NY Knicks biggest weakness is the Center positions. The Knicks need to get Walker and Achiuwa for the Center positions. That will be a great improvement 👍.

The coaching staff should develop Sims to be the type of player that can defend big men that play in the perimeter like Porzingis and Horford. He has the youth, energy, athleticism and can develop the agility to defend the perimeter at a high level.

With this squad they don't need to play them so many minutes. By not playing them so many minutes they will be more fresh and help mitigate injuries
Embiid and Porzingis are also injury prone players in April, not only Mitch.
At times the Knicks can play Randle at the 5 against a player like Horford.

With robinson the fact he can only operate out of the dunker spot isn't that big of a deal since he'll usually be out there with 4 people who can shoot the 3. His big issue his complete inability to hit a free throw. A guy who can dominate the offensive board but can't hit a ft is a liability when all they need to do is foul him.
Answering these as I’m watching, I hated Randle prior but seeing what we did without him kinda shows me how he’s worth it. Randle on the team gives us a bull in a China shop and a top 5 pf in the league, when he’s up he’s up. That’s something we can’t replace with anyone that’s available. Yes his bad games make me hate him but I do believe he is worth it considering all the pieces we have, we don’t need him to be the number 1 or the number 2 anymore, he is in the perfect position with us now

The amount of players whose reputations have changed under Thibs once they came to the Knicks can’t even be argued. Thibs haters are simply just that, haters. Who tf would yall even want instead? And why? We’re contending for a title now
I think Spo, Ty lue, Pop, and Kerr are probably better coaches but that’s about it. 3 of these coaches are top 15 coaches of all time.

I would say spo and pop are the two best coaches. After them thibs can match up with anyone.

@leonmitchell3560 won a title with bron when making the finals was almost a guarantee cuz the east was weak. Thibs has never had a team favored to win the conference. In fact I'd argue making the knicks relevant again and getting the wolves to ther first playoffs in 14 years was as hard a job as there was. Let's not forget that the only time doc did anything as a coach thibs was by his side too.

@@MrKyle592 oh I know, and that was needed.. we needed a 3rd man for that power forward position.. but it will be between him & Achuwa depending on what is needed at the time. Achuwa gets put on the court to stop offenses with his defense. No one expects him to score much.
In fairness to Robinson, had Randal never gone down IHart would never have emerged as he did because it would not have been necessary. This is a fact marshall.

@@STR1NGB34N1 I'm an Avid Knicks fan. I've watched Ihart for his entire career here in NY. I just have a different opinion than you do on this. If you look at the playoffs last year, IHART didn't do what he did this year because it wasn't necessary. Mitch is the one who stole Cleveland's big men's lunch boxes and gobbled down the twinkies right in front of them not IHART. Each bought something different to the party and having both or the skillsets of both provided the greatest flexibility.

I’ve long been critic of Thibs and I’ll probably continue to be a critic whenever he’s messing up, but I do agree that he’s done a good job with this team.

Only after the results of the 2024-5 season can we decide whether Randle is needed on this team or not .Now It's a little early to tell.
I worry more about Randle having a negative impact than Robinson. Robinson is a major injury concern, but when healthy I think the level of offensive rebounding he brings is understated for the teams success. Hartenstein being an amazing offensive rebounder himself made it less apparent. But with I-Hart gone, the Knicks need a Dennis Rodman to get more offensive possessions into the hands of efficient players like OG and Brunson. That’s just a formula for winning basketball. Even the warriors AT TIMES heavily relied on Kevon Looney to create more possessions for curry and the warriors 3 pt heavy offense.
Mitch, is also on a descending contract, which is a lot more manageable than what a lot of other centers collect to be turn tables (Vucevic)

The addition of Mikal makes our bench better (DiVo). Healthy Julius and OG make our bench [one of] the best in the NBA (JHart).
As for now…
We’ve got plenty guard play. Burner, DiVo, Mikal, JHart, Deuce, TK, KMac. Forwards: Julius, OG, Mikal, JHart, Keita Bates-Diop (KDB), PDadiet. 5s: Mitchie, JSims, The Incredible HUK(porti) We’re only need another proven big. Hopefully a 7 footer. Maybe a Kessler, a Nick Richards or even a Big Yurt (Yurt7).That’s all we need. A big. Would still like to re-sign Precious for his (break glass) utility. But we still need a legit big.

Why are we still talking about Hartenstein offense? Te man would not get that much touches with Bridges and Randle on this lineup. Knicks offense will be alright. Randle is a 25 and 10 guy, Bridges provides 20pts and 4 Rebs a game. Hartenstein is a career back up center, a journeyman that had a great season in a contract year. Let’s see how he plays out west now that he’s in a scouting report.

Dario Saric gives us everything Hart was doing and more on the offensive side . Defensively it will be a sacrifice but I think the rookie will groom into what’s we need
I disagree. If everyone is healthy leading into the playoffs, the Knicks have more than enough scoring.
Just like the Pistons & Bulls didn't need Dennis Rodman to put the ball in the basket, the Knicks don't need Mitchell Robinson to worry about that either. Defend, block shots, clear the boards, get that key offensive rebound down the stretch, make your free throws and he's PERFECT for this team.
The backup situation is different.
From what I have read, they have Simms working hard on his offensive game because when the 2nd unit is on the floor, he would be the roll man in the big/little pick and roll. So he has to be able to convert more like Hartenstein. But with the 1st unit, Randle can set the pick for Brunson and now the defense has a problem.
If you switch that, you have a small guarding Randle and he's about to be posted up. If you blitz it, Jalen hits a pocket pass to Randle, swing, swing and either OG or Bridges has an open corner 3. If you go under, then Jalen has an open 3.
Tom Thibodeau’s a good coach. The only problem I got against him is he wear his players to the ground? minimize their time. That’s the only problem against him.

Josh Hart made the biggest jump under Thibbs!! What we saw at the end of last season an playoffs he was an enigma!! Imagine Hart playing a whole season like he played at the end of the season? You have to start Hart!! Have 2!! So again my starting 5 right now is Brunson-1 Bridges-2 Hart-3 OG-4 Randle-5 Yet we do need to start Robinson at Center cause Randle does not like playing the 5, so the contundrum with the Knicks will between who starta between Hart, OG and Bridges since OG an Hart have senority I believe Bridges should come off the bench, he can provide a packed punch in scoring, he can lead that 2nd unit in scoring, Hart has 2 be out there, let Hart be Hart an we paying OG too much money for us to have this defensive guru sitting on thw bench, out of those 3 it is almost expected for OG to go down an Bridges will be able to make up for his absence as well as Hart, and Hart can play the 4 but do we really want Hart out there having to battle against much bigger opposition? He can do it but I dont recommend it unless Julius gets hurt, but he can provide relief for Julius while he rest and so can OG

Of course Mitch is the answer at center. Have you watched him play? And you are not seriously asking Leon to predict injuries? Mitch does not need to play 70 or even 60 games. All he need is to be available for the playoffs. Again, Mitch isn't there for scoring. A matter of fact the current Knicks does not need a scoring center. There are enough scorers on this team, starting and on the bench. They need a rim protector and a rebounder, especially an offensive rebounder. Mitch fits that role perfectly apart from his free throw shooting.
I’ve watched him play slightly more than half the games the last two seasons. Therein lies the problem.
@@whlewis9164 He's a big that moves and hustles. That's the nature of the bigs. He's isn't being sat on purpose or refusing to play like some superstars across the league. All we need from Mitch is to be available for the playoffs. He's a beast in the playoffs.

I’m fine with Mitch being the starting center but we still need a real backup center that isn’t sims, sims doesn’t cut it. We need somebody else. Deuce should be traded, we have too many sg for him and kolek should be our backup PG if he can hold up those assist numbers.
Well we will see how this drafted center Ariel Hukporti plays in a few weeks during the Summer League games. Achuwa did the best job defending against Embid during the playoffs.

Starting or coming off the bench isn't important . How many minutes a game is more important . I don't have confidence he can stay healthy . He's right that there's not enough minutes for our scoring guards . Trade him for a center .
