No one's addressed the elephant in the room that every body element of this car is taken directly from the Losi Lasernut 10th scale. Great job, would love to add a "Mini" Lasernut to the collection. They got every element down pat.
Well, I got mine a couple days ago and throwing in my take. First off.. this buggy is awesome! I did NEED to go thru and tighten up the screws. I needed to add a little oil to the rear shocks, no biggie. I thickened it up to 45wt to help the rear end bounce less(something I noticed in your video) . Set the front to 0* toe-out. And put the droop screws in and lower the ride height a tad. Other than that it's pretty dialed. Handles extremely well and predictable. As far as being "almost uncontrollably" on 3S, I highly disagree. Stock radio and ESC are great. I am running a 2200mah 100C 2S and it's super fun. Wheelie on command, it's a blast! With my 2200mah 50C 3S it's exactly the same, only faster on the top end. Super linear throttle control, smooth strong brakes that are as equally proportional. I'm extremely impressed with the ESC performance. If anyone is finding it uncomfortable... I'd guess you have a defective ESC or radio, OR you just need to learn better throttle finger control. If you need to get a different esc to program in a throttle curve or something, that's not the factory ESC's fault. It's very smooth. Almost too smooth for my taste..i wish I could bump up the punch settings. All in all I'm comparing the parts quality and design/function of the suspension to my Losi mini 8. The Losi suspension arms are beefier, and it uses bigger bearings in some places, and other than a few design modifications, they are almost identical. More over, the Rlaarlo drives almost exactly like the Losi, and the Losi has been dialed in for racing, so that's a huge props to the Rlaarlo team.
@@AceBums oh snap, my bad, 2200 70C , 1500mah 100C, and the 3S. The 2200mah 70C is a CNHL battery I got on Amazon, and so is the 1500mah. The 3S is a GoldDot they don't seem to have anymore on Amazon.
Oh man, seeing it be so tourque-y on 3s is a shame. This is where a better, more tuneable, ESC would come in handy. The punch seems to be set way too high for that pinion gear. Also, I wish it was 1/10th. The AM-X12 is a great platform but smaller scale cars will always struggle with stability in rough terrain.
I agree with you! I said to myself as I watched the video "If it was only twice the size" I just hope they expand into the bigger scale cars soon! I think they are on the right track.
If you want a 1/10 get yourself a Zd Racing DBX-10, its an awesome basher and and has a brushless setup and has a dumbo radio system as well. I reviewed it a year or so ago on my channel.
I just ordered one and looking forward to it's arrival. I have a Futaba radio with exponentials I can use to smooth out the throttle..it should be a blast! Great review!
I just got mine and it is awesome. Granted, ALL the screws needed to be tightened up, and the rear shocks were a bit low on oil (okay because I thickened it up to 45wt.. perfect!).. but otherwise it was good. Shocks are silky smooth, drivetrain looks very stout, as I always inspect and properly lube the diffs before ANY serious bashing. The servo is strong and fast, and the throttle is very linear. I must say, if you have a smooth throttle finger, no punch settings are needed. This buggy RIPS! Overall, I think it's my new favorite.
@kristopherdonaldson9569 hey man about the AM D12, im new to rc and you're obviously not. 😂 shock oil i think you said 45w but diff grease/fluid, what did you use there? I heard it's not a sealed diff so i guess you cant put fluid in there? Also, since I'm new to rc, on 3s i'll probably be flipping all over the place... is it better to get like a 100c 2s battery instead of a 3s? I want wheelies 😂
@@keldonator If I get something for free to review I will mention it in the video and I will mark the video as "paid promotion". All reviewer should be doing this to be honest...
lemme guess 300-400 bucks!!! rlaarlo has cornered the market on over priced cheap rc's. that buggy needs heavier shock oil....still bounces like toy grade.
Go here to see 2 more Rlaarlos in action the AK917 and AM-X12 : th-cam.com/video/PgziJpW3XFY/w-d-xo.html

True xd
That and the zd dbx10. (Which was probably taken from losi as well)
LaserNot?
No it's not one 10th
So you can buy same parts of lasernut when you want to fix this one into the video?
Thanks for providing the first look. I haven't see any other channels talk about this Rlaarlo yet. This looks like a fun and capable RC car. 👍
OH boy I want one! I just received my AK-917 today and oh my its very nice! Rlaarlo has a new customer here. Thanks for posting!
Interesting lo cal. Getting mine today😊
Very very GOOD !!! Thanks
Nice Car!
Thx for the overview!
Im getting the ak or the d12 too :)
Amazing upload my friend 👍

This or amx12? Which is better
That depends, the amx12 is faster but needs to run on a smooth surface.

The brakes are a little heavy too. On 3s, hard braking will have you flip end over end 🤣

Baby lasernut, i like it 👌👍👍😀
Will you be getting the new AM-D12 when it's released?
Nope. Not a chance. Done with Rlaarlo
No, looks ugly and it is so small for serious bash. There is nothing new, remids me another cheap China like Maverick etc. 1/8 buggy will be better.
I just ordered one and looking forward to it's arrival. I have a Futaba radio with exponentials I can use to smooth out the throttle..it should be a blast! Great review!

Just ordered one in the US for $185. I’m a big buggy fan.
7:01 it is a wltoys buggy, they make them for rlarlo. Rlarlo doesnt have manufacturing facilities
Yes this is a WL-12428. Tons of upgrades like aluminum towers, etc.
No its not. 12428 is solid rear axle. Very different. Maybe the front arms could be the same.
is the motor and esc waterproof?
No
If you install a longer wheelie bar, it might run better for you, especially on the 3S.
Nice
Great video! Do you know if its waterproof?
Splashes are alright but not submerging. The ESC is not totally enclosed.
How come yours has gold rims? The 2 for sale look different
Mine is a Chinese market version. They might have changed the wheels for the international version.
Do you think they'll be doing their usual multiple trim level thing? With all their new electronics I'm surprised they haven't used anything.
There is only one version here in China but I can't say what they'll bring to the international market.
How fast is it? My guess is about 80kmh.
With a 17T pinion and those wheels. Probably not that fast. I'm sure I can get it to 100km/h with some modification though. 😉
What’s the price gonna be?
The price has not been announced yet. But as soon as I know I'll update.

Oh great another rc they can’t supply parts for so if you purchase it don’t run it because you can’t improve it or fix it
It is similar to WLTOYS 12429
No, the 12429 has a solid rear axle
lemme guess 300-400 bucks!!! rlaarlo has cornered the market on over priced cheap rc's. that buggy needs heavier shock oil....still bounces like toy grade.
I doubt it will be that much. The AM-X12 is $200-250 and was $150 on presale.
Why not a 1/10
Another junk
Yes, another Rlaarlo junk which has better promo than the quality.
Bad product made of poor quality parts, it doesn't last for 3 seconds, don't use it
Looks great. Not for me, unfortunately. Too dinky. If this company starts making proper size 1/10 scale I'll get one.
THIS D BUGGY IS AWESOME
