the recent older version of Donaire now, calm, cool and collected and with many variations in his arsenal.

By law in Texas (and in most other states), a boxing promoter must purchase insurance to cover medical costs in the event that one or more of the fighters on his show is seriously injured. Cole’s agency is purportedly in the top two nationally in writing these policies. AND his dad was the head of the Texas State Athletic Commission, the sanctioning body for all fights in Texas. That's how he got the job and that is why he isn't going anywhere.

Dominate should have been disqualified for hitting Arce while he was down. Glove clearly on the mat then lands a huge hook to the head which really shook arce up.
It wasnt Donaire's fault for him to use his glove to avoid getting knocked down and for the referee being too far and too slow.
I love it when a fighter starts clowning, then gets immediately KO'd.

When he was younger, he was faster, he was stronger, he fought at a heavier weight and he won some and he lost. He's gotten older he's lost a step or two and some strength, so he decided to go down in weight. And he still lost a fight. That's not a weight bully to me. Especially not at 39.

Era cuestión de tiempo que Nonito venciera por tko a Jorge Arce. Esa pelea fue un error de sus manejadores haber aceptado. Se vio que Arce no pudo hacer la pelea en corto, además, era notoria la diferencia de corpulencia. Nonito se comió un bombón Con Arce. Rubén Olivares fue un maestro en pelear en corto con oponentes más altos y brazos largos.
Así es, a eso sumale que en aquel entonces Travieso aparecía mucho en la TV, estaba muy distraído, para mi el debió bajar cuando menos a peso supermosca (115) y terminar ahí su carrera, 118 ya era demasiado para el y cuando lo vi debutar en Pluma (126) ya se notaba que le daba flojera cortar peso.

Not to take anything away from Donaire, but that ref has go to be the worst ref in boxing history. When Arc was down and the ref let Donaire hit him again with a vicious shot like that, he could have killed him. The man was down and even put his right glove on the canvas and the ref just stood there and let him take a shot like that, totally unacceptable IMO. Just a horrible referee and should have been ban from boxing years ago!
