Yours is my favorite review of the 992. Driving her on the track allowed you to demonstrate handling characteristics that others could not. That fact alone created far more excitement for me than all other reviews combined. I appreciate you are a more than competent driver, capable of demonstrating the kind of fun a lot of us will get to enjoy on occasions when a fine section of road appears and no-one is in sight who might take issue. You gave appropriate time and attention to comfort, style and practicality points. In that regard, thank you for not measuring the boot space or climbing into the rear seat. You showed them to me, drew logical conclusions as to their usefulness and moved on. Camera work was excellent, with drone footage deserving special mention. Lastly, this video being my introduction to you, you present yourself as a qualified Dude, whose man-card is properly endorsed. If you lived in Arizona, USA, we'd be friends. Thank you for the effort and resources you put into creating such high quality content. EDIT: Since writing this comment, I've come to realize you are a rock star among auto reviewer. I'm such a novice!
Why is Harris so good? He has the confidence to be himself without adding unnecessary comedy (which is why I feel Top Gear the program butchers his delivery). Brilliant character, brilliant driver, brilliant reviewer.

In fact, I am used to dealing with British people, I learnt english in a British academy and I have no problem whatsoever understanding Harris. And no, by no means, I am not Finnish nor Scandinavian.

The steering wheel control at 10:30 is absolutely, absolutely impeccable. Just amazing to witness such smoothness and precision, especially on the way out of the slide.

there are car reviewers and car reviewers but what sets chris harris apart is just his obvious pure enthusiasm and love for cars and for driving. theres no filter. he just loves what hes doing and loves telling you about it
He really is THE best presenter of cars that has ever been.

I own a 2016 3.8 N/A 991 GTS. I plan to keep it for sure after seeing the new 992! The car has become to digital! I dislike the gauges and the little baby shifter! The lower front end is so.... dull and boring looking. Especially for a 100k plus car! And the cup holders that you can find on any cheap ass car! I do like the rear end of the car. Except for the Cheap plastic rear engine vents! Like really!! But the best thing about this car is that Chris Harris is reviewing it. :)
Well... Just keep what you got then cos frankly this is the way forward for the 911 😅

He is a proper car reviewer. He makes all these other rich TH-camrs pale in comparison. He's a proper driver and shows how a supercar works and drives, he doesn't just go around a little showing off and changing gear randomly to make you hear the engine noise.
I agree because that is his profession. Now the rich folks on youtube is very good in their profession as well in making money. Money doesnt come free for losers .
Amazing car for sure but I think the rear lights make it look too much like a two door Panamera.
That's the point of that, porsche try to put same design language in the rear of all their cars.

Chris, does Sports Plus (assume it had it) make the shifts faster? They did seem less sporty that one would think which you said occurred while in Sports mode. Great review as always.
A yellow Porsche, something about it grabs my heart strings. The 1985 film Commando with Arnold Schwarzenegger, yes ever since that beauty in the movie, I love Porsche.

shoulda put it in sport plus for track driving, would have quickened up the shifts on the excellent new 8 speed PDK as well as allowed for more slip angle and decreased body roll. Can say from driving one on track, it's outstanding overall

I have been reading car reviews for 2 decades now and they all always tell us that this turbo engine doesn't feel turbocharged. And yet they do. They always still do.

I think the new design is spectacular in how it's keeping almost every 911 line, yet feels completely new to look at.
Ok Mr. Harris. I have been watching lots of people video car reviews. I must say, you are one of the best, especially how you really express with emotion both the good and not so good finer points of the cars. Now, I love cars, especially sports cars and I’m a pretty good driver. Now that I’m in my 50s and my kids grown and almost out of the house and somewhat out f my pockets, I have some free time to enjoy my life. I’m actually to attend another exotic car drive event in Bridgewater, New Jersey in August. I did this last year when I turned 50 and drove my first Lamborghini Hurrican in bright yellow. I had to loud and bold. LOL. Anyway, the reason I’m righting you is after watching a number of your video, I want to know how can I do what you do? I expect you would need to have years of driving skills as you do , but I’m sure I could learn pretty quick. Plus I would greatly enjoy it. 😁. So, if you have any advice or can steer me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it. Be well. Cheers. Marcus

It spoils the whole back end IMO. They've gone for the slim sleek bar because it looks modern but the height of the rear end is still the same as before so it just looks like it has a huge plastic behind. I could see them reintroducing larger rear lights in the 992.2 if enough people don't like the current look.
@@gazman9468 Yeah, the placement of the number plate makes it even worse I think. There is that huge part of 'nothing' that just looks wrong to me. Luckily you can spec the SportDesign package to improve that.

"Get over it." Agree with that sentiment with one exception: Weight. A proper sports car should be light. Very light. The lighter the better. Colin Chapman understood that. My 997 is already too heavy. I can't get behind a "sports car" that weighs even more.
I just test drove the 992 carrera 4s. It is a amazing car. Everything is perfect.

A year later, I'm wondering how the electric power steering feels now after a couple generations of fine tuning, compared to the 997's hydrolic. Most people were complaining about the 991's, and I think I remember Chris saying that the 4S's steering felt better because of the added weight of the awd system.

I like the new 911. I’ve always loved em as Turbo cars. So, I am glad they are all turbo now.
The door handle gone bad, can’t get in the car, service cost 7200 euros.

Just saw this video for the first time(yes I realize it’s 5 year old).
Great video and a beautiful pair of cars. Yes…I saw that there were two different cars when you were going over the outside and showing the hidden engine.
I caught the rear badge differences.
One is a Carrera S and the other is a Carrera 4S.
Gotta say that other than the rear badge they look identical.
Question…is the front storage compartment on a 4S any smaller than the one on the 2S?
