I still remember when, before release, content creators were saying "if you don't have Xilonen don't bother pulling for Mavuika" only for Citlali to end up being her actual best support. Xilonen, while still part of her best team, is far more replaceable in a Mavuika team than Citlali.
Having Mavuika and Citlali together feels like a cheat code in the game. Mavuika is already so strong, but adding Citlali with the cinder city buff and her consistent off field cryo application that lets you melt most of your Charged atks makes it easy to wipe out most enemies. They're the strongest main dps-support duo in the whole game and I'm so glad I pulled for both.
I'm glad I was able to pull both of them, I don't think I'll be using any other duo until eos lol. Hopefully I can get Xilonen to complete my trifecta of awesome ladies. It's comfy, it's great in the overworld, they're pretty, I couldn't ask for much more.
In my opinion, I feel that Hoyoverse has been doing a good job managing power creep. From what I have see, Hoyoverse is putting a lot of effort into the kits of new characters to make them seem at least somewhat unique versus older characters. For example, Navia relying on crystalize compared to mono-Geo for Itto. In addition, there also seems to be effort to integrate how strong a character is in the story and how strong they are as playable character. For example, Mavuika is indeed the best Main DPS in the game, but she is also the Pyro Archons, and lorewise we know the archons are among the most powerful characters in the lore. So I'm fine with Mavuika being a bit of powercreep because it makes sense. In terms of future characters, since Skirk is a very powerful character in the lore (having power on the level of an archon) I expect her be on par with Mavuika as a playable character. On the other hand, Varesa (whom I expect to come out in 5.5) I expect be closer in power to the Natlan "mortals" like Mualani and Kinich, or older (but still strong) characters like Hu Tao, Shogun, and Alhaitham. Don't forget that in 5.4 we are getting Mizuki whom I expect to be weaker than most of the older units (despite the fact that she is a standard 5* and therefore has lower expectations). I would be concerned about powercreep if Hoyoverse was making EVERY new character noticeably better than previous ones.
I have C2 Mavuika and C0 Citlali and I’m curious what path i should take next to increase my bursts damage pull for Xilonen try to get as many copies of Mavuika’s signature weapon as i can as a free to play player or get constellations until shes C6
Main DPS team Synergy : - Diona (Forward Melt) - Rosaria (Forward Melt) - Xilonen (BiS/Forward Melt) - Citlali (BiS/Forward Melt) - Bennett (BiS/Forward Melt) - Xingqiu (NA Vape) - Yelan (NA Vape) - Ororon (overload) - Chevreuse (overload) - Raiden (overload) Although i don't recomend Raiden because she is only utilized for her insane electro application here. Her burst mechanic doesnt work with Mavuika Sub DPS team Synergy : - Neuvilette (mavuika vape) - Mualani - Ayato (mavuika vape) - Clorinde overload - Wriothesley - Ganyu + shielder - Chasca + Citlali (or no is fine) - Kinich + Emilie - Navia + Chiori/Xilonen - Lyney She has alot of team Synergy as a Sub DPS, these are just her top picked ones i'd say? Although im not entirely sure, not a theorycrafter. Plus as long as there is one Natlan character, Mavuika can be the craziest character in the game. Alot of DPS's BiS team now include Mavuika and Xilonen because not only do they increase your main DPS's damage significantly, but also Mavuika's insanely high damage ceiling allowing your overall team damage to be carried by Mavuika
This whole Powercreep discussion is still premature. The same DPS argument was made last year with Neuv's release, and things cooled down power wise afterwards... 🤷
The only natlan 5 star I have is citlali so yeah mavuika is not an option for me besides I don't like mavuika so that's that, I play neuvi freeze or arle vape and I don't feel the need to pull mavuika. In the future mavuika will have more competition in terms of dps dmg output because of curtain characters.....
I'd say mavuika is the worst archon even (as of now) because she's such a mary sue. And mavuika's design is one of the worst in the game and don't get me started on her bike.

Literally. They're an amazing main dps -support duo. Citlali is to Mavuika what Theory crafters assumed Xilonen would be for Mavuika before release.

Citlali has allowed not only my Mavuika but also Arlecchino to do comical damage lol
You summon the Arlecchino mains again, those mains always argue about DPS between Arlecchino and Mavuika.

I couldnt pull Citlali since i had to get Mavuika. Waiting patiently for her rerun. For the time being i use Furina Xilonen and Mavuika still shreds.

Bike make everything easy in exploration and her DMG so high compare to other DPS
