    Omg this video is so niche and perfect for me 🙏🏻 I have a small chin that goes even more back when I smile. You have no idea how many times I’ve googled to see if anyone feels the way I do 😫 even after losing weight my chin neck jaw area still appears like there’s no definition

    • @MrVinceMunro
      @MrVinceMunro 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Judging by your profile picture, your chin is on the smaller side but it does look defined. It fits your overall proportions I think, so I wouldn't worry too much about it! You look great!

    I have a recessed chin/jaw , I loved a gradient lob cut that I had just above my shoulders , I had noticed It had increased the sharpness in my face including my jawline. Due to how short my face is I noticed I couldn't have hair any shorter than that, despite how people claim all Gamines look good in bobs and pixies. Thin , dark , cotton turtle necks are great on me and again increase sharpness. I think chunky turtlenecks are best on natural types and can look really off on delicate , small bone structures. Yes a recessed chin does bring a youthful look which I think is very ingenue. Although I have done these things I have never done them with conscious intention , so thank you for outlining this and now I can be more aware and do it intentionally. Id like to add I use self tanner's that defines my jawline and creates separation between the neck and face . Obviously there's makeup too and men can grow and define their facial hair to define their jawline and create separation.

    If you do think about plastic surgery though, go for a sliding genioplasty and NOT a silicone implant. I've had both, first the implant and it shifted and looked misplaced in my case. With a sliding genioplasty the can also change the height of your chin an it looks completely natural, which is very important imo.

      I have this kind of chin and the only good thing is looking younger but still I’m self conscious of my chubby short face

    • @MrVinceMunro
      @MrVinceMunro 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@creamy_jello I recommend making a design in photoshop of how you would like your chin to look like. Side and front. And study facial anatomy online a bit to see what good proportions are and to which extent you can use it in your design, to avoid looking uncanny or strange. If you then feel like you want to change the chin, find a good jaw surgeon. Not a plastic surgeon.

    since we're talking about weak chins i want to add that it sometimes might be a sign of a malocclusion known as retrognathia - and it's much more common than you may realise. in my country the surgery for it is funded by the government (although you still have to go through an orthodontic treatment and pay for it yourself). i know the video is about everything BUT a surgery, however if you think you might have it, i recommend visiting a good orthodontist or an oral and maxillofacial surgeon (since most orthodontists have no idea about treating malocclusions requiring a surgery) because it's not only about looks, it can also cause serious health problems such as migraine, trouble with breathing and biting, slouching and more

    • @SofiaCalotti
      @SofiaCalotti 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      It can also be a sign of a forward swallow and lower tongue resting position instead of a backward swallow and your tongue resting on the ridge behind your upper teeth, which can affect which muscles in and around your mouth you use. In my country this is something speech pathologists and sometimes dentists and orthodontists can help with. It's called oro-myofunctional therapy.

    • @stylerefinement
      @stylerefinement  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I think that I would recommend face framing layers with a middle part that can frame your cheeks/jawline in a soft way, while keeping the rest of your hair at least shoulder level. I'd obviously need to see the actual face to make an accurate recommendation, but that would be the general reco based on your description :)

    Thank you for sharing this content. It is very well-explained among the many I've seen. I have always been insecure about my chin (which made my cheek appear more prominent and jarring to the point I was badly teased in high school years - "fat cheeks").
    A dentist eventually discovered I had a problematic overbite and jaw condition where my lower jaw doesn't grow in proportion to my upper jaw (forgot the clinical term).. but they did orthodontic treatment and I had a double-jaw surgery. Despite this, my jaw is still weak and I still feel vulnerable about it.
    Now I know i should at least have shoulder-length hair (not short hair) and try to add prominence to the chin area by having more contrast in that area. Is having bangs or no bangs better? Will bangs shorten my face more and pull more attention to my big cheekbones? Thank you!

    • @stylerefinement
      @stylerefinement  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think bangs can depend on the rest of your facial proportions, but generally speaking, yes - covering your forehead does bring more attention to the lower face. I would suggest curtain bangs or thinner, wispy styles of bangs to make sure parts of your forehead and eyebrows are still visible! :)

  • @LaibaAmjad-j5n
    @LaibaAmjad-j5n 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    If things like bobs hilight the lower facial outline and bring more empthases to recessed chins, would face framing side pieces have the same effect? I have a recessed chin and overall wide face that I’d like to deemphasize. I’ve heard that side pieces would be good at that but now I’m having second thoughts

    What about bangs ? Does that make receding chin look worser from the side? My nose seems big because of my receding chin and I was thinking side bangs on both sides could balance out my big nose, but maybe it has the opposite effect on my receding chin? I really hope that you will answer my question 🤞🏼

    • @stylerefinement
      @stylerefinement  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It depends on your proportions, but generally speaking, covering your forehead would bring more emphasis downwards to your nose and chin area :)

    what if you have a short wide neck and narrow rounded shoulders; plus a weak chin?

    • @stylerefinement
      @stylerefinement  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I would say to keep your hair at shoulder level so that the hair around the neck can create shadows for a slimming/lengthening effect as well as bring more definition to your chin area, but not long enough to create a visual break in your shoulder line to make the shoulders appear narrower :)

    I have a very small chin (and short neck) and contrast really helps. Also, if you have longer hair I would recommend long curtain bangs that cut in at the chin. This type of contrast and styling has worked wonders for me. Short hair and lighter hair just makes my face look super short and wide to the point that it doesn’t even look like me at all anymore.

But i slightly UNDERLINE the MIDDLE of the lower, lip to give the illusion of a slightly longer chin. I have a smallish mouth with decent fullness. So, i don't know if someone with a thin lower lip will want to underline the lower lip.

    I guess no one likes what they have. Women with strong chins are often perceived negatively, too manly, too mean, look order etc. So they want to soften the chin. Now the ones with weak chins want to look sharper, stronger. Maybe it is easier to just like what you have and focus on other things that are more useful and productive-like being good at something instead of staring at the mirror all day long.

    Instead of trying to hide it, fix it. Do hard chewing within use of chewing gum (use healthy one) and do tounge excersices. That should cause tounge to rise up and make you mewing ntaurally

      Regardless of who she uses as examples, we can't deny how informative the video is. I find your reaction immature. Jenn isn't using Ivanka for political purposes. She simply has features that resemble the topic and that's it.
      It doesn't have to be deeper than that.
