Woodturning - Can Scrap Pallet Wood be Beautiful?

  • I've had this wood in the workshop for a while, they were from a big hardwood pallet box. I think the woods are Wild Mango and Panga Panga. I wasn't expecting a perfect look, especially because of the nail holes, but for a little project I think its alright. Let me know what you think.

    I have a growing pile of dismantled pallet timber, waiting for when I have the space, money, and time to buy and use a lathe. This video proves that it is worth the wait.

    I have lots of pallets and none are that good quality! I've just finished building a gate out of pallet wood, though, and it's much better than the old one! Thanks for the videos! 🖖

    I think it camè out quite beautiful. Mat e you could take the rest of them (if you still h them) glue them together kind of like half of a log and turn a long thin plate or shallow bowl, just a thought. Love your work. 😊❤

    I made a walking stick using this technique. Had a dowel down all the sandwiched pieces.

    Ok, so you chopped up wood pallets into squares and then glued them together. What did you make? Is it a vase for holding flowers? What are you going to use it for? Does it have any practical use? Nice job, keep up the good work.

    Lovely wood from that pallet. The wood looked very dry, judging by the the small shavings.

    Everything fine except those nail marks/holes. I did the same and hated my bowl because of the nail holes that are visible when finished turning.
