Keyless entry install

Adding factory keyless entry to 99-02 gm trucks. Mine is a 01 2500hd Silverado that came factory with power locks and windows but not keyless entry. The truck is wired from factory to accept keyless entry just want an option. So to enable this feature I had to go to the junk yard and find a 99-02 single cab or extended cab truck and get the following-
•Keyless entry module
•relay for fuse panel
•BCM
•AIR BAG module.
In this video I will go over the steps to installing the above listed parts for adding keyless entry as an option.

Did ur security light turn off immediately after doing the relearn?
Also did u have any problems with the locks not cycling. I only got them to cycle a few times but fob wouldn’t pair. Then my passenger lock stopped working. Plugged the original bcm back in and then the passenger lock works. I’m gonna try again with a new fob

@@EliteDiesel01 ended up being a bad fob. I just have the security light coming on when a door is open with the key out of the ignition, not sure what that’s about but thanks for making this video it really helped me out

Can you do this if you dont have the electric lock buttons? I can tell the door has electric locks even tho the key only unlocks

I normally never comment on anything but i could not find any videos on adding keyless entry the factory way like you did. I just wanted to ask if we need the air bag module or was that just in your case where you had an issue? But thanks again for the info man hope to get this done soon.

If you replace the bcm you have to get your air bag module programmed to your new bcm. I just got the bcm and air bag module from a junk truck so I didn’t have to do any programming

So I followed your steps, I installed the keyless entry module and the relay fuse, but the programming is not working? Where do I go from there? I’m confused on the BCM? Does that have to be installed or is it a swappable part? Is the airbag module the steering wheel airbag itself or is it a box like one of the others? Sorry if I sound stupid I am just lost 😅

I did a little more research on the body control module and the airbag module, does it make a difference is my truck is 5 speed manual 4.3 v6 and the truck I get the body control module and airbag module off of is a v8?

I have 99-02 Silverado and I bought the BCM and Airbag module from a junkyard truck, when I put it in I can’t get the truck to start it just cranks and says security lock. Please help

You have to do a anti theft relearn.

replace the cargo lamp and map light fuse and it’ll dissapear it’s probably blown out and toggled on
