    Hello and thanks for a great video- I did everything including smashing with my rubber mallet and I am 72 years old. So, whoever thought it was too complicated was obviously not willing to try. I would suggest that gasket material like the 1/16 inch from NAPA auto may work to cut out a new gasket using the old one as a pattern. Mine blew off my deck but then I found it, but I was just going to cut a new one if it ripped. Luckily, mine did not tear. Everything looks so clean and new. I used a auto scratch polish on the white scratches on the exterior of my plastic parts and the machine looks like new and smells so much better. I used little lemon juice and then a vinegar spray then clear water to clean the cyclone parts. No more dirt and animal odors. I also did not know what a torx screwdriver head was, but I had one that fit and now I know what it is. Very happy with my final result. I think that Dyson should certainly start making these just a bit easier to take apart. They are always talking about how just emptying the chamber gets rid of dirt but if you don't tap the !#*! out of the chamber to get the fine dust particles that are in the cyclone chamber then it really builds up quickly. Thanks again.

    Thanks for the helpful guide. My old DC25 just died on me, the gear that connects to the motor via the rubber belt completely wore down the plastic teeth, and the brush bar won’t spin. Ordered a new brush bar and soleplate and I decided I’d clean the cyclone while I was fooling with it. Haven’t deep cleaned the cyclone one single time since I got the vacuum in 2017/2018. This video got me through disassembly and reassembly, and I was shocked how dirty it gets inside there. Suction seems a lot stronger now.

    Sir! I cannot believe I found this video! I can’t tell you how amazed And grateful I am for it! I have this vacuum and never washed the filter in 3 years. A few days a ago I finally did and then decided to keep taking the vacuum apart. When the spring came out I could not figure out where it went and thought I ruined my Dyson! Then I said ok I’m sure i won’t find a video to help me but let me look on TH-cam anyway… and holy shite!! Here you are with a great video that has inspired me to now clean the entire thing as you did! Thank you this literally made my day 😁

    I just washed mine and didn't realize it needed to be disassembled. I'm glad you showed the process. It was simple and it is clean and dry now. Works like new too. I ordered new filters for spares. Thanks.

    Thank you. I got about 90% of my DC25 vacuum disassembled and cleaned but your mallet trick and prying technique solved the last part. I had been hosing out the canister for years and all that moisture created a sludge that smelled like a sewer. It is nice to vacuum now and not stink up the house. I also found a way to clean my Dysan V6. What a difference! Thanks again.

    Thank you Richard, for the great tip on cleaning my Dyson DC25. You showed great thorough details on taking the cyclone apart to clean it inside and out! I wish I would have watched your Dyson video sooner. I even put some black tape on the cyclone gasket just as you showed in your video, thank you a million!!!! Have a blessing Easter Sunday. I can't wait until my filters dry so I can get back to some good clean cleaning!

    It's immeasurably easier to just soak it in the warm soapy water and then flush it throughly with a water jet from your shower head. Water goes everywhere there and gets out all junk. I'd say it cleanses at least 90-95% of all stuff, and no danger of spare parts left behind. 😉

    Thank you for the wonderfully helpful video good sir.
    I've a couple additional questions, if you might be so kind?
    Firstly, am I correct in my observation that all of the parts you cleaned in this video can safely be cleaned with soap and water? I.e., there's nothing electrical etc?
    And secondly - I've heard that "ArmorAll," inspite of it's suggested uses, can have a tendency to breakdown and cause cracking of gaskets.
    Has anyone heard anything similar or otherwise?
    Can replacement gaskets be purchased from Dyson or other reputable sources?
    Thank you 😊

    • @richardsvacuumcenter
      @richardsvacuumcenter  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes! Soap and water works perfect! (Dawn is the best-not paid to say that lol).
      And interesting. I have not heard that about armor all. If that is happening to the rubber gaskets, I have never observed it on machines I have serviced that have come back in for routine service (that could be numbering in the hundreds).
      However if that is true that wouldn’t surprise me. I remember learning that chap stick brand lip balm causes your lips to crack more over time. Lol great way to get repeat business but ultimately lose the trust of your customer.
      All that to say, you could be right about armor all causing gaskets to crack, but I have not once seen these come back in cracked so I’m not all too worried about that. 😊
      Thanks for the comment!

    This is a great video, thank you. Do you have any tips for cleaning the bottom part of the vacuum with the roller? I think it’s the same t15 bit that would work to open that piece up, but the roller plastic case is filthy and I’d love to clean that after I do this main portion

    • @richardsvacuumcenter
      @richardsvacuumcenter  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      After removing all screws on the bottom pull up the top piece and then you need to remove the belt to separate the clear portion from the base. Take pictures and don’t get the motor wet!
