- Thumboormuzhi Dam and Butterfly Park are one among the most famous tourist spot to visit in Thrissur. They are located near to each other and it is frequently visited by nature lovers. The butterfly garden is a natural habitat of butterflies and it has about 148 spices. One can witness unique and small butterflies as well as some large ones. You can also witness some plants like pagoda flower, Mexican heather, rattle pods, rubiaceae, flame lily and more. The Thumboormuzhi dam, on the other hand, diverts water for irrigation purposes. From here the river splits into two canals - Edathukara canal and Valathukara canal. These canals provide a resourceful aid to the nearby villages.
Athirapally Falls,
Located 60 km from the Thrissur district of Kerala, Athirapally Falls is a marvellous cascade of frothy waters that makes its way from the Anamudi mountains of the Western Ghats. This 80 ft high and 330 ft wide marvel is the largest waterfall in Kerala and is often referred to as the "Niagara Falls of India". Charpa Falls is a waterfall located in Athirappilly panchayath in Thrissur district of Kerala. Located on the west-flowing Chalakudy River, this waterfall lies in between the more famous Athirappilly Falls and Vazhachal Falls.[1] It is a popular stopover for tourists who are visiting the Athirappilly and Vazhachal Falls. Vazhachal Falls is situated in Athirappilly Panchayath of Thrissur district in Kerala on the southwest coast of India. Located on the west-flowing Chalakudy River near the Vazhachal Forest Division and at the edge of the Sholayar ranges, it is just 5 km from entrance of Athirappilly Falls. It is located 36 km from Chalakudy
