Your attention to detail is amazing, most people would have just replaced that broken piece with a some square stock, grinding it to the same design/radius is going the extra mile which is why I keep watching your channel. Pre-heating the cast iron is something a lot of people new to welding don't do,being as porous as cast iron is it holds a lot of dirt/oils. I thought he was gonna roast the 🐈
@@kagtiiii That would bring a million views for sure.
The reason he didn't saw the welding is because he didn't want spatter on the lens.
What a fantastic restoration! This is such a beautiful stove now. One thing I love about all the restorations is that the items become usable again and we can see that. Watching these is meditative.
МАЭСТРО! ! ! БРАВООО! !!
I personally like old things, old books, old castles, old forts, historical movies. These have some kind of mystery around them. Its good to know what lies behind them all.
@Howie Felterbush I have cared for my old mother. Many of us do not send them to the Old age home. I respect you too. I did not know your age. It is not utility of the person but the person himself or herself is precious irrespective of usefulness or no. God bless you. May you enjoy good health and immunity. Keep inspiring.
When I first saw the condition of the firebox, I thought, "You just bit off more than you can chew... "
I thought wrong.
i cannot get over how pretty that stove is, that is a beautiful green it came in
This is my second episode I have watched and I am hooked. No talking, just hands. This is the best channel. Thank you for the cares taken during each project 😊
Welding the cast iron is the skill, well done.
No it’s quite easy
Welding cast is easy. The hard part is going to keep it from cracking down the road from the stress built up in the piece . Not much pre-heat and fast cool down. That was the harbor freight junk of it’s time. Wouldn’t waste mine, that’s for sure. But they are probably bobble heads so it may be worthwhile for them to spend 3-4 days on a 50€ max pos
Wow! My dad would've loved watching these restorations! When you popped that square in and it was dead on i could almost hear my dad say and thats how it's done!
Well done! I love these old stoves. To see them fully restored and functional is a real treat.
12:08 That's what my cat does too; gets right in the middle of whatever project you're doing and "helps".
Passed the CaT Scan....
Terry Shaw you watch Jonathan W?
One of the best restoration items on TH-cam.
Wow! You put so much heart into this restoration. It’s a beautiful piece! Thank you for sharing.
This master's hands are so steady and experienced. his aim in keeping the saw line straight, and his welds, are inspirational. I wobble too much even when drawing with a straight edge.
That was stunning. Thank you for restoring such a beautiful piece of history!
You know even after all these years the enamel still looks great.
That's why a lot if old items were enameled because it lasted forever. Sinks, refrigerators, stoves and a lot if kitchen utensils were so durable they were heirlooms handed down. Not sure if sinks were handed down tho 🤔
Great video. Learned a lot. The cat was a delightful distraction doing what cats do. Beautiful restoration. Wood stoves hold a special place for me...I was named after my great grandmother, whom was named after one!
The cat said it "was still a box". It's a thing of beauty. Love the green!
12:05 love the box inspector, looks like it passed the box test.
That’s probably the most satisfying cup of coffee ever enjoyed
I love love love the way things used to be made to last. Workmanship was a thing of pride once upon a time. Beautiful piece and great job !
One of the best restoration projects I’ve seen in a while! Well done and it looks fabulous after your kind hands have returned this beautiful stove/fireplace to its former glory.
Finally a restoration, TH-cam is filled with "restorations" that change designs and colors of the items they are restoring. It's annoying.
Basically a blasphemy
I swear some don’t know the difference between a restoration and a customisation...
My point exactly why turn a silk purse into a sow's ear when other people restore things, i love the work you did on this restoration it was a honour to watch it.
And this is when is not that kind of videos where the people take the supposedly "broken" object out of the trash and pretend they are restoring while they put that there.
Have you also noticed everything has to 'farmhouse' and distressed..
These videos are really relaxing Its awesome to see what the final product looks like as well.
Amazing. I love your videos. No talking, no music. And everything ist done with respect and love for the material and object. This stove would be perfect for a campervan. 🥰
Ridiculously satisfying 🤩 the perfect 90 degree angle, the color and shine, and the cat and coffee in the end! Amazing ❤️
That is the most beautiful stove I have ever seen, and your skills are amazing, I am a little bit jealous 😍
I'm so glad you keep the original green enamel paint. It is soooo mesmerising! Keep up the good work!
Драгоценные руки мастеров, создавших такую красоту и заново его возродивших, браво.
Another thing a lot of people would also have tried was to "band-aid" that metal inner box, glad you just scrapped it and made a new one, as always great job, looking forward to the next one.
for those who may not know "inox" when he says "inox rivets" means stainless steel, in french we call that "acier inoxidable"
Would that translate more or less to rustproof, since rust is a product of oxidation?
If so, that’s a clearer name than stainless.
Thanks for that! I was like, hope not alloy rivets but ...inox ...they won't fail for some time.
In spanish "acero inoxidable"
In Portuguese it's called "aço inoxidável" basically the same as in French and Spanish.
Great, I was concerned as I thought he was using Aluminum rivets which would not last a darn.
Everyone else: This is incredible
Me: KiTtY cAt
Omg I was like omg cat i didn’t know anyone one too lol
🤭😉
haha me too! Keeeeety!
😂 I’m the crazy cat parent who immediately went OF COURSE upon seeing the cat.
If there is a Box.
A Cat will find it.
